Though 5-6 employees were working hard and fast behind the counter, the wait time was significant (about 20min) and made us quite antsy. First the snack, it was a dense ball of flavorful dough. When I read the description, I thought I was getting a muffin, like shaped like a muffin. Instead, it was a small ball of dough covered with confetti and it tastes amazing. The taste of lemon was strong for sucks a small thing. I chose the green machine as my juice. I can definitely taste kale in it. The ingredients were freshly juiced. I saw the staff doing that. It was not a smoothie but a juice so the liquid separated and I had to stir it up before drinking. Light and refreshing and not overpowering like a green machine smoothie. I chose the badger acai bowl, that has everything in it and it was wonderful. I love the crunchy granolas, coconut flakes and honey on the top. The berry smoothieb underneath was also good. I can see myself eating this outside the store on a nice day. Today was too cold for that The best thing, and this wasn't on the menu, is their coffee. I forgot my cup of coffee this morning before heading out, and I asked if they have coffee. She said yes and that she has to make one. I have to say, I really enjoy that cup of coffee today. It was made fresh like their bowls and juices and it was havenly. It hit the spot. Blended is located in a prime walk-up location at the outdoor Hilldale Mall. Plenty of comfy outside tables to enjoy your smoothie or bowls at. Since it was my first visit, I ordered from the first menu board I saw: Smoothies. Most smoothies were priced at around $10 for the smaller size and approx. $12 for the larger size. I settled on an ALOHA Smoothie, because it sounded fruity and summer-like. But, after a few sips I came to the realization that it only barely tasted fruity....and mostly tasted of protein powder. Since I wasn't totally happy with the smoothie, I re-entered the store to make amends. When I explained my dilemma to the young cashier, she was clearly flustered because she said "I've never had this situation before." Luckily one of the women blending orders stepped in to help. I was pleased that I was offered different choices to make things right: 1) a completely different drink of my choice; or 2) reblend my smoothie with more fruit/juice and put in a larger cup. I went with choice (2) and was very pleased with the result! Much more fruity flavor and less protein powder taste. Next time I will order from the second menu board---mostly juices. read more

I love Blended! Right in Hilldale Mall, it's really easy to park and access and it's a great snack or small meal after some shopping. The açaí bowls are so tasty and filling. They're also pretty large and a bit on the pricey side, so I'd recommend the regular size. I love the Zinger, especially with the chocolate bits (not too chocolatey) and the granola crunchies on top. Went here for a treat on a hot day. They have a sign on the door that says only 8 people inside at a time, which is good, because I don't know how you would fit many more. The bowl is a mix of acai, strawberries, raspberries, mangos, bananas, vanilla almond milk, and topped with granola, honey, coconut, strawberries, and raspberries. I enjoy lemon poppyseed and while I'm not typically a fan of shredded coconut, the flavor/texture of it in these was not overpowering at all. It was a tough choice but the best selling peanut butter bowl was my option. I've never had an açaí bowl and can't wait to try a few other options. I didn't get a lot of peanut butter showing up in this bowl and the granola was just a touch on the bland side, but I'm guessing some of the other bowls with different fruits will be a different story. If you want a traditional Acai bowl, get the Brazilian. As a Californian who has had a lot of Acai, "Blended" wasn't what I was used to. Most of the bowls are actually blended smoothie bowls, hence the name "Blended." We had a group of 9, and my family were all surprised that only the Brazilian was what we expected of an Acai bowl. The other ones were good, we got the Shore, Badger, Peanut Butter and Brazilian. I got the Peanut Butter bowl--my kids all tasted it and said it was really good, 2nd best after the Brazilian, but we couldn't taste the acai. They thought the Shore and Badger were good, but wished they had gotten the Brazilian. I didn't taste the Brazilian but my daughter said it was good, though not quite as good as the places back home. Prices are higher than what we're used to for Acai bowls also, but I think that's due to using organic ingredients. The place was full of people, so definitely popular. Took about 20 minutes for our large order. Agave is available for a vegan option. Good place for a cool treat, just read the menu carefully and have the right expectations! read more

I have discovered the new office favorite!! If you would have told me I could eat a smoothy for lunch and feel full, then I would give you some sort of cliche response of disbelief. When I brought my first bowl back and was asked to describe what I was eating, I realized I didn't actually know, so I called it yogurtie-smoothie-goodness. Translation? Heaven. The yogurt base, is actually a special smoothie blend (you really don't need to also order a smoothie... but you totally can too). They talk a lot about their MAQ 7 which is some sort of super fruit blend. MAQ 7 seems to be in just about everything. The first visit I had the North Shore Original bowl (regular sized - which is lunch sized, trust me) and added strawberries to the mix. I also ordered a Berry Blast Smoothie, because the smoothie was the original purpose of visiting. Second visit, as tempting as it was to order the same thing, i knew I should try something else. Enter the Red Zinger. Raspberries were the real star on this one. I was skeptical about coconut water, because that alone is not something I enjoy. But in this blend, I didn't even notice its existence. One last thing to mention is that their bowls have awesome toppings on top. This fact alone is not earth shattering.
