My wife, 4yo son, and I went here on Saturday night and absolutely loved everything about this place! As soon as we walked in we were greeted by our server (so sorry, I forgot her name). She served us some citrus water which was refreshing and gave us some great food recommendations including the carbonara which my wife ended up ordering. She was great with our son, taking time to ask him questions and bring him a coloring book and crayons. He got the kids pasta which was surprisingly good! We are used to getting boring old kids pasta at restaurants where the sauce tastes like it is straight out of a bottle. This tasted homemade and our son ate the whole thing! I ordered the Italian "beef" with a side of garlic roasted brussel sprouts and it was incredible! All three of us loved our meals. Reservations are recommended for anyone trying to sneak in a meal or two before they close, as it was completely full on a Wednesday at lunch. This is a go-to spot for me, I've never had a bad dish. They used to carry Dante Merlot wine, which I liked; but whatever Theresa recommended was a good alternative. She is the sweetest waitress ever, and takes great care of us every time. I like that they have outdoor seating when it's nice out and I've had groups of up to 10 here without issue. Cafe Manna is our go to vegetarian restaurant and is quickly becoming one of the only vegetarian restaurants in the area. They always have a great variety of dishes including some monthly specials and an everyday menu with some of my favs. I tried the Spinach Artichoke grilled cheese this time and it was awesome. Lots of flavor with fresh ingredients and a nice addition of roasted asparagus. Love the combination of provolone, mozzarella, parmesan and cream cheese. And grilled perfectly on Rocket Baby Bakery bread. It was still nice out so we were able to sit outside on the patio which I never realized they had. Bonus. I also like the fact that they have a nice selection of craft beers and wine. We finished our meal with the GINGER PLUM CAKE and OMG it was to die for. read more

Next time I would make sure to get more sauce. The Black Bean and Mushroom burger was good too! I liked the vegan pistachio cranberry cookie more than chocolate pistachio tart. Omg this place is amazing! I wanted everything on the menu, so I did what I always do and just got something off the "seasonal specials" - the Orecchiette Pasta was pan roasted zucchini, sweet corn, cipollini onions and fresh arugula are combined with orecchiette pasta and tossed in a parmesan truffle cream sauce, finished with tomato confit and micro greens. It was so good. It was way too much food, but I was able to take it to go, and it made for wonderful leftovers when I was hungry again later. I also ended up getting lemonade and tea, because all the options were too good to pass up on. Our server was phenomenal and even took a photo of the three of us because it was a little reunion of ladies I haven't seen in a long time. I was only in town for a couple of week and was excited to find this vegan gem. Crab Cakes - served with a garlic aoili were very good. I got extra aioli because I'm saucy and I always do. Would order again. Potato Skins - these are basically little guacamole boats and I loved them! I never ate cheese and haven't had pork since I was a wee thing, so I've never had a "classic" potato skin, so their version was perfect for me. Served with a sriracha aioli for added flavor. I do feel like it's missing something, but I don't know what it is. (It also comes with a pico de gallo, which I omitted) Cherry Rhubarb Crisp - served warm with a vegan gelato. The fruit was so fresh, as if had just been picked before it reached my bowl. That vanilla bean gelato was so creamy and sweet; it was exemplary. Fresh food. Exciting flavors and creative plates. Service was great, especially with just one server working her tushy off. There is a lovely outdoor patio, which was perfect during the late summer weather. This place could benefit from a formatting change; building out the front counter for drink preparation and a "fast casual" concept so patrons can order and pay for their food would eliminate the need for one overworked waitress and one hostess, and a long wait, which is what we experienced at out visit. There's very minimal ambiance anyways, and the food does take center stage, so I don't think any business would be lost if they took orders at the front and brought food out separately. read more

Stopped here for lunch before heading home from Milwaukee and was super impressed! Everything is vegetarian and at the time of writing most items can be made vegan. They only had 1-2 items that were labeled as "raw". Nearly all of us had the "Peace Bowl" and it was really good! I'd strongly recommend asking for a little hot sauce though. The coffee was good as was the water (infused with orange!) and our waitress was friendly and quick even though it was packed. The only complaint I had was that it was a little on the pricey side, I'd say you can expect to spend $20-25 per person here, easily, but worth it for the quality. read more

We live in the Columbus Oh area. We travel to Wisconsin at least once a year, because it's such a wonderful place! It is a land of milk, cheese, and meat!!! Of course we are Vegan. While delicious, this was a classic case of "check the menu online before coming for dinner". The prices were absolutely OUTRAGEOUS. The ambiance was beautiful and simple, nice and clean. The tables were set thoughtfully. They were trying to be fancy by offering us cucumber water, but there was no sign of any cucumber flavor in the room-temp water. We tried the special drink, a hibiscus margarita. It was garnished with a dehydrated (think rock-hard) slice of orange that, while beautiful in presentation, I don't like inedible garnishes. The drink was tasty. For food, we started with the "Crab Cakes". They were made with chickpeas and hearts of palm and were absolutely incredible. However, for SIXTEEN DOLLARS there were three of them, and the price reflected actually having crab in them, not veggies. For our entrees, we ordered the Thai Peanut Cauliflower ($19) and the special Burrito Bowl ($19). The cauliflower bowl was delicious, but they didn't mention in the description that the 'orange tamari glaze' was full of red pepper flakes - the point my mouth was on fire and I was wiping them off whenever I could. I think it would have been more successful without the extreme heat. The burrito bowl special was humongous - I'm talking about 3-4 meals worth of food. It was the same price as mine so I was disappointed to see the size of my portion compared to hers. We ended up spending a fortune, mostly liking our food, and enjoying the service and atmosphere, but leaving with a little bit of sticker shock. Loved our first visit here! Vegetarians rejoice! Cafe Manna in Brookfield serves inventive vegetarian (and some Vegan) fare in a relaxed atmosphere. Knowledgeable but not snooty, waitstaff were great, helpful, informative, quick to serve. My pot pie of fall root vegetables was hearty! And amazingly delicious. It paired well with a Pumpkin Lager from Lakefront Brewing. A variety of juices also awaits you at Cafe Manna. Our dessert of the Chocolado was incredibly rich. (Two creamy chocolate avocado truffles covered in a rich chocolate ganache.) We were happy that our discount City Tin coaster brought us here for the first but definitely not the last time. read more

Café Manna was such an incredible surprise! I cannot say how much we enjoyed our dinner here. The waitstaff is extremely welcoming and friendly. They gave some wonderful menu suggestions. This is a vegetarian and vegan restaurant that will delight absolutely everyone in your dining party (even meat eaters)! Everything was so beautifully presented and flavorful. We tried the Key Lime pie for dessert, which I highly recommend! It was creamy and textured with perfect crust. . Great food, crotchety chef. We visited tonight with another family. Between the two families we had two, 2 year old boys and a baby. The boys were being loud in a developmentally appropriate way. There were being silly and goofy (not throwing tantrums). When they would get loud we would remind them to use inside voices and work with them on appropriate dining behaviors. The chef came out with a scowl on his face and said "you need to do something about this" and pointed at the boys. If he had watched out table for even two second he would have seen that we were working were in fact doing something about it. Children should be treated better than that when they are learning to be members of a community. Children learn appropriate behaviors through experiences and guidance not scowls and harsh words. If you are considering coming here with small children learning how to behave in public or neurodivergent family members I would reconsider. Not very welcoming. That said, food was great and waitresses were awesome. read more

Always an outstanding experience! The current fall specials are wonderful. Roasted Butternut Squash Cavatappi is the perfect blend of warm fall flavors. I had the vegan version and it was delicious. My friend had the pear brie sandwich with roasted vegetables that she thoroughly enjoyed. Their pastry chef is back and she if killing it! The ginger plum cake made me want to lick the plate! I had the EXOTIC- Mixed greens dressed in our mango-lime vinaigrette. Topped with avocado, mango, jicama, tomato, green onion, cucumber and quinoa are sprinkled with pepitas and currants. I didn't even need the dressing. This was so delicious! My husband has the CAESAR -This unique chopped salad is served with our house made Caesar dressing, fresh avocado , tomato and parmesan cheese. Had a business lunch today with someone who is a regular at Cafe Manna! She is definitely onto something as it was an enjoyable meal. Partially because of her regularity, but I imagine in general, my colleague and I had fantastic service. The waitress provided samples of beverages and gave very attentive service. I sampled and then got the limonada drink, as well as the peace bowl with tempeh and a chocolate chip cookie tort for a take-home dessert! The beverage and meal tasted extremely healthy and local. Fantastic flavor and textures in the peace bowl. I am not a vegetarian and not a frequent tempeh consumer, but it was done right in this dish. Limonada was more of a "green juice" but was satisfying. Maybe could have been more chilled or on ice. My colleague suggested hearing the desserts and we both took items to go. My tort sat in the car for about six hours after lunch as we had an event, but it seemed to hold up. The first bite was tasty - nothing out of this world, but good. Overall, it was a tasty, healthy, and pretty pricey but satisfying lunch. read more
