We arrived for the lunch combo deal. As always, service was fantastic. We ordered the Up in Smoke (BBQ bacon burger) and the Big Lebowski (jackfruit Philly cheesesteak). We had their fries and each of today's lemonade flavors (strawberry and blue raspberry). Their lemonades are what you need on a hot day. They pair perfectly with the food and it was a little slice of summertime heaven sipping on those sweet drinks. The fries are second to none. Waffle-style, hot, crispy as can be, and seasoned so perfectly that you don't even need ketchup. They give you some just in case, though. The Big Lebowski is my wife's favorite. She usually gets it and always loves it. The Up in Smoke was an architectural marvel of delicious engineering. Beyond burger, cheese, pickle, onions, and lettuce, topped with the nicest barbecue sauce you'll ever meet, perfectly smoky bacon, and the crispiest onion rings you'll ever run into. I skipped the tomato, as I have a philosophical disagreement with eating them. Each bite of the burger sent me soaring through fluffy clouds of culinary nirvana. How could each bite be as good as the last? As unbelievable as it may be, it's true. You literally savor each and every bite. Sitting on their patio on a sunny summer day and eating the best burger and fries you've ever had, while quenching your thirst with that perfect lemonade, is what summers in Milwaukee were made for. Twisted Plants in a small restaurant, right on the corner of 62nd & Lincoln. There is a small parking lot behind the building, but plenty of street parking is also available. Inside there is bar seating enough for 6 people, and there are three tables on the patio as well. There was a little bit of a wait on food, but it did come out hot, and service was friendly. I started with the Carrot Cake shake, which was SO GOOD! If you are a fan of carrot cake, this is a MUST! It was nice and thick, but not so thick that you couldn't drink it with a straw. Next, I had the Cauliflower Bites and Superbad burger. The Cauliflower was nicely breaded, and tender yet firm. The Superbad is perfect for anyone looking for a little spice to their burger, and yet isn't too powerful. My friend ordered the Mozz Sticks, and we admittedly were pleasantly surprised by how delicious they were. The "cheese" was super smooth and melty, while the outside coating was crispy and held it all together beautifully. The waffles fries (which came as part of my "combo") were large, crisp and well seasoned. I don't generally visit places like Twisted Plants, but I thought it was fantastic. Arrived just at opening. Ordered our item of choice and then extra food. The wait time was over 30 minutes for two burgers, cauliflower bites and a pizza. The cauliflower bites were good, but the pizza was the star of the show. The burgers, just not our first choice for a burger. Not bad though. The staff was nice. Helpful. The facility was clean. I'm a big fan of Twisted Plants and happy to have this location that's a bit more convenient for me than their other two. Twisted Plants serves up delicious fast casual eats. Truly, they serve up some of the best vegan burgers in the Milwaukee metro. More than that, I'd say they serve up some of the best dang burgers in town, vegan or no. I've tried pretty close to everything on the menu and it's all outstanding. From sides to mains to milkshakes--it's all great. You really can't go wrong with your order. Nice event. We arrived just as they were opening causing the wait time to be over 30 minutes. The pizza was amazing. Those flavors blended so well. We also tried two burgers. Not for us, but they were not bad. We asked for the food to go as the wait time was so long and also asked for the burgers to be cut in half. My new favorite burger place. It's almost hard to believe these burgers are plant based and vegan. They have so much flavor and are so juicy. I'm so glad they opened a place in West Allis since I would usually just order when they had the food trailer out. I had the Superbad burger and it totally lived up to its description, Grilled Onions, Jalapeños, Chipotle Ranch,Plant Based Patty, Pepper Jack Cheese. Yum! Came here randomly one night from catching up with my friend. We wanted to try their desserts after dinner. She ordered their dirt cake shake and enjoyed it, but it wasn't her favorite. I ordered their ice cream, the cookies and cream version. They didn't really have options for toppings to add like caramel or hot fudge, it was a different type of syrup, so not much flexibility there. The menu is pretty much premade how it comes, but the names were fun. The ice cream looked good, but the flavor was unexpected. It tasted a little chalky, frozen, not as creamy or rich as regular ice cream. It had an aftertaste that reminded me of protein powder. This is probably due to it being vegan. Twisted Plants has slowly become one of my favorite spots for a burger in Milwaukee. Absolutely incredible flavor... it's difficult to describe how fantastic the ingredients work together and it blows my mind that it is vegan! My go-to is the Pineapple Express burger - it's what I've ordered for friends that are skeptical of vegan food and it is a sure fire winner. Waffle fries are always top notch as well as the cauliflower bites - that sweet chili sauce paired with their homemade ranch dipping sauce is *chef's kiss* I also tried the new chicken bacon ranch pizza - also vegan - it is a much larger portion than I anticipated and also delicious! Think crust loaded with "chicken" and "bacon" with the cream ranch sauce and cheese. YUM! The new West Allis location has limited indoor seating along the windows and outdoor patio seating. It is very small inside and everything is made to order, so it may take 30 minutes to get food if you stop by during a rush. It is much easier to park at this location than the Brady Street location, and I plan on stopping by anytime my travels take me to this area of Milwaukee. 5 stars for amazing vegan food!! read more

We went here because we had a coupon for free cauliflower bites. Service was friendly and it probably took 20 minutes to get our food, but it was fresh and made to order. My boyfriend and I got the Friday burger and up in smoke burger. I will say neither of us are vegetarians, so the burgers did taste different from a meat burger(which was expected). They were good and had lots of flavor but definitely different. The cauliflower bites were AMAZING! I would go back for those! I also thoroughly enjoyed their ranch! I love this little food joint. It is perfect for me as all the food is vegan and I have a lot of stomach issues and allergies. it's great to have a place where I do not have to worry about what I'm eating. The cauliflower bites were amazing very flavorful and a little bit spicy. The fries nice and crispy. The chicken and bacon pizza was actually really yummy with a hint of sweet due to the BBQ. The place was small but they have a seating area outside. The decorations are vibrant in color making the place pretty special. This is a tiny restaurant with seating arrangements along the windows only. It appeared to be more of a take out place as it is definitely not a sit-down restaurant. In spite of this, it is still worth going to because the food is amazing! It's all plant-based, including the shakes. The onion rings and waffle fries are huge and cooked to perfection. Our group had various burgers and they all commented on how good they were. One person in our group had the BBQ jackfruit sandwich and he said it was " more than spicy". I had a chocolate caramel shake ( who would've guessed that it was made with oat milk?) and it was delicious! Service is NOT fast! We went on Saturday night and the customers just kept on coming until after 8:30. But the wait is worth it! They make these meals one at a time and from what I saw, there were only two cooks, but these guys are good and efficient. Be sure to bring cash if you want to avoid the add-on fee for any other kind of payment. We drove nearly an hour to get there, but it was worth it. This was my first time at this location. I really wanted the vegan chicken sandwich, which they were out of. Employee said they could do 3 chicken tenders in place of a patty, agreed, but they only did two w a big gap in the center. I also got a vegan shake w almond milk base, but it's literally just almond milk & the flavoring of your "shake" choice, liquid 100%. There was a family in there with two toddlers before I arrived, the order took 30mins to make and the kids screamed the entire time in the small space make my eyes twitch. The employees ordered a pepperoni pizza which was odd given the "vegan" nuance of business. I should've just gone to Culver's for a veggie burger meal with fries for half the price and double the food. I ended up going afterwards to get fries.
