First time here by myself and since I was not too hungry only got a ceviche this time. The dish is fresh and citrusy. I would like to go back and try more food next time.

I've always ordered food delivery from here and thought it was time to visit. What a great decision. It's a great little place. The ambiance is handled nicely by the curtains between the tables and the fireplace on the television, trust me it works. My wife had the Tacu Tacu with grilled steak and I had Inka Paella. They were awesome dishes. I've had Paella in a few different countries and this ranks right up there with great flavors and portions. My wife's Tacu Tacu came with grilled steak. She loved every bite. Prices were very reasonable. I don't think will be ordering out anymore. This is a new spot for us to go to. Thanks for a great night and meal.

I had an amazing experience here! Every item we ordered was delicious and fulfilling. We ordered so much food and it was all delicious. Left feeling full, but not bloated. The sangria pitcher was a great deal. The place was very clean and welcoming. Every server was very friendly and accomodating.

The food is so good here! I will need to come back for more! I really liked the seafood/shellfish options! The pisco sour was very refreshing too!

Went to get lunch here on a Saturday at noon. When I walked into this quaint restaurant, it wasn't too busy, but that quickly changed. The server was really nice and told me to sit where I wanted to. Once my sister arrived, we ordered a half pitcher of sangria and some chicken fried rice and tilapia fried rice. It only took about 15-20 minutes to get the food. My sister was nervous about trying something new, but once she had a bite of her food, she immediately fell in love. My chicken was so juicy and moist. The rice was good as well. Just and FYI, the meat is not chopped up and mixed in with the rice, but rather laid on top in larger pieces. In total, this place was good and I would definitely return to try more of their menu options.

This is without a doubt one of the best gems Milwaukee has to offer when it comes to Latin American food. The Peruvian ceviche and Bistec a lo Pobre were phenomenal. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare with a delicious egg on top. Service also was great, and our waiter was very attentive. Regarding the ambience, the building is a bit small but it gives it a very "home cooked meal" vibe that I think only adds to the charm of the overall experience. Would definitely come here again.

FOOD: Chef Paz is somewhere you go when you've got an appetite. The empanadas were delicious! Albeit they're a wee oily. I recommend eating these with a napkin. I ordered the salchipapas next. They were pretty decent. I wish the fries were crispier but the flavors were there. The entree was the best part. I love a good runny egg. The flavors married well together. On a personal note, the dish was slightly salty to me. SERVICE: Both the man and woman running the restaurant are so quick. They take plates and cups away quickly. They're very kind. 10/10 will be back here again.

Stopped on a Saturday afternoon with my daughter to get a quick bite. The restaurant is cozy and was quite busy for an afternoon. My daughter is a vegetarian, and we ordered appetizers to share. First time tasting Yuca and it was delicious. We enjoyed everything we tried and will be back again.

I can't believe that I can walk to this place and it's been on my foodie bucket list for ever and I'm just getting over. The place is small and charming with tables and booths and all ethnic people eating so you know it's going to be good. The menu has amazing dishes but I could only have one so it's going to be hard to choose so let's order a Peruvian cocktail the pisco sour in passion fruit flavor, small is a 1/2 pitcher so bring it on. OMG the pisco sour is fu#king delicious. I ordered the Inka paella with shrimp, calamari and mussels which is a seafood rice dish. It came piping hot to my table and looked great. My first thought was that's it's seasoned nicely and tasty. It's actually very good with perfect cooked seafood and the calamari wasn't a rubber band like some places but the mussels were over cooked because it was on the chewy side, no big deal. The shrimp was tail on so you have to get your hands in the plate. Overall my lunch and cocktails were pretty good and I'm so glad that I finally stopped over and checked them out.

Came on a Monday night with a friend. Food: Really like the menu. Lots of diversity to choose from, and the prices are reasonable. We started with a couple of specialty cocktails. I had the Sazerac, and my friend had the OG Old Fashioned. Both were well made, and there was plenty of alcohol in each. For an appetizer, we got the Frogs on the Mound, which, as you can imagine, is 1/2 lb of frog legs on haystack onion rings. I haven't had frog legs in a while, and I thought these were very good. The breading was light, well seasoned, and not overcooked. The haystack onion rings were just okay. They could have been hotter and maybe seasoned (or just salted) a bit more. For our entrees, I got the Blackened Catfish, and he got the Grouper Tacos. Both of these meals were also very good. The blackened fish was the best part of my meal. It was excellently seasoned, cooked to the right temperature, and moist and flaky. Delicious! The collard greens were good, but would have been better with just a bit more pork. More pork is always better. The rice and beans were good too, but the temperature was less than hot. My friend enjoyed his Grouper Tacos, and the bite he shared with me was very good, except for the green peppers. I much prefer orange or yellow peppers, but I realize that's a personal taste issue. The tacos tasted fresh, the fish was tender, and the portions were good. Service: The place was about a quarter full. Even though we weren't in a hurry, the service got off to a bit of a slow start. After getting waters and menus, it took a while for our server to get back to us. I started to worry that this might be an issue for the rest of the evening, so I made a point of getting their attention. After that, things went smoothly. After ordering appetizers and entrees, the food came out in a timely fashion. All the staff we interacted with were helpful and friendly. Thanks, Sarah 1 and Sarah 2 :) Atmosphere: Besides the separate bar area, the dining room is a big open space with lots of four-top tables spread around. Around the walls there are posters, art pieces, and plenty of Mardi Gras beads. I wasn't sure at the time, but there was something a bit cramped about the interior. After looking at the pictures, I think it might have to do with the low, tiled ceiling. (I think this is the first time I have ever mentioned something about a tiled ceiling.) On this night, it was quiet and easy to have a comfortable conversation. Glad that we finally stopped in for a meal. With the exception of the initial service delay and some small issues with a couple of food items, it was a very good meal. Would definitely want to stop back again to try other parts of the menu.

The colors, the well-placed low lighting, the appropriate volume of cajun music ... all done in excellent taste. The waitstaff is INCREDIBLE. They all seem to be having a great time, when it's slow, and when it's busy, which is important to see; plus, they help each other out. Waiters, bartenders, bussers, hosts, food-runners - they're often smiling and helpful to anyone. Not only did our waiter Scotty take amazing care of us (a group of 10 on a Saturday night, all arriving at different times; and he had many other tables besides us), but his teammates helped bring drinks, clear the table, and our deliver our food. Everything was timely, fresh, and as far as I know, no errors were made with drinks or food. We were all quite satisfied with our meal. The reason I give 3 stars is, for some reason I do not understand, near the end of our meal, we heard a man yelling quite loudly from the kitchen area AT OUR SERVER. The man (manager I assume) was insisting that Scotty was not attentive to us (and I can't discern a single reason why this would be claimed). Even if he noticed something we didn't -- it could have been a moment of quiet criticism, but this dude turned it into a screaming fit. And he could not have been more wrong. In fact overhearing this exchange (right around the corner, within full earshot of us and the back half of the restaurant) was the ONLY thing that soured our otherwise amazing experience. We then watched who I assume was the same guy (red-faced and angry) sit down at a table very close to us, and our server return a moment later somewhat shaken up. It was awful. We made sure to congratulate him loudly on his impeccable service after that. I don't know if the manager heard or not. But one can hope. This was not my first time here, but it was the first time I've experienced anything like this. Like I said, the team seems solid, our service is always timely and kind (and often, incredibly FUN) even when they're PACKED, the food is bangin', the oysters are fresh and delicious, and EVERYTHING is well priced & spiced! So we will be back. But we really hated seeing our waiter treated like that. For anyone who doesn't know - waiters in WI currently make $2.33/hour. This is below the federal wage rate of $7.25/hour for the same job. They survive off your tips. If they're good, they're great, and GOD BLESS THEM - they must do what they do because they love people. This manager did not seem to appreciate what he had right in front of him. But we did!!!! GO SCOTTY GOOOOO

Needless to say, it was crowded and lively, but our table was waiting for us and we were sat immediately. Our server was friendly, attentive, and very helpful with our menu choices, which were limited due to their Madi Gras-only offerings, but also plentiful and varied. My husband decided on the jambalaya, I went with the crawfish étouffée, and we split the roasted Cajun cauliflower as an appetizer. While it's hard for this kind of stew-like, saucy, veggie/sausage/seafood over rice mixtures to present beautifully, everything looked, smelled, and tasted delicious. The jambalaya had a little more of a kick than I prefer, but my husband loved it and my crawfish étouffée had the perfect amount of spice without being spicy. The roasted cauliflower was cooked to perfection and was the perfect way to start the meal. Not pictured is the bananas foster bread pudding that was the perfect way to end it. We both left with extra food to take home and the memory of a wonderful meal and great experience.

St. Paul Fish Market is located inside the very busy and popular Milwaukee Public Market indoor shopping complex downtown. It reminds me of the Pike Place Fish Market in Seattle. The only parking option that I am aware of is metered street parking. The building has 2 levels but the 1st floor is where most of the business are. It appeared to me that St. Paul's is the most popular business there. It is a seafood restaurant and fresh fish market. They have a small sit down area for table service dining or you can order your food to go at the counter. After being seated and reviewing the menu I decided to order the same meal I had over 11 years ago. I went with a bowl of clam chowder for $8 to start and then added a fried grouper sandwich ($16) with french fries for another $2.50. The chowder was perfect. Flavorful, delicious and I wanted more (5). The sandwich also was delicious and satisfying made with quality fish, lettuce, tomato, and bread. However while it tasted very good halfway through eating it the bread bun started to disintegrate and then quickly turned to mush before I could finish. Then I needed a fork to finish it. It got messy and I don't like that in a sandwich. It's only for that reason I give an overall 4 score instead of a 5. The french fries were very good tasting too but I had ordered too much food and only had room for a few of them. The table service was very warm and friendly. I believe St. Paul's is a very good choice for a casual seafood meal but please buy more sturdy buns!
