Friendly staff and amazing tasty food. I had a cold and even then I was still able to smell and taste the flavor! I can't imagine how much delectable it would be if I wasn't sick! Pay as you can afford place, I think this is the first place of its kind I've ever been to; it's neat to come here and realize this place would thrive on trust that people would pay however they see fit. The food is worth every whatever you can afford penny! Cozy and quaint places this place is clean and has cute interiors decorations. The chef was very warm and friendly too!

#vegan Overall great placed, few reasons for a mixed review. I love the concept -pay what you want. Plus it is vegan, woo! I have had a few things Ive enjoyed, few I havent ... they did a breaded fried veggie dish - SO GOOD!!! I'd say to order ahead because sometimes there can be await. Again overall good food. Great people. The first time I went I got a burger, drink and a dessert so I paid a good amount. Unfortunately the size of the items was very tiny so I felt a little jipped. I know I will have probably helped to pay for another persons meal but I just feel anxious now because I want to be fair but also not pay 10$ for an item the size of my thumb. So it is a little tricky. It is close to work so I will continue to try new items. Also... check their open schedule!

OMG. I just love it here. Love. Tricklebee is a pay what you can cafe. There is soulful, soft music playing. Fresh, lively plants throughout. Window curtains. A Black Lives Matter sign on the wall. Also, I'm coming back to purchase holiday gifts. They have bags of coffee, fresh, local honey, handmade jewelry, locally made cookbooks and wonderfully astute children's books. Everytime that I eat here I " yumm" out loud before I realize that I'm doing it. The menu is unique every day and the menu utilizes local produce and organic products. Have you ever wanted to tip the chef? I did today at Tricklebee. The entire cafe is vegetarian and there are many vegan options There is hot coffee and hot tea to drink. This weekend, I had tea from Alice's Garden. It was so good and so comforting. Have you been to Alice's Garden? It's one of my favorite places.

The food is what you want it to be in that it can all be made vegan, or not! Everyone is happy this way. We watched the first half of the game while enjoying our food with our infant. Another large family did the same while everyone laughed and talked and ate. Great vibe. My complaints are prices being a bit high but food costs are insane these days so it is what is on that. The other note is that when the check came for the 98% vegan lunch, the mints provided were not vegan. Little details like that can get ya but over all very happy with the experience! We will be back for sure as we felt very welcome and the food was

I came in with not the highest of expectations cause I haven't had the best experience with vegan food, but the flavor, textures and attention to detail to even the sauces was immaculate. The service here is really nice and getting vegan or meat options doesn't come with extra charge (I got vegan chorizo as my meat). At the moment it's not super busy with activity but once people in campus dabble in more, I can see this being a hit soon. The only heads up I'll give is that the kitchen staff is pretty small so the order took a while, but honestly how the food turned out was worth it. Next time my family comes up to Milwaukee I'm taking them here! Until then, this'll be my weekly burrito fix for the semester!

Excellent Lake Perch for Friday Fish Fry!…read more Combine excellent fare w good bartop energy and great service (Daniel) it adds up to 5-Stars. This place is not a secret as packed busy on a Friday early afternoon. The regulars were welcoming and fun. I had to have my Lake Perch fix and Swingin' Door delivered. The perch was fresh and lightly breaded. I tend to overdo it when in Wisco and had a clam chowder as a starter. The GF had the Rueben which also served as breckie snack the next day. My future semi-regular stop when in MKE.

I surprisingly don't have many options in my "MKE - Fish Fry" collection that are near downtown, but Swinging Door Exchange was one of them. I was pressed for time, so I placed a to go order rather than dining in. I got the combo fish fry (two pieces of cod, two pieces of perch, and three fried shrimp) with potato pancakes. I was also very easily talked into the half rack rib appetizer. The ribs were good, even though I prefer sauce that's more sweet and smokey. Their sauce was on the tangy side with a tease of spice that really only became noticeable when the majority of the half rack was gone. If I were in the mood for ribs as my main meal, I'd consider getting theirs as an entree. The two potato pancakes weren't homemade; instead, they were premade hash brown patties that some other restaurants also serve with their fish frys. These were perfectly acceptable in lieu of homemade pancakes. The cod tasted great, but the breading didn't hold up very well. Either the fish itself was too wet or the two block walk back to my car allowed for condensation to wreck it or possibly both. The perch was not yellow lake perch but probably something like pike perch. Even though both kinds of fish and the shrimp were all good sized portions, $29 feels like a lot. I wouldn't say no to it, though, if I were dining in next time and avoid the extra cost of their takeout fee. Shout-out to the bartenders working that night. The bar area was absolutely packed, but both of the ones I talked to about placing my order were friendly and helpful even with being super busy.

The Margherita pizza ($20) has a generous amount of fresh mozzarella and a perfect layer of sweet-leaning tomato sauce. The service was outstanding. He recommended some great options. My colleague and I ended up splitting the burrata e pomodorini salad, Doppia Calabrese pizza, and for dessert, Tartufo Gelato. The burrata e pomodorini was so fresh and seasoned beautifully. The Doppia Calabrese pizza was hot and fresh. The crust was chewy and crisp. The hot honey drizzle on the pizza was the icing on the cake, or pizza! Delicious! The Tartufo Gelato to end the meal was fantastic. It was creamy, rich and the hazelnuts gave it the crunchy texture. The ambience was pleasing. Having seats by the pizza bar and watching the magic happen was very entertaining. We will definitely be back in May when we come back for a conference. We can't wait! I would 100% recommend San Giorgio Pizzeria to everyone. Next time I go, I want to try the pasta.
