I was not expecting the steak served on top of a biscuit like base and that was rather good actually. I have two tests for a breakfast place. The eggs and the potatoes. The eggs were perfectly and properly cooked: score! The potatoes were wonderfully crispy and properly tender, however they were missing salt: mixed results. Took the leftovers home and heated them up in a pan the next day and added some garlic salt and those potatoes came to life. So good! The service was quick, effective, and I never worried about my coffee cup getting empty. Our server was friendly and the host sat us quickly. This is perfect. The only improvement necessary is the seasoning on the potatoes. I'll definitely be back.

Highly recommend getting it if your a fan of brussel sprouts and just looking for a different not fries side that also isn't just kind of a basic side salad (nothing wrong with that but I mean this is fun and still on the veggie side of things!)

So I ordered a muffeletta as I'd not had one since a trip to New Orleans a few years ago - and I remembered loving that little sammich! I got it - unwrapped it back at the office- and it looked and smelled the part! A good sign, right? Well - not quite so fast - while the flavor was mostly ok, it was the bun that was holding up a perfect score. Kind of was falling apart and tasty kinda corn-like. I still scarfed it down because- damn - I was hungry after all! But had to drop a point for the bun which seemed to be disintegrating faster than I could eat it! Nice - fix that bun up and you'll get a perfect five next time!

There was no one in there. We were the only customers. Very talkative guy. We didn't know what to expect so we took a minute reviewing the menu. We went ahead and ordered two turkey sandwiches. Options for bread are white wheat or rye. Other than that, we were only asked if mayo, lettuce and tomato were OK. Gus is very friendly saying we are going to love it!!! So we sat down the sandwiches came out freshly done. You can tell he takes a lot of pride in building his sandwiches. My boyfriend really enjoyed his sandwich. It's exactly what he was looking for. For my personal review I wouldn't really say this is my favorite. It was just regular white bread stacked high with three slices of cheese, a ton of lettuce and a stack of turkey. Way too big for me. I would've preferred sourdough bread maybe some pickles and toasted? Maybe some avocado and other add on options so that you can build your sandwich..... And of course a lighter sandwich. I definitely had to take the other half to go, but I wasn't really impressed. To be quite honest i could have just made a regular sandwich at home just like this. There wasn't anything special. I wouldn't spend my money on something that I could make at home. For any of those that enjoy just basic sandwiches like this i would say this should be your to go spot to help support the owners. Hours are short so you have to make sure you make your way early. Again, I'm not taking away from the fact that this is a great lunch spot and the owners deserve all the praise and business. You can tell they genuinely care. There is plenty of seating in here. Also, while other comments were made, Gus, definitely thanks you for your business quite a few times too.

Pavlovian response (read: classical conditioning)…read more "Classical conditioning (also Pavlovian conditioning or respondent conditioning) is a form of learning in which the conditioned stimulus or CS, comes to signal the occurrence of a second stimulus, the unconditioned stimulus or US. (A stimulus is a factor that causes a response in an organism.) The conditioned response is the learned response to the previously neutral stimulus.[1] The US is usually a biologically significant stimulus such as food or pain that elicits a response from the start; this is called the unconditioned response or UR. The CS usually produces no particular response at first, but after conditioning it elicits the conditioned response or CR. Classical conditioning differs from operant or instrumental conditioning, in which behavior emitted by the subject is strengthened or weakened by its consequences (i.e. reward or punishment).[2]" Enter, Pacific Wraps. My CS? Hearing someone utter the words "Pacific Wraps." Someone alluding to "that wrap place in the union." Anything comparable. My US? Uncontrollable salivation. Let's back up the proverbial bus here to provide a bit of context for a place which many Milwaukeeans over the age of 23 may not know about. Pacific Wraps = wrap joint in the UWM Union food court. There's really nothing special about it, I assure you... though they have lots of options and some are healthy/inventive or whatever. Use your Panther Card if you're like 20 and mommy and daddy load it for you, or pay something like six or seven bucks for any of their myriad wrap choices: Thai Chicken, Chili-Hummus, the Firecracker, Mandarin Chicken Salad, Korean, Vegan Falafel... I could go on, but I'll stop with the mention of THE MONTEREY. I am a disgusting human because I loved and still love the Monterey wrap from Pacific Wraps. I am even more disgusting because sometimes I would sub in CRISPY (read: fried) chicken instead of the grilled. Let's talk about how perfectly pedestrian this piece is regardless: chicken, cheddar, bacon, rice, and ranch all wrapped up together in a delicious, delicious gut-bomb of a thing. You wouldn't think something so plain and so fast-food-esque could be so delicious, would you? You're wrong, though. I was thrilled, however, to learn the other evening over drinks and bites post-Brew City Bash II that both my Yelp-tern Jess S and elite extraordinaire Shane H share in my secret Monterey/Pacific Wraps shame. I am alone no longer! I am not a secret disgusting monster! Shane went on to inform me that, sometimes, Pacific Wraps runs an AVOCADO MONTEREY special. Shane. I may or may not head to Pacific Wraps today and battle the throngs of 19-year olds. I'm almost ten years older than them now, and IDGAF about being in the student union anymore. Wait. There's so much variety, as far as meat, no meat, gluten-free, spicy, mild, rice, no rice, etc. You really CAN have it all! The crew that works here obviously changes a lot since it is staffed by students, but they generally are pretty good at what they're doing. If they are out of a particular item, they are very good at suggesting alternatives. Sometimes you get one worker who just really, really, has no idea how to wrap a wrap. It is unfortunate and sometimes messy, but you know what? It still tastes the same! Eat it and go about your day! I recommend the Monterrey (rice, grilled chicken, bacon, ranch)! It's heaven in a cylinder!
