Rocket Baby is one of my favorite places to stop by for pastries before work! They have a variety of different pastries and bread, breakfast food items, and drinks. My favorites are their danishes, morning bun, and babkas. I love that they also have fun seasonal items as well. I typically stop by around 8:00am during the weekdays and there have been times where the space is packed. If you're in a rush, they also take orders online for pick up. You can either come or use the outside pickup window for your order. While the seating inside is limited, they have a huge patio space! I definitely want to stop by sometime in the spring/summer. :-) read more

Bakery items did not last long enough to be photographed teehee! I scored a Goodie Bag the other day with Rocket Baby Bakery and woah! First off crazy amazing deal and easy process to pick up my bag. I ordered a large bag - if you're unfamiliar it's like a mystery bag and helps local businesses sell unsold food items to not create waste. The bag had a loaf of white bread, two cranberry orange muffins, monkey bread!!! and this delicious swirled croissant cinnamon pastry thing. read more

This a neighborhood favorite! Their breads and pastries are top tier and baked fresh. Parking is street parking. They are across the street from Cranky Al's. The service is great, quick and straight to the point. If you feel overwhelmed, take some time and take a look at the display of treats and the menu first. Highly recommend just writing down what you want before you go up and order. Ambiance, it is small, few tables. They do have a restroom for customers. I loved their cheesy pastries. Date of visit: November 9, 2025 It's clear from the lines in and outside the bakery that this place is a neighborhood favorite, and while some of the items were good, the entire experience fell into the "just OK" category for us. Seating is super limited so if it's not nice outside, you're taking your chances on grabbing a seat; though the patio is quite extensive and I am sure is lovely in the summer. We started out with a couple of breakfast sandwiches. The one I wanted came with pepper jack and that's not my jam so I asked if it could be done with another cheese and was told, "No, we don't have any other cheese." I switched to a Ham and Swiss, no arugula. Geoffrey did capture this correctly, however when the sandwich came it somehow had extra arugula. Like they made it rain on my order. Good thing I am not allergic... #goodtimes Before leaving, we grabbed some bakery to go. I went with the Cranberry Oatmeal Cookie, which was decent but not stellar. I also grabbed a Pumpkin Spice Babka for later and while it came in a super cute container, it really didn't have much flavor. On the positive side, the Almond Joy coffee drink I had was quite good and I appreciated that apples are an option as your side item. read more

This was my second time here. It's a small shop with a welcoming exterior design. Inside there are several small tables. They have a nice patio on the side of the building, a great option for a nice weather day. Inside it's bright and well organized. You pass the bakery case on the way to order, which helps you see all the amazing bakery and pastries. A huge menu board is hung on the wall, which lets you see all the drinks and food options. There are a couple of registers that allow for quicker checkout. If you order online, you have options to come in, use the outside pickup windows, or curbside delivery. We got here right after they opened (8 a.m.) on Sunday. There were already people in line or ordering. Got a super friendly greeting and patient help from the staff. They gave us some tips on what were favorite items or suggestions. We ended up with the Espresso Chocolate Chip Scone and the Monkey Bread, with the offer to heat them up. They offer a London Fog Tea Latte (a little vanilla, a little lavender, and extra foam), and my friend got the Chai Latte, hot. Grabbed one of the few inside tables and waited for our order. It didn't take long before everything was ready. The London Fog was very good. Even though they don't offer mugs, they did a good job with the paper cup. The bakery items were heated up and offered in a paper bag. All the items were super yummy. The scone had great texture (a little dry, a little crumbly) and just the right amount of sugar icing. The Monkey Bread is a generous size and could satisfy two people. Glad we got a table because it soon filled up (really filled up) with people ordering or picking up. The place was packed with people, with some even waiting outside. This place is very popular. At one point the noise level inside was almost deafening, but it didn't last long. While this place is not technically a coffee shop, it does a nice job offering items that I would expect, with the exception that it doesn't open until 8 a.m. (I'm an earlier riser). Definitely would recommend this place for coffee, bakery, breakfast, or lunch. Would you like me to always standardize time references (like "8am" "8 a.m.") in your future reviews, or leave them as you originally write them? read more

I come here almost every weekend for their homemade bread! You can order online and pick up at the window or go inside and order. There's only a couple tables inside but the have a nice outdoor seating area as well. The bacon cheddar chive pastry and the lemon ricotta muffins are my favorite. Came in on about 12:45 on a Sunday. Limited bakery available but still good choices. I got a bacon cheddar danish and 2 blueberry vanilla macaroons for the kiddos. For a drink I got an iced Carmel macchiato. I think the danish being heated up would have made it spectacular, I'm sure if I asked it would have been made happen. The seating was very limited inside with only about 4 tables and when someone got up there was someone slipping right into seats so I did not get to bask in the true ambiance like I was hoping. I love the stamp logo on the packaging. The macchiato tasted wonderful. The staff was friendly. I would come here again but will probably wait until summer for there outdoor seating which is picnic benches and some other interesting wooden chair seats. read more

I've heard about this place being the best bakery in town for ages, but I've only had bits and pieces from friends in the past, and not always fresh. So i finally gave it a good try this time to give it a proper review. Perhaps it has been so hyped up for me that i was a bit disappointed. They are solid. But not "knock me off my socks" good. Because there are so many up and coming bakeries and coffee shops that are doing a stellar job. I actually really wanted to try the morning bun, but a guy just in front if me cleared them out. So i went for my second choice, kouign amann, and bought it. But when my order was up, i was told they had oversold. They were very nice and apologetic and would have refunded me or i could choose something else. So i went with the chocolate croissant. Chocolate croissant When i proposed going here, one of my friends voted it down and said let's try somewhere else. She had tried their croissant here before and thought they were the same as Walmart. But i said let's try anyway, cuz I've heard better. Unfortunately, the chocolate croissant did disappoint. I would have gotten the almond ones but they were out of those. These were so so, and more dense than flaky. I'm pretty particular about croissants. Thankfully, other items didn't disappoint. Blueberry cream danish This was really good. Like, wow, size and taste, one of the best garnishes I've had. Bacon cheddar chive danish Another really good Danish, especially if you prefer savory over sweet. Could really taste the chives. Multigrain bread Good bread. Not sure that it's the best bread I've ever had. Ft. Anodyne coffee Inside is not much of a cafe, and there is very limited seating. Outside, there is a huge pavilion-like area with huge tables. So overall, SOLID bakery with rustic vibes. But not your trendy cafe to hang out. There were a lot of takeouts, including LARGE orders of pastries - I kept seeing them disappear before my eyes. read more

Stopped by Rocket Baby Bakery recently for some coffee and breakfast and they're great for both! I got their egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. It comes on a fresh baked ciabatta roll and comes topped with their house made melty cheese. It was divine. My dining companion ordered one of their vegetable goat cheese pastries. I had a bite and it was good (the lamination was perfection) but I would have definitely preferred it warmed. For my coffee, I got one of their specialty mochas. I got their almond joy mocha, which was a bit sweet for me (I mean, that was my bad--I should have known by the title). I'm excited to get one of their lattes next time. The service is lovely. They have a small seating area but in warmer months, they have an expansive patio. I'm looking forward to returning in pleasant weather! Get to it! read more

Tosa sour dough is a staple. Pretzel cheese bread is my first thought on Saturday mornings. I would eat the whole thing myself if it were not for this darn diet. Don't get me started about the berry cheese danish of which there is no comparison. The staff are consistently professional and seem engaged and contented. The water is icey cold and the sun shine streams in through the windows in a nice way. One of my favorites. shh don't tell anybody. read more

Stopped by to do a bit of work and get a snack. Inside and outside was cute with a nice picnic area outside. There's only 3 tables inside but thankfully I snagged one. My best friend recommended I try Rocket Baby Bakery, a small bakery in Tosa. I loved it! It was my first time going and it did not disappoint. When I arrived there were a lot of people inside which is when I knew their food and coffee would be good. I ordered a Caramel Macchiato and a Chocolate Croissant. I love coffee and trying new cafes especially when I travel. Therefore I can honestly say this was the best Caramel Macchiato I've ever tried. The bakery had lots of widows but only about three tables. I had my croissant and coffee while talking to a friend and doing some work. All this to say I had time to observe the bakery and its staff. I had a pleasant experience with the staff when I interacted with them. However, another customer had issues with his order, he ordered a sandwich on his lunch break and arrived around the same time I did. As people ordered and left a staff member asked if he had received his food which he replied with an attitude no, he explained his frustration and how others came and went with their orders. The staff was extremely apologetic and informed him that his order was taken by another customer. They offered a pastry on the house for the inconvenience and with attitude he did not accept. They made his meal fast and gave him a few free bags of chips. All this to say the staff handled the customer and the situation respectfully and with lots of patience. read more

Landing somewhere between 4 and 5 stars. 5 stars: staff (super accommodating and friendly), bread, menu options overall. We both loved our sandwiches and I appreciated the willingness to accept modifications. 4 stars: no longer serve dine-in, all to-go containers; side salad was pathetic (tiny tiny handful of greens, like 1/4c), and I asked for sandwich toasted... all that was toasted was the bread, on one side (which they butter). I had to ask them to heat up my fillings. Sort of weird; I thought the whole sandwich would be warm. Husband loved his ham and swiss. Would return, but now I know the caveats & what to ask for. read more

We love Rocket Baby! The multigrain sourdough and Tosa sourdough are staples in our house. The pastries are fantastic - you can't go wrong. Kouign Amann is one of my faves, and the bouchons are a perfect little sweet treat. They make great sandwiches for lunch, too! I love the turkey club with the lemon aioli. Normally I come for their almond croissant (hands down - best in the greater MKE area), but we took a chance on their holiday stollen and was impressed. I'll be honest and saying that it's not as good as the kind you will find in say Dresden, Germany, but it was the best I've ever had Stateside. I particularly liked the pockets of marzipan throughout. Would I order again? Absolutely! I believe they only open the orders for the stollen in once a year in December, so don't miss out next year. read more

I'll preface this review by sharing that I visited on a Saturday in the late morning (around 10:30am) and the place was a mad house. I think the rush may have played a part in my overall experience. That said, here's my thoughts - the strength of this bakery is its unique flavor combos that you won't find other places like the lemon ricotta muffins and lemon aioli on a breakfast sandwich. The breads and croissants are extra fresh and they have some one-day old offerings they offer at reduced prices too. They were out of quite a few baked goods by the time I arrived and while the line to place your order moved fast the wait to pick up your order was relatively lengthy. I had to ask about the status of my order after waiting 20 minutes. The staff was cold and seemed distracted. One register wasn't working and I was ignored several times when trying to ask about my order status. There were a lot of people working behind the counter too. The overall vibe was chaotic and I didn't feel like a valued customer. Our bill was $35 for two breakfast sandwiches and a coffee. In my opinion thats pricey for a to-go breakfast place. read more

The breakfast sandwich on ciabatta is incredible. This might be the best ciabatta I've ever had. The sriracha Mayo is a MUST. We both opted for bacon, because bacon. Love the location of Rocket Baby Bakery! It's on the corner with plenty of Tosa outdoor seating and perfect to bike to (on site bike repair tools). There is always some type of line on the weekend but for good reason. You can preorder your bread for pick up or come through and see what's available for day of pick up but baked goods sell fairly quickly so come early. I got a lemon raspberry danish and it wasn't too sweet (personal preference) and used fresh raspberries ++. I wish they would amp up their bagel service to include a toasted and sliced option but bread is their speciality. If you are looking to treat yourself to some fine carbs I would check them out and preorder. I personally love the sourdough but who doesn't! read more

We both got lattes, extra shot for my wife with a pump of coconut syrup. We had a hard time choosing from all the amazing options so we chose the Kouign-amann, veggie/ goat cheese danish and the raspberry/ lemon danish. All three were good, but the raspberry danish was easily our favorite. There's plenty of tables and outdoor seating right next door. This is a great local spot. After we watched multiple breakfast sandwiches go out the door to people who ordered after us, including someone who likely got our sandwich as she received hers within two minutes of ordering, we finally had to request a refund. Not once did the staff check on us as we were waiting 20 minutes and other patrons came and went. When we finally inquired about our order they blamed their printer. The printer that seemed to handle the next three breakfast sandwiches quite easily. Consistently seems to be issues in the kitchen. This place is great when things go smoothly but the staff has no idea what customer service is when things don't go smoothly. Wow! All I can say is my wife and I went here for our 19th year anniversary, taking a gamble because we are so tired of surf and turf. The food is so mouth-wateringly good, popping with flavor, not a single bland bite. The waitress was so professional and nice, it was the best restaurant experience we've had in a long time. Rocket Baby is that small village bakery that's clearly enjoyed by everyone in the Tosa neighborhood (and beyond)! The cute blue exterior with big red letters sure makes this place stand out. Being able to simply walk up to their side window makes for a very welcoming vibe as well. Here they serve all of the bakery items you could really ever need. The menu offers everything from multi-flavor option croissants and cookies, to brownies, monkey bread, scones, and muffins. They're also known for their fresh-baked breads, which many come for their weekly loaf pick up. Brioche, French, multigrain, Polish rye, sourdough... the list goes on. My husband and I stopped here in the middle of an errand-filled-afternoon for a little pick me up. I was not only in need for some caffeine, but also craving a good ol' chocolate chip cookie. We parked just outside and made our way to the walk-up window to place an order: two cookies and one cafe latte with almond milk. There was quite the line of customers, and only two staff members on, so you could tell they were a little flustered. We hung out and waited a few short minutes for the latte, but after a bit more time passed we were yet to get the cookies. When I was returned to the window, the very-friendly woman working was apologetic about forgetting, and bagged our treats for us right away. *Just a friendly reminder to go easy on small businesses these days, they are trying there best with more limited staff than usual!* The cookies were so freakin' yummy - totally hit the spot and were literally the size of my hand. The coffee was A-OK, but I didn't feel inclined to finish it. All in all, we'll continue returning for fresh baked goodies and I look forward to trying their breads as well. read more

Absolutely love Rocket baby! The bread is always so fresh and perfectly made. The breakfast sandwich is amazing, possibly because of the homemade ciabatta bread. It very hardy with eggs and you can bacon as well. They give you two strips of thick perfectly crispy bacon. I didn't use one of the aolis you can get but got herbed goat cheese instead and it was so flavorful and tasted amazing! They also give you a side of either salad, apple, or chips. There is usually a small line even right when they open up but they are pretty quick with orders. Inside isn't open yet but honestly it's worth waiting in the cold. We bought a pumpkin pie and couldn't even finish the first bite. The spices were so overpowering that it was bitter. The first time we ever tossed out a whole pumpkin pie ever. Excellent bakery in Tosa. They used to be at the Tosa Farmers Market and that's where I first got addicted to their sourdough. Went on a Friday morning and they were sadly already out by 9:15am. I'll just have to try again! They offer ordering online and you can stop to pick it up, or you can order at the window. Only downside is they don't have 2 lines - one for pickup and one for ordering. I heard a few people griping that they just ordered online so wanted to pick up. Love the choices and that they're taking social distancing seriously. They have the bakery closed down to only employees. If that's what it takes for their great bread, I'm okay with it! Can't wait to go back. read more
