I've only recently started coming to Ultimate Confections but it's quickly becoming a favorite place for my chocolate addiction. Different holidays mean different goodies. Easter is one of my favorite with their different flavored filled eggs but I'm not sure there isn't anything in here I wouldn't love to take home with me any time of year. It's a feast for the eyes the second you walk in with both the chocolates galore and the seasonal decor plus combined with the aroma of chocolate, it's the perfect little store. Small selection of non-chocolates available as well (and where I discovered freeze dried candy) but chocolate is where they definitely excel. The staff here is always friendly and helpful too. Lovely little chocolate shop built into the neighborhood. I love to find things for my girls when I travel, and found this spot while coming out of a nearby coffeeshop. It has that local charm that can't be beat, with friendly service and loads of fun sweets. I perused all they had to offer, and when I saw an Anna / Elsa Frozen chocolate set, the decision was the easiest one I made all week. My girls play Frozen all the time, and my youngest is going as Elsa for Halloween this year. I enjoyed chatting with the owner who has a granddaughter the same age as my daughter. Oh, and while I didn't get anything for myself, I've taken a few discreet bites off of Olaf and can say this chocolate is the real deal. Great quality. I was able to treat myself to some sweet treats from Confections. They have both at summerfest and I believe they are sold at the state fair later in the summer as well. I got a frozen cheesecake with turtle on it. This was so tasty. It was a 10/10 experience. The chocolate didn't melt super quick even though it was 80. The pecans and Carmel was an amazing addition on top. I would absolutely get this again. I also got the set of 3 warm cookies. They were chocolate chip and they were alright but they weren't anything special. They were super soft and on the thinner side. Not something I would get again but it was alright. read more

I love the chocolate here (especially the fairy food) and the staff are always so kind! I love going here when I've had a bad day and just need a bit of a cheer up. My only problem with this place is how expensive it is. I get inflation, but I feel like even before inflation it's still very expensive and I'm broke asf! I've visited them at the WI State Fair, but never at their brick and mortar, so it was quite the treat! They recently moved into a new location a couple businesses down from their previous location. A few months ago I emailed them via their website about purchasing some treats for an upcoming corporate event and I had a wonderful experience! They were prompt with my emails and offered options ideal for my program. I ended up ordering 100 chocolate covered pretzel stick pairs and 100 chocolate covered Oreo duos. YUM!! They took our logo colors into consideration and added curled ribbon to each individual package and coordinated the sprinkles too! I picked up my order a few days before I needed them to ensure freshness and they had everything ready and nicely packaged for my pickup. I did a little personal shopping that day as well, and all the staff was very friendly and helpful! The store was nice and welcoming. There were a lot of options, so take your time or ask their staff and they will point you in the right direction. I received great feedback on the sweet treats, especially the chocolate covered Oreos! Those are a must! While having coffee across the street, I noticed this candy shop on the corner and decided to stop in. Nice shop with all sorts of hand-made chocolate and other treats. There is a lot to choose from. It's an adorably quaint shop on a darling strip of 68th that made the holiday shopping experience all the more charming. They have all sorts of chocolates. Everything from truffles, to caramels, to chocolate dipped pretzels. They also have an array of chocolate dipped oreos. Because the only thing better than a regular oreo is one dipped in a vat of rich and creamy milk chocolate. Everybody knows that. Stopped in here while waiting for dinner next store at Balistreri's. We were thankful that Ultimate Confections was open later on a chilly Saturday night, as there's no shortage of amazing confections here! Picked up some cashew clusters and fairy food for dessert. From the point of ordering to carefully packing and mailing the items to me, Kathy was very thorough. Thankfully, Kathy included ice packs for shipping, and the items arrived intact. I'm not normally someone that splurges on artisan candy. Kit Kats are good enough for me. And if I'm feeling really fancy, I'll buy assorted chocolates on February 15th. However this place is right next to one of my favorite restaurants in the area, so I havent been able to resist at least peeking my head in, and the staff is so friendly and welcoming I keep going back. They seem to have two themes: 1. They will cover absolutely anything edible in chocolate. Pretzels, licorice, caramel, fruit, whatever you can think of 2. They will make chocolate into any shape you can think of. Being a musician, I gravitated towards the musical instrument shapes but they have something for everyone. The chocolate is good and the prices are reasonable. The store itself still looks and feels comfortably "vintage", as though they havent upgraded unnecessarily since the 70s or 80s-- they still have the old fashioned display window, old school lights, etc. It makes me think of the more simple candy stores (and drugstores that sold candy) of my childhood that have fallen out of favor. Last time I visited, I stopped in with some friends from church after dinner. One of them bought me a chocolate piano. I should eat it but it looks too cute. read more

I was given a gift box of chocolates from Lori Murphy's Kitchen. Happily I can report that I was elevated to chocolate nirvana from the first bite on. But wait. When I eyed the chocolate-covered oreo-like thing, I was not going to save this mundane piece for last, so I took a bite of this one next and I was shocked. It melted in my mouth! My boyfriend and I came here to buy some treats for Valentines day. It's a very quaint establishment amidst a flower shop, a pastry shop, and frame store. We ended up getting pretzels dipped in dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and white chocolate (3 for $1.50). I found this quaint store right next to the Balistreri's restaurant in Wauwatosa, and stopped in for a gander. I had previously had one of their fantastic hand dipped chocolate covered pretzels, and was looking for a truffle or two to complete my afternoon. I completed my afternoon. I bought a box of 6 truffles, half peanut butter, and half irish cream. Oh.My.Goodness. The Irish cream truffles (dark choc.) were out of this world, and just melted in my mouth. The store itself has plenty of pre-packaged assortments for sale, and lots to browse at, but perusing the showcase is when you hear the angels singing. Can't even review on the treats this place sells because of the discrimination they projected towards my family and myself. We walked in and a worker asked to have a few of us step out because their occupancy request was 2 people at a time. Mind you there was no one else in the store at this time except the two workers and my family of 6. We happened to drive here to check it out and give our kids a treat after our long drive. Thought they were joking at first and they insisted that four of us wait outside and take turns coming in. Instead of us being able to enjoy this time time all together because of their "2 person policy" we chuckled because of the silly and ridiculous request and took our business elsewhere!! As we were walking out a family of three walked in and they were not turned away and asked for one to stand outside while the two made a purchase. I have a love hate relationship with this place. Great fit to small commercial footprint in east Tosa which has been here quite a few years. Always wondered how they stayed in business so long considering they often charge a hefty per pound price for so many items. That being said they have quite a few very exceptional products which warrant a visit to check out. I'm the president of a local church. As a thank you for a couple hosting our youth lock in, I wanted to get a thank you gift. I found out the hostess loves chocolate covered strawberries. I used to buy a great deal of thank you gifts from Ultimate and remembered they offered that. I called, ordered and picked up about $40.00 in chocolate covered strawberries. I took them directly to their home and presented the thank you. Two days later, her husband called and told me more than 1/2 of them were spoiled with mold on the strawberries. I immediately called to complain. The clerk took my name, number and address assuring me someone would contact me. I called twice more looking for a simple refund, I no longer trusted their business practices. It's going on 5 years and they've yet to contact me. read more
