    Halloween season

Lovely little chocolate shop built into the neighborhood. I love to find things for my girls when I travel, and found this spot while coming out of a nearby coffeeshop. It has that local charm that can't be beat, with friendly service and loads of fun sweets. I perused all they had to offer, and when I saw an Anna / Elsa Frozen chocolate set, the decision was the easiest one I made all week. My girls play Frozen all the time, and my youngest is going as Elsa for Halloween this year. I enjoyed chatting with the owner who has a granddaughter the same age as my daughter. Oh, and while I didn't get anything for myself, I've taken a few discreet bites off of Olaf and can say this chocolate is the real deal. Great quality. If you're in need for holiday gifts this is a spot to add to your list!

I've visited them at the WI State Fair, but never at their brick and mortar, so it was quite the treat! They recently moved into a new location a couple businesses down from their previous location. A few months ago I emailed them via their website about purchasing some treats for an upcoming corporate event and I had a wonderful experience! They were prompt with my emails and offered options ideal for my program. I ended up ordering 100 chocolate covered pretzel stick pairs and 100 chocolate covered Oreo duos. YUM!! They took our logo colors into consideration and added curled ribbon to each individual package and coordinated the sprinkles too! I picked up my order a few days before I needed them to ensure freshness and they had everything ready and nicely packaged for my pickup. I did a little personal shopping that day as well, and all the staff was very friendly and helpful! The store was nice and welcoming. There were a lot of options, so take your time or ask their staff and they will point you in the right direction. I received great feedback on the sweet treats, especially the chocolate covered Oreos! Those are a must! I was happy to support a local business and look forward to using them again in the future!

Seasonal treats - great for gifting!

Ultimate Confections Candy shop is a cute little place located in Wauwatosa. The shop offers an array of dark, milk, and white chocolate as well as other delectable treats! Seasonally, they also feature a variety of goodies that are prepared/pre-packaged and ready for gifting! People really like their dipped Oreos and the holiday ones are really cute! Another delicious treat are their chocolate covered pretzel sticks, they have sure been a hit! However, if I'm shopping for me, I'll get myself a turtle! If you're looking for a treat to gift or enjoy for yourself, give them a try!

It's the stuff holiday dreams are made of. You know. Chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate! Came to Ultimate Confections to get candy/chocolates for Christmas presents. It's an adorably quaint shop on a darling strip of 68th that made the holiday shopping experience all the more charming. They have all sorts of chocolates. Everything from truffles, to caramels, to chocolate dipped pretzels. They also have an array of chocolate dipped oreos. Because the only thing better than a regular oreo is one dipped in a vat of rich and creamy milk chocolate. Everybody knows that. If you're hoping for other sorts of treats (other than chocolate), this isn't your spot. But, for those who love milk, dark, and a bit of white chocolate? Get to it!

The service was Super duper friendly and the candies had my mouth watering. It's so many treats I wouldn't dare go into the store alone. You need an extra person to tell you when enough is enough.

St. Paul Fish Market is located inside the very busy and popular Milwaukee Public Market indoor shopping complex downtown. It reminds me of the Pike Place Fish Market in Seattle. The only parking option that I am aware of is metered street parking. The building has 2 levels but the 1st floor is where most of the business are. It appeared to me that St. Paul's is the most popular business there. It is a seafood restaurant and fresh fish market. They have a small sit down area for table service dining or you can order your food to go at the counter. After being seated and reviewing the menu I decided to order the same meal I had over 11 years ago. I went with a bowl of clam chowder for $8 to start and then added a fried grouper sandwich ($16) with french fries for another $2.50. The chowder was perfect. Flavorful, delicious and I wanted more (5). The sandwich also was delicious and satisfying made with quality fish, lettuce, tomato, and bread. However while it tasted very good halfway through eating it the bread bun started to disintegrate and then quickly turned to mush before I could finish. Then I needed a fork to finish it. It got messy and I don't like that in a sandwich. It's only for that reason I give an overall 4 score instead of a 5. The french fries were very good tasting too but I had ordered too much food and only had room for a few of them. The table service was very warm and friendly. I believe St. Paul's is a very good choice for a casual seafood meal but please buy more sturdy buns!

While the menu is limited and not cheap, staff were very friendly and walked us through everything before we selected a couple of things to try. Pretty much all of the cheeses and accoutrements were fantastic! One of the cheese on our plate was the espresso version of Bellavitano, which happens to be one of my favorites, so that was a nice little bonus for me. In addition to the board, we also went with the ricotta bites, which featured one sweet and one savory option, both of which we also really liked. The shop is cozy and if this was somewhere that I lived walking distance from, I could totally see myself coming here fairly regularly and having a little cheese and ambiance. During our time there we saw both couples on dates and old friends gathering for a drink and a nosh, all of which I found just wonderful. Really the only thing keeping this from a five star review was that the side items, such as the crackers were not plentiful enough for the cheese. I know that ratio can be hard to nail but it was not quite on the mark here, unfortunately. However, that would not be enough to prevent me from returning!

Most buckets seemed to be about 6-8 inches in diameter and prices ranged from $1 to $5. I only wish they offer smaller buckets instead of such a big bucket. It is hard to buy in bulk with smaller household and I don't like to freeze produce. I was curious about the quality of the produce, but I wasn't too impressed. For example, the apricots looked a little banged up--kind of like the "misfit" produce I've seen before. There was upbeat Mexican music playing, which gave the place a fun vibe, and the store itself isn't that big. A security guard was stationed outside. They had yellow-flesh watermelon at $0.99/lb, and giant seeded watermelons for $16 each--which felt pricey, especially since I had just come from Costco where I got a decent-sized watermelon for $6 (though admittedly smaller than the ones at Pete's). I also noticed mangoes going for $2 each, which again felt steep. I had been hoping to find some Mexican pastries, but nothing really stood out, and there weren't any prepared foods available. However, I saw they got a catering menu which I thought it might be good to have a food court selling those items. I was expecting something more like La Michoacana or Fiesta stores in Texas, but this wasn't it. In the end, I just picked up a few Mexican candies like Pulparindo and called it a day. I was a bit disappointed with the fruit selection, especially the lack of tropical options. On the plus side, they have a fairly large, gated parking lot, which is convenient. I'm glad I visited, but not sure I'll be rushing back anytime soon.
