The owner, Karen, was so pleasant to speak with and helpful in picking out some of the best choices. She travels the world to personally taste and hand-select the finest of chocolates and brings back to Milwaukee the best of the best. The presentation of the shop itself and within each chocolate box is adorable. Oh and the taste... the taste is quality. You can tell fresh ingredients and cacao go into the unique treats. I loved the banana chocolate I sampled on site, and the truffles I took home are to die for. They define "melt in your mouth." In addition to the select chocolates, on offer is also decadent international chocolate bars, cacao cooking items, and delicious nut butters. You bet I left with some for myself. All in all, there were going to be seven of us, so my partner and I quickly headed to Babe's to warn them that we were going to have a large group. The young staff was friendly and amiable, allowing us to move furniture in order to accommodate everyone. The banana split is a create-your-own adventure, allowing the customer to choose three flavors of incomparable Chocolate Shoppe ice cream as well as three toppings!! Unfortunately, we were told that they didn't have any bananas for splits. (Cue "Yes, We Have No Bananas.") Birthday Girl was quite disappointed, but what are you going to do? While everyone else was being served, one of the staff realized they had frozen bananas that were supposed to be chocolate-dipped, so I asked if that could be used for the split. We were told yes! I don't remember what flavors the birthday girl chose, but I do remember her big smile when she got her split. Our experience was definitely a seven out of seven, one thumbs up from each member of our group.

When we were all ready to order my mom stepped up and had to ask her if she would sever us ice cream she only took care of my mom and step dad. Then she stopped working and taking orders as soon as her mom came in. Even her mom asked her to finish the customers in line and she ignored the entire line including the order is was in the middle of and told her mom that everyone was order was done. Which was incredibly inconsiderate and wrong. Before the mom left, she told her kid (the worker) that she has 15 mins left and should be working. After the mom left the worker continued to not help any one. Thank goodness for the manager (lady in the red shirt) she actually saw what happened and took over the line. It was our first night of our family vacation and I love coming to Wisconsin because of the people and the customers service but I guess that doesn't count for this restaurant. But the lady in the red shirt deserves a raise and the worker needs it fix her (their) priorities. The ice cream was really good (I would just go to a different location).

The box assembled has a great range of flavors that really helps to complement each other. I ate the double chocolate truffle, so rich, dark and decadent, and then followed it up with raspberry pate de fruit which was bright, sparkling and REALLY popped compared to the richness of the chocolate. The sourdough dark chocolate pretzels are something I personally could eat an entire bag of, so they're plenty dangerous and could be paired with beer, whisky or your favorite cocktail easily. Soft carmel was chewy but only JUST chewy enough where I didn't feel like I'd have to go to the dentist to get my fillings redone like some carmels I'm legit afraid of. The white chocolate raspberry ganache truffle was smooth and creamy like how you picture white chocolate. The hint of raspberry lingers around at the end of the flavor - for those who love raspberry I could even seen that getting punched up a little. The Arc de Triomphe (get it, the name is French?!!) is the peanut butter truffle. It's a souped-up Reese's on steroids. If you like chocolate and you like peanut butter (who doesn't?) you're gonna fall in love with this treat. Something they do with the peanut butter filling gives it an extra layer of complexity and just a hint of crunch.

The service has always been excellent, with friendly people behind the counter who make each visit pleasant.
