To enhance a quiet New Year's Eve, my wife and I crossed the street from our apartment house and purchased chocolates from Melt in the Lincoln Warehouse. Tiny, but obviously bespoke, Melt looked the opposite of commercial or corporate. The person behind the register was helpful, informative, and obviously passionate about Melt's chocolates. He helped us pick out two boxes of assorted chocolates which we enjoyed later that night while drinking a Blanc de Blancs champagne. Melt's chocolates are uniquely flavored and taste sublime. They are some of the best sold anywhere, including Europe and Japan. Only open on weekends and holidays, Melt is worth a special journey. read more

One of my two favorite chocolatiers in town! Their chocolates are creative, beautiful, and super delicious! Their specialty and seasonal products are top notch, especially the Faberge Eggs that they sell during Easter season. The Monet egg is filled with apricot vanilla bean compote and white chocolate creme brulee ganache, and the Rhapsody in Blueberry (new this year) is filled with a wild blueberry compote and white chocolate lemon marscapone ganache! I've also enjoyed their peppermint bark, toffee crunch bark, and their chocolates, especially the Calypso, which has a mango, habanero, and Jamaican rum filling! They are open Friday evenings and Saturday from Noon to 7:00. They have extended hours around the holidays, so follow them on social media to stay in the loop for hours and special product releases. They also started a CBD gummy company called Nectar, so check those products out, if interested in CBD and THC Delta-8. read more

Visited Melt for the first time during a very busy Bay View Gallery Night, and they were gracious, friendly, and nothing but helpful and patient. Inside the Lincoln Warehouse, their shop is bright and welcoming, and their case of chocolates pops with color! The gentleman handed us the map of chocolates to make sure we could order anything that might not be in the display case. We built a nice box of eight chocolates, which were incredible. The box itself is very fancy, and you can return the box and insert for a discount on your next visit! Five stars all the way. read more

I live in NYC and found Melt while looking for a local Mother's Day gift for my mother-in-law in MKE; these guys whipped up a super-glam box of divine-looking chocolates that thrilled my MIL (who had been pretty bummed that none of her kids or grandkids could visit because of Covid-19). She called to say she'd seen a box of chocolate so beautiful; we loved hearing her so happy. I just wish I could taste! The descriptions sounded scrumptious. (Chocolate w/caramel, fresh lime & basil? Chocolate w/Door County cherries macerated in Great Lakes Distillery whiskey? Yes plz.) I thought this place was new and I was excited to give them a try. When I entered the store it was very clean and the staff was warm and welcoming. I asked how long the store was open and the owner informed me they opened in 2017. The place was small but had a nice variety of chocolates to choose from. We were even lucky enough to try a few samples on the house. I ordered an eight pack of chocolates and when I arrived home I tried the chocolate filled with fresh guava, my mouth watered with satisfaction and I was tempted to eat the entire box that night, but I had to talk myself out of it. The next day I tried another chocolate and it seems like each new piece gets better than the last. I will definitely will recommend this place to anyone and would love to get the word of mouth out. A five star review can almost feel exaggerated. However, this place deserves it. I picked up some chocolates for Valentine's Day as well as some individual pieces that I wanted to try. This is edible art. The chocolates look so tempting but too beautiful to eat, almost like you have to stare at it before you let the flavors melt in your mouth. They are special, and the location of Melt Chocolates is in a mysterious part of the city. Small retail shop in an east side warehouse with limited days and hours (extended during the Christmas season). Fun, professional staff. Not cheap ($32 for 16-pieces and $18 for 8-pieces), but worth it. WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE My wife read an article recently about this small, growing business. It was started several years ago by a biomedical engineer who had a background in chemistry and a passion for chocolate. Although the business specializes in wholesale, they have a small retail shop in a warehouse building on the east side. It's definitely out of the mainstream, but it's worth the trip. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon when the Packers were playing, which probably explains the reason we were the only customers during our 15-minute visit. While there, we were offered a few samples. Each of them was very unique and very flavorful. Ingredients included raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, orange, caramel, spices, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate and much more. Difficult to describe in words, but suffice to say that we will be coming back for more! We left with two boxes -- one with 16-pieces (for us!) and another with 8-pieces (a Christmas gift). Leaving to go home from one of 2 breweries in the same "cool" buildings. I confess I don't really care for chocolate. Till today! These incredible little pieces of art are worth just the stop. Only after the 2 very passionate owners shared their stories and samples were "we" hooked! The flavors were original, unique and very infectious. The workers there give off a vibe like you are beneath them (super snobby/pretentious) and are not friendly at all. I came in dressed in jeans and a t shirt, so I wasn't dressed ratty at all.
