The place has a delightful ambiance. I felt immediately relaxed. Decent tea selection for us tea drinkers. Very reasonable prices.

When I first pulled up to the building it was 7:30am, and they were open. But the windows somehow made it look dark inside, and I literally had to put my nose to the glass to see any activity. Otherwise I might have thought they were closed and kept going (special glass that cuts down glare inside?). Once inside there are several different areas for seating; the bar with stools, the front windows ledge with more stools, or the center area that has larger tables for various size groups. Lots of natural light from the front windows. The interior design, is a bit industrial, well lit, and welcoming. Things were neat and clean. Inside there was a short line to the counter which was right ahead. Took a few minutes to arrive at counter and order. Got a pleasant greeting and help with the order. I ordered the usual London Fog Tea Latte (little lavender, little vanilla, and extra foam). They didn't have much in the way of pastries/bakery. They were out of the Coffee Cake, but suggested the Apple Galette supplied by Miss Molly Bakery. They don't have the ability to warm up the bakery, which was a little disappointment. They took their time steeping the tea, which is a good thing. It came with a nice head of foam, had great flavor, and was the right temperature (148F). Texture-wise it could have been a little creamier. The Apple Galette was amazing. The crust was flakey and nicely sprinkled with course sugar. The apples had great flavor and were moist. The atmosphere was relaxed and most people were having quiet conversations. There's a very chill cat (Sugar) roaming around the place, and occasionally keeping people company. Not my favorite, but definitely a place that I would return to.

Charming little gem with good Anodyne coffee and scrumptious bakery…read more Just one thing I wish they would fix - please post bakery item prices. Otherwise, every single treat was absolutely delicious. I was seriously wowed. The owner (? I think) named everything I pointed to before giving them to me, but I don't remember all the names. I have to go by what they look like. (Please post bakery item names along with the price!) (Oh and sorry for the bad picture - he looks mad in the picture, but he was actually just really nice and smiling most of the time. I didn't realize until way later that he looks mad in the picture lol) The big puffy cinnamon sugary puff - totally the best thing I had here. Super soft inside and kinda crusty outside, perfectly sweet but not too much. The little mini chocolate croissant lookalike but denser looking things - good, but not necessarily what I'd come back here for. Blueberry scone textured rectangular thing - not airy, but dense, packed with flavor, very filling and delicious.

The people behind the counter are hard-working and friendly, and happy to go through what's on the shelves. My brother loved his hot cocoa with their homemade marshmallow fluff! They also sell lotions, soap, and candles from the business/charity next door, Franciscan Peacemakers (closed on weekends). Only comment I can make is it would be nice if the pastries were labeled as well as show the price, but this isn't stopping me from coming back! The prices are reasonable. Accessibility: It isn't wheelchair accessible (a couple steps to get into the bakery), though it is spacious when you get in. For those who are hearing impaired, I didn't have a problem. Parking: free on-street

The decor is warm and welcoming. It reminds me of the now closed Beans and Barley in the early 80s--before the fire. There is also a variety of fresh produce and sometimes bakery for those in need. Their pay-what-you-can model makes nourishing, plant-based food accessible to everyone, and every dish is made with love. On my visit for Vegan Soul Friday, I had the Soul-Kissed BLT -- applewood vegan bacon, fresh lettuce, juicy tomato, cheddar cheeze, candied jalapeños, and chipotle-avocado aioli on a wheat baguette. It was incredible -- smoky, tangy, and just the right amount of spice. Paired with their Cucumber-Mint Lemonade, it was the perfect balance of refreshing and flavorful. The team was also incredibly accommodating of my scooter and accessibility needs, which made the experience even more special. Whether you're vegan or just love great food with a mission, you need to visit Tricklebee Café. It's more than a meal -- it's a place where good food and good people come together. #AccessWithSamera #AccessWithSamera

I ordered a turkey salad that I think was called the green gobbler (but not 100%). It was a super robust and filling salad with turkey, craisins, hard boiled egg, tomato, carrots, onions, and croutons on a bed of spinach with your choice of dressing. I chose their ranch dressing which tasted fresh made. They have an assortment of canned and bottle beverages so I grabbed a bottle of water to go with the salad. Seating is anywhere within the North Avenue Market itself--so plentiful and comfortable. The service was kind and accommodating. You order at the counter and then they found us and brought our meals to our table. It looks like they also have a drive-up/takeout window which is great, especially for coffee on the fly! With two visits under my belt, I can say that I appreciate being able to walk from my residence and sit down in a very comfortable open, bright and, in the summer, airy location to enjoy a cuppa coffee or to get a bite to eat. I still have yet to imbibe at the Bittercube Bar, also inside the location, but looking forward to doing so in the near future. At Corners Café, I have been served with a smile and efficiency by both Evan and Jewel, both of whom are an asset to the business here. I suspect in the near future that the location will be popular and a bit more crowded than it is now; i.e.; early on both mornings that I've been here since the biz opened, I was one of only a few folks taking advantage of what there is to offer here.
