Apple Holler is a you pick apple orchard, restaurant, shop, and bakery. In recent years, I noticed that they offer holiday catered meals and finally gave it a try this past Christmas. The menu was prime rib (with gravy and horseradish sauce), sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, apple bread stuffing, carrots, rolls, dutch apple pie and more. We were able to order a few a la carte items to go along with it (hard apple cider, extra sides etc). It was plenty of food and our family loved everything. They included easy instructions for reheating in the oven so on Christmas our house still smelled like all the delicious food (without all the work!). Everyone was so nice and they even gave us a $10 gift certificate to come back and try their restaurant (which we plan on doing!). Get to it! read more

A wonderful apple orchard that has plenty for the kids to do is a great place to visit. Was able to eat at the restaurant several times so an overview is in order. The establishment is very clean and has a gift shop with all sorts of tasty offerings. The apple pie is simply wonderful, a scoop of ice cream is an excellent ad and once you have this dessert you will certainly be back. The restaurant menu has a nice variety of selections, the Ruben is great, the French Dip is awesome but unfortunately the 1/2 burger was pretty sad, dry, probably microwaved and the thousand island dressing pretty much nonexistent. However, the fries are exceptional! You order at the counter and the food came out very quickly by some very friendly staff. read more

Came here with my partner a few months back to try apple picking for the first time coming from Chicago. We got there around noon on a Saturday and the place was busy but they had plenty of parking along the road in addition to the full lot. The price to entry is pretty fair, and you choose a size to how big of a bag you want for collecting. Once in, this place is huge. They have plenty of food/drinks, apple picking, a petting zoo area, a corn maze and lots of other kid friendly activities. We were there for the apple picking and it was such a great time! They give you a map with all the in-season varieties and where you can find them in the orchard. There is also shuttle rides that drive you around the orchard and drop off at some points if you want to minimize walking since its a large field. Even though the place was crowded, the orchards had plenty of room to walk around and pick apples with your group. There are sooo many apples and it is overwhelming at first all the different kinds. The great part is you can try the them before deciding if you want to take them. Make sure to come hungry, we ate a ton of apples. After picking, we went to the cider house and got a cold cider. I've been to a few apple orchards around Chicago, and I think this one has to be my favorite. It is expensive, $24 is the cheapest option to enter the orchard, but I view it more like you're paying to spend the day there. Also, depending when you go (make sure to check website to see what is ready to be picked), they have a ton of options for apples AND they have a couple varieties of pears which I really love. Even as an adult, it's fun to take the train out to the orchard. You can buy drinks for while you wander around, including both alcholic or nonalcoholic. In addition to apple picking they have a HUGE store with so many sweet treats, tons of friendly goats, a little corn maze, a race track (think: 4 wheel bikes), free skee ball and basketball, and more. So while in Chicago for my son graduation from the Navy Boot camp, we decided to drive to Wisconsin to do som apple picking. As we researched several places the one was the only one open on that day. What a great find. I reminded me of the old time tourist traps that was on the side of the road. First we started out with fruit picking wit a variety of apples, peaches, and pears. The farm was huge and need a tractor ride for some area. The fruit so so delicious, the workers stated to try the fruit from each tree before picking them a placing it in your basket for sweetness. We would save some of the half eaten fruit a give it to the horse and goats on property, which was a fun experience. After picking the delicious apples, pears, and peaches, we went to the restaurant. We ordered pizza and a french dip sandwich. The pizza was large and delicious with a nice crunchy crust. The French dip was absolutely amazing with warm dipping sauce. We came out to Apple Holler last month when we were near the area for a wedding. We opted to come for breakfast, and we really enjoyed it. The food was pretty good, and reasonably priced. We ordered the drunken french toast, the apple turnover breakfast, and 2 drinks. Our favorite was the cheesy hashbrowns. Those were phenomenal. We had thought about getting a small bag to go apple picking, BUT each person has to buy a bag, and the smallest bags were $22. I'm not paying $44 to go into an orchard and pick like...10 apples. (We didn't want to get many since we don't live in the area.) Besides that, we had some fun walking around the shop. Pro-tip: buy the dill pickle hot sauce. SO GOOD. The rest of the place seems to be geared to kids, so if you've got little ones, this would be a great spot to spend a day. I'd recommend coming here at least once! read more

This place is super beautiful! The market and bakery have amazing items! We ordered food and sat down at a table. They give you complementary cornbread and apple butter. Both very good. We ordered an apple dumpling and it was good but still a little cold inside. I ordered the chicken and biscuits with gravy and they were amazing!! My boyfriend ordered the apple French toast and thought it was underwhelming. It was a little cold. Next, we went apple picking. Altogether it was a fun experience, but pricey. You have to buy a bag to enter the orchard and the cheapest option is $22. The smallest bag only fits ~6 apples. They were very very tasty though. Finally, we went to the farm/play area. Apple Holler is a great place to spend a fall day with family and friends. We went apple picking on a beautiful Saturday morning, but the main parking lot was already full by 9:30 am. Luckily, we found a spot along the road and it was just a short walk to the orchard. We picked two 1/4-peck bags of apples, $22 each - which was plenty for us. Apple Holler has a huge variety of apples to choose from, and the trees were loaded with fruit! After picking apples, we enjoyed some delicious fresh-pressed cider. I was a little disappointed that they no longer have the barrel-aged cider, which was my favorite in years past. One of the staff members told us they recently changed vendors. Even though it was a busy day, the orchard was well-organized with clear signs and plenty of staff to answer questions. We didn't have to wait long to pay our admission or get our cider. While prices have increased a bit we still had a wonderful time and would come back next year! read more

Wow! I'll start by saying I was here a few years ago and I wasn't impressed. Today I am! It's super cute here with activities and a gift shop. I'm just here to bring a group and kill time so I went straight to the restaurant. Like so many places they have changed to a place where you order at the counter and they bring your food. I ordered a cheeseburger with hash brown casserole. The food came after a reasonable time. The server was very nice and genuinely happy to make sure I was comfortable and liked my food. We came here in October and we had a great time. They gave us a map and we are off to the orchard. I love how they have a lot of the various types of apples and they are all good. They have a bakery, pizza and adult drink stand too. Their bakes goods are in-house and I particularly love their donuts, pies and flaky apple turnovers. Don't forget the apple cider. The three is because it's quite pricey. It's about a 25 minute ride from Milwaukee. Regardless of age it's a minimum of $22 for 1/4th of a peck. Prices go up from there. You get a tractor ride to the orchard and there are many different varieties of apples. Everyone was super nice. They had cider donuts and simple food like dogs and pizza. A small petting zoo with maze was included. The restaurant was closed on Saturday. Price is probably the only reason we'd go back to our regular place. read more

Like many other reviewers here, I've driven by Apple Holler many times on my commute and this Saturday morning with company in town I decided to go there for breakfast. It wasn't crowded, we were able to sit right away and find plenty of parking. No table service so you order at the counter and then shortly they come out with complimentary small pieces of cornbread served with their house-made apple butter. The cornbread is very delicious, and the apple butter isn't as sweet as I thought it would be but still a little too sweet for me. You feel like you're on someone's grandparents farm in the country while you're here. It's cozy and kitschy throughout the whole building. The food was really good. I got one of the specials which was a pork chop and 2 eggs and it was surprisingly very good. We got some donuts for the table and they were light and fluffy and so flavorful. Highly recommend those. Right now they are selling large bags of apples, buy 1 get 1 free. You can mix and match. We grabbed a couple bags and the apples were still firm and fresh which is considerable given who knows when they were picked given that it's June. Aaaaaaah, nothing says it right then the fresh smell,of baked apple pie. This IS the only place you want to buy it as well as their heavy moist real tasting apple cider donuts. They are not the little dry hockey pucks with a spray of cider on them like other places. The big main restaurant was gone when I was there along with the buffet. Tooo bad as the food was worth the drive. Now it's pie and donuts with a very very small shop at the entrance. The outside is as it was with plenty of things for family to do. They've lost me on going into the orchard with the excessive pricing on that. The cheapest pricing for each person is $22. It would be easier to pay a fee per person and choose the size of container for your apples and pay that than the idea of $66 for three people (two under 10) and get three tiny 1/4 peck bags. We skipped that and got two giant bags of apples and a half dozen donuts for under $30. And, the restaurant is closed on the weekends for September and October, so what is the point? We used to come for the breakfast buffet and then go from there. It's way too monetised at this point and parking, even with the extra lot that the south is a mess, especially when it has rained. read more

We are in town from Arizona and drove up with family that lives in Chicago, based on their recommendation. We came to Apple Holler in early November and it wasn't the best time of year as it was late in the season but we still were able to have the apple picking experience. There are tons of rows with a wide variety of apples to choose from. Plenty of activities for kids outside of apple picking as well. They sell fresh baked goods, have a bbq stand and a large gift shop where they sell their salsas in a jar, bottled cider, popcorn and more! I think it's worth the trip but I will say it is a bit pricey but hey, it's an experience. If you apple pick multiple times per year that may be too much but for a first timer I willingly paid for the experience! read more

Very disappointed! Went there for the Cider Float. Big rip off and not good at all. The plastic cup is rimmed with caramel and nuts so if you want to eat it you have to chew it off the cup. It was watery and had no taste and way too expensive $15. Also, this place is geared for very young kids. Nothing for 10 and up. The admission is the same for all ages which is unreal. Evercrisp.. all day.. get the Evercrisp apples. The pears were good (if you can find them), Sommerset, and Fuji are amongst some favorites. Evercrisp was the favorite for everyone. Me, my wife, and our friends had a great time. So many apples of all kinds. Please bring the children. They can run around and get tired, plus there's a little 'train' that takes you to the orchard. Also, Wisconsin and its residents always show us a good time. Being from Chicago (and a Bears fan) im always curious to see how other towns treat us during football season but when I come to Wisconsin we're always treated with respect. I love it. I forgot to add...please buy the pie. The apple pie was so good that im thinking about driving 2 hours just to get it. I love Apple Holler! Decided to stop and have breakfast. I had the Mexican omelette with hashbrowns. So fresh and delicious. The restaurant is beautifully clean and inviting. Service is top notch. Besides the restaurant they have apple picking and special events in the fall such as hayrides and pumpkin picking.
