I'm remembering the breathtaking views of Lake Michigan, the landscaping, the shops, and the occasional wisps of bbq in the air. I will often buy raw honey, a handmade bouquet, bread, veggies, soap, candles, and much more from here. Of course I'll eat my way through the market, they have some good grub. Love the museums and walking along the lake, wishing that I brought my salmon gear with me in hopes to catch the big one. A day spent here is always refreshing. I can't wait until the grass is once again green and the air doesn't contain teeth-chattering wind chills so that I can pay a visit once more.

Came here on a Saturday morning for berry and veggie picking and left with bags full of produce…read more They had rows and rows of blueberries and raspberries, plus a crazy variety of vegetables--peppers, onions, peas, potatoes, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kohlrabi (yes, really), beets, zucchini, cucumbers... we were blown away by how much there was. It was actually a ton of fun pulling veggies straight out of the ground and hunting for the best berries. Felt super satisfying and kinda meditative. Definitely a good way to spend a few hours outdoors. Pro tip: there's no shade at all in the fields, so wear long pants, long sleeves, a hat, and sunglasses unless you want to roast. We didn't bother with water bottles because sampling the fruit as we went kept us hydrated. Highly recommend doing that--those berries are perfect.

CITY SLICKER I have…read moredriven by here many times but i have never stopped. Recently I needed zucchini. We were having company over and I wanted to add grilled zucchini to the menu. When I stopped in I was amazed at the large selection of items they had. They also had a bunch of great looking zucchini. The normal price for them was $1.29 a pound but they were on special for 75 cents a pound. I grabbed 3 nice size ones and the total price was $1.83. Now that was a deal. I should have grabbed more. I was also able to meet the owner Chris. She was very friendly and helpful. She actually stopped in to drop off more zucchini. She was also there to see how the store was doing. We also started talking about cooking food and using fresh veggies. As she was talking to me she was looking through the peppers. She picked up two giant green peppers that were going bad and asked me if I could do something with them. I told her Yeah and she gave them to me. In fact, I took them home and roasted them on the fire pit. I also served them to our guests later that day and they loved them. In fact, the guests used them on there brats. I know roasted peppers are not a traditional topping but I must admit they tasted fantastic on the brats. Thanks Chris for giving me these and adding to our already delicious menu. This store is seasonal. I am not sure when they close down but I'm sure when it starts to get cold. I also learned that Chris is the daughter of the famous Jerry Smith who has the farm North of this location. So all of there fresh seasonal veggies come from there. Jerry Smith's farm has a great pumpkin patch for the kids to visit in October. If you haven't been there then I recommend you load up the Family and make a trip there. They also have a Corn Festival coming up in August too. Those events take place at the Jerry Smith Farm and not here. I also have a Yelp Review posted for that location. Okay back to Green Acres. The selection was huge. They had a variety of potatoes and onions, Roma tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, regular tomatoes, 4 foot tall Dill, corn, hot peppers, green peppers, pickles, watermelon and zucchini. Everything looked amazing. In addition to the fresh vegetables this location also carried flats of flowers too. I really wanted the palm tree for $330.00 It looks so cool plus I would always feel like I'm on vacation if I owned it. So if you are driving down the road and you see a little shack at the side of the road it's Green Acres. It is the place to be. It's like farm living which is the life for me. Yeah I may get allergic from the smell of hay. I do love the country but I also love my big city too. There are some song lyrics mixed in there above...enjoy!!! See Green Acres makes me want to break out in song. I'm happy that people seem to be getting healthier. Places like this are helping us move in the right direction. We need to learn how to make food again and not out of a box but from scratch. It is not only rewarding to do this but it tastes amazing. So I appreciate Green Acres and I can not wait to stop back.

Location remains on the north side of the road. The farm no longer sells its produce through farmers markets or a CSA. The stand is its sole sales outlet. Pick-your-own remains $1.00/lb. Prices for already picked produce are still reasonable but up slightly from before. Everything is still grown with heart and free of chemicals. Stand should open this year around July 1.

Plenty of vendors selling a variety of goods. Spices, clothing, crafts, sundries, and lots and lots of food. Live entertainment on stages in front of the local bars along the street. Plenty of Farmer's market items, fresh produce, dairy, and homemade meat products. This event seems to keep getting bigger every year. Very well organized, and everyone is very kind and cooperative. Parking along the roadside, or closer parking on residential lawns for a minimal fee.

The tables are set up along the sidewalks right now, but I wonder if it will spill over into the green space around the gazebo if more vendors start taking part in the market. Today I just saw seven and they all had different offerings. The few I dealt with were cash only. Others may have card readers. I didn't ask because I didn't need anything from them. There is parking available on Franklin street, but if the spaces are full it looks like parking is available along Swiss Street. Alternatively, if it ever gains in popularity, there is definitely parking across from Wegner's Inn on St. Martins. I am a big fan of the change. The fair used to be held on the first Monday of every summer month from 6am through noon. I use the term fair loosely because it was just a few people spread out so far from each other. Definitely not what it was 15 years ago. I understand the tradition of a morning farmers market/fair, but it was so inconvenient. Now, since it is every Monday and goes until 7, I can still take part if I have to work late. It's like someone actually listened to my complaining :) There were Port-o-Johns and a wash station set up. I thought that was a nice touch in case anyone were to need a restroom. Please stop in and take advantage of this new market if you are in the area. I want it to succeed and not be reduced to just the Labor Day weekend flea-market style fair. I visited the location in the village of Mount Pleasant (near Racine, WI) to check out their 8-acre corn maze. The theme this year is the Loch Ness Monster, but I wouldn't let the theme influence you either way as it did not have a significant impact on the experience. The maze is divided up into different sections/quadrants that can easily be identified by different colored (blue, yellow, white, and green) strips running throughout the maze. The colors don't ruin the level of difficulty; they simply let you know that you are progressing into the next section and are really something of a safety measure. I moved at a relatively brisk pace and was unencumbered by small children. That said, it took me approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes to complete, walking roughly three miles. I thought it was a neat experience, and it gave me a nice touch of nostalgia as I haven't done a corn maze since I was a kid. I recommend checking it out, but I think it would be challenging to do at night or with children requiring a stroller as the ground is obviously dirt and not even. *Also make sure to use the restroom prior to entering
