It could not have possibly been an "open box", unless you consider it open-box in the sense that any product that has ever been purchased is. The back mesh had a tear at the base, the seat depth mechanism was broken and gives way on the left, leaving the seat uneven. How can you sell a chair, used or otherwise without sitting in it or looking at it? And how could it have gotten damaged in two unique ways during a normal return period? To top it off, it wasn't even fully loaded, it didn't have the forward tilt option. EDIT: More runaround from these people. They contacted me 2 days ago through yelp, offering to help. I tell her that their paypal guy acknowledged receiving the return already but gave me an excuse why he couldn't do the refund(blaming it on me of course). I proceeded to give him exact directions on how to do the refund(I use paypal for my business, too). The yelp contact asked for my order number so I send that. The next day I get a message saying they refunded me on the 13th. Do they really think I'd be bothering them if I had my money back? I responded immediately and am waiting yet another day for a response. How long should I have to wait for my money to be refunded? This was 100% entirely their fault. They only had to sit in or look at the chair to know that nobody would accept it. I wouldn't have paid $100 for that chair. THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAMMERS. LOOK AT THE OTHER 1 STAR REVIEWS. THEY WILL SEND YOU BROKEN USED UP CHAIRS AND CLAIM THEY ARE "OPEN BOX" OR LIKE NEW. This company sells absolute trash furniture. I bought two…read morepower recliners sofas from this company in January of this year. Each sofa has two recliners for a total of 4. Paid over $4k. Not even three months later, a recliner completely stops working. The power switch still showed red (getting power), but switch not working. Technician comes out- says power supply is good but switch went back. Replacement parts expected to take about 3 months. 2.5 months later, a second recliner goes out, this time while up so it can't even go back down. Original tech told me he was going to order 4 replacement switches and replace all of them. When I called to open claim on second recliner going bad, was told the initial tech only ordered 1. So now I'm out two recliners, who knows when the replacement parts will come in for first issue and I'll have to wait another several months to have second fixed. These are obviously faulty couches and they won't give me a refund. Quite literally the only reason I got these couches was to have the reclining functionality. Do not do business with this company. They don't sell quality products and fixed take forever. I'll be forming a claim with BBB and disputing with my credit card company.

Unfortunately due to water and environmental conditions the bottom rusted and leaked, necessitating replacement. Abt could not have been more helpful, in this time of need. The Abt office (Nathan) immediately and fully addressed the situation. The Abt plumbers delivered fast and truly excellent replacement with a new Reliance 50 gallon hot water heater and installed all the necessary copper pipe, valves and fittings---including full labor at no charge. The plumbers (Russell Cartwright and Tyler Fite) installing the unit were very meticulous and highly competent in every detail. They also were extremely helpful and courteous. I have used Abt exclusively for over forty years and recommended their products and service to numerous other home owners--no one has been disappointed. Their appliances and equipment are always top quality but their service and commitment to stand behind and service these products is both outstanding and exemplary. However, "Taylor" did not return my call. I then stopped by their location in Skokie. They had the chair. The sign said $1650 was the price. But when the salesman rang it up, the price had jumped to $1730. A supervisor I called at the corporate level could not explain the difference. Then a customer service woman called me to say they quoted a chair with lumbar support. I did not ask for this extra feature. I was not told the sale was being rung up with the add on. I could not get the store to see what the problem was here. So I will not be buying from Penny Mustard. If you are buying there, double-check the posted price versus what is rung up. Something is definitely off with their selling practices In my opinion.

This chair is pretty heavy duty, and super comfortable to work on, especially when you're working at a desk and on your computer on a daily basis. I recently moved two weeks ago from Chicago to the suburbs of Atlanta. The movers must have dropped the chair in transit because it was missing a castor and one of the other ones was cracked. I called their customer service number today and was transferred to Tracy Wernle. She was so incredibly helpful! Professional, kind, and helped me resolve the problem. I am receiving replacement castors for the chair and I am so grateful I got to speak with Tracy. This chair cost me over $300 so I was devastated thinking I would not be able to use it again. SO GLAD I CALLED. I recommend buying their products, customer service is a dying industry but they have it going in full force here at Essendant, Inc.

I went with my husband hoping to find a office chair or some furniture to use until my furniture arrives via Pod in a few months. Anyway they allowed (1) free piece of furniture and also was selling preused furniture for $39 and $99 bucks. We really lucked out. My husband found a big chair for our living room for free. We purchased a huge book case for my office. In addition to these pieces, we found a rolling ottoman and a side table. We were thrilled with our finds. This wharehouse is open to the public and had a floor dedicated to sale/clearance items and a bunch of new items too. The prices seemed reasonable on the new items too. Checkout website for items currently on sale. I would like to shout-out Mark (owner) and Junior for having awesome customer service. Junior helped me with approximating how many yards of fabric I would need to reupholster the chair that we got for free. Oh yes, I failed to mentioned they have lots of fabric for sale. At the event the fabric was only $5 a yard. Such a deal.
