It had been a few months of searching for the PERFECT engagement ring before I found the Diamond Gallery of Naperville. My fiancé & I desired to custom-create my engagement ring from scratch, but finding the perfect stone was the challenge. At first, I wanted a diamond-shaped rhombus... but it wasn't before long that I reverted to my childhood dream of getting a Marquise for my wedding ring, as the rhombus is hard to come by. In June 2012, I was visiting a friend (Jason) in Naperville, IL before heading to Chicago for a weekend getaway. Jason suggested I check out the Diamond Gallery before we head out. I was reluctant, but wanted to be nice and take his suggestion... and thank GOD I did! The Diamond Gallery is located in a strip-mall in the main area of Naperville - ample parking and easy to find. Upon arriving, I was greeted by a few sales people and the store owner's wife. I showed her pictures of what I liked and showed her what I didn't like in the store. She asked that I wait for her husband, Kevin, as he is the guru and she wanted me to share my ideas with Kevin. I was beginning to get impatient because he was so kindly helping the person in front of me, not being brief in conversation with that person just because another "sale" was awaiting him. This immediately showed me character... Finally, Kevin came over, greeted me, and within two minutes he said "I have the perfect diamond for you." Did I believe him? NO. I explained that the only way I would get a Marquise if it was in perfect ratio... I don't like the skinny Marquise OR the fat ones. He assured me that I would LOVE this diamond. Sure enough, he was right. I was speechless and I knew at that very moment I had found my diamond. (side note - Kevin is very direct and works with a sense of urgency but in a good way... don't confuse his knowledge & confidence with arrogance... he is just an expert in the industry. Take his advice!!!!) First thing I want to touch on - Kevin "promised" he would hold this diamond for me. When I told my parents of this after we had left, they were furious because they thought I would for sure lose this diamond. They said "no one holds a diamond without a deposit, Brittney." I had faith. Second thing, Kevin must have known that I would be the difficult type and assigned his BEST person on my "case"... her name is Jennifer. She is an Angel. Within the six months of working with Jennifer to create my ring, I sent way too many cranky emails and questioned the process a few times too many. In my defense, we were talking about my engagement ring, I am super discerning & persnickety, and being in a different city/state - I am sure you can imagine the anxiety I had about designing my ring from, what seemed, like worlds away. BUT - Jennifer ALWAYS answered my emails with the highest level of professionalism & tact. Her ability to calm my nerves is an uncanny quality to have... I will forever be grateful for her patience with me! She just knew when to throw in a smiley face and how to deal with my venting! Jennifer did literally everything she could to make my vision a reality. I sent her PDF after Picture after PDF with descriptions of my preferences.... In hindsight, I don't know how she did it! I had no clue the industry lingo or correct descriptive words to convey what I wanted... but she managed to understand my analogies and many likes & dislikes. We went through about six rounds of the CAD process and the final picture she sent made my heart melt. (side note - any other Bride would have been happy with any of the first five CADs she sent, they were all beautiful rings! I just had a very particular look I was trying to achieve.) When I finally met Jennifer (to pick up the ring), she nearly cried because we had been so closely working on this project for so long.. (or wait, was she crying to finally get me out of her hair... teehee) Still to this day, four months later, I stay in touch with her when I have questions about the care of my ring or other jewelry inquiries. I occasionally send her emails of the compliments I receive on my ring as well, along with the article in the Huffington Post where the ring was featured. Needless to say, my experience with the Diamond Gallery team was invaluable and so very special. They were so accommodating from initial meeting to the CAD process to explaining payment to pick up. My fiancé & I collectively designed my ring from scratch. Not many couples can say they have been through this process.... We were/are both thrilled with the outcome, it turned out PERFECT. Very knowledgeable and patient. I must've changed my mind a dozen times and she was helpful through the entire process. We bought a wedding ring set, took it to another Naperville Jeweler to have it resized from a 7 to a 4.5. This was a new purchase from a box store. When I called ahead of time and described the ring and what I needed done, also stating there was nothing around the bottom of the ring that would be in the way, the individual on the phone stated that it could be done. Knowing that without them seeing the ring there was no assurity it could be done, we mentioned we would bring it in to be looked over. We brought it in within 1 hour of the phone call. The ring was taken by a young lady into a back room so she could show it to someone (I guess the expert). We knew there was a problem, when they came back and shut the door, so we couldn't hear the conversation. They both reappear and the older woman stated that it could not be done do to the diamonds on the side of the ring and they don't size down more than 1 or 1.5. Of course I was disappointed, but my spouse stated we were at the wrong place. Sure enough we took it, the same day, to The Diamond Studio, they looked at it with no hesitation and said it would be ready in a week. We did not share our experience with Naperville Jewelers to The Diamond Studio staff. Well here it is, we picked it up today. As instructed and promised, the two rings were resized from a 7 to a 4.5, yes 2.5 size reduction and sodded together and it looks beautiful. I have stated this repeatedly and I will say it again. Don't say something can't be done, just say YOU aren't capable of doing it. The Diamond Studio has demonstrated their professional workmanship, talent, customer service without any hesitation. They didn't side eye me because it was an outside inexpensive purchase that I wanted them to customize to my requests. They just did it, without raising an eyebrow. I even asked them were they sure and listed the excuses the other Jewelry store had mentioned. They said, there is no problem. I just can't say enough. Thank you! My husband and I had been looking for a right hand ring for quite some time but we were less than thrilled with the merchandise offered at other area jewelry stores (not to mention the inflated prices,stuffy atmospheres, and snooty personnel). Even though we lived in the area we couldn't recall having seen any ads or mailers or anything for the Diamond Gallery and the store front is rather unassuming and can't quite be seen from 59. Either way, the husband, girlies, and I were out and about one afternoon so we decided to stop in and take a look. I must say spot on, other Yelpers! Spot on! Kevin's wife greeted all of us (including the kids) immediately upon walking in and offered us refreshments while browsing. While we weren't originally looking for a custom ring, Kevin and his wife helped us see what could be done within our budget and within our timeframe. Not once were we ever made to feel like our budget was insufficient. At no point in time did we ever feel like we were "being had" or like we were dealing with a "used car salesman". Kevin walked us through options, made recommendations, and even showed us some stones he had on site. He explained the things he looked for when selecting stones, settings, etc...and patiently answered all of our questions. There was a bit of a hiccup in the final delivery of our ring but Kevin managed to get everything sorted out and really went out of his way to do right by us. The hiccup wasn't anything catastrophic but Kevin's efforts were definitely welcome and much appreciated! He really went the extra mile to provide absolutely amazing customer service. Had such an amazing experience that I came back and bought a Christmas present, which they also had. When it came time for a special present for my mom, they knocked it out of the park. All of the 5-Star reviews are spot-on. I recently needed to purchase a diamond and ring. I have to say that the service received from Kevin and Jackie was fantastic. This jeweler offers a highly personal experience. They listened to exactly what I was looking for and then provided a range of choices and prices, as well as making recommendations based on their many years of experience. The diamonds they selected were all stones, making the selection process (relatively) easy even though selecting a diamond can be challenging. They are dealers for the Heartstar diamond, which, is at the top of the quality range for a diamond cut (which I believe is the most important criterion). They also showed me non-Heartstars along with the accompanying GIA certification paperwork so I could compare the specs and rings. Kevin and Jackie really knows diamond. They took 3 diamonds of different color ranges, mixed them up, and then Jackie, standing a few feet away, correctly identified the 3 stones based on the color spec. Pretty impressive. Kevin explained the Heartstar story in detail and I have to say that it's a very impressive stone. They also have a wide selection of rings, pendants, etc. and can create custom designs. I was unimpressed with their selection of engagement settings. The way the chairs are blocking the case is annoying. I did find one setting that had potential, but they could not set the stone while I waited (even if I made an appt. to come back), and I am not leaving my heirloom to be shipped out somewhere else. read more

My wife is the type that will shop around for hours to find the absolute best price, but we always end up back at the Diamond Gallery. We do our best to support small businesses in the area if pricing is competitive. However, we will order some products online if it makes sense. We always receive the lowest prices and it really makes us feel good to know we are supporting a small family run business. Their inventory is current and if you don't find what you want in stock they are more than happy to special order anything you need. We utilized the digital goldsmith software they have inhouse to duplicate a ring that my wife found in a high end fashion magazine. The ring cost a fraction of the price we saw on the vendors website we originally ran across in the magazine and we couldn't find one difference between the two rings. They went above and beyond to help us get the ring we wanted. When we went back to buy his ring I asked them to polish my engagement ring and wedding band so it'd be ready for our wedding next week. They found that one of my diamonds were loose and repaired it for no charge and polished all our rings.
