Friendly vegan spot (5/5 Green Stars) If you're visiting Milwaukee then a visit to E Brady St. is probably worth your while - a few interesting spots here, including Twisted Plants. I wanted to support my vegan brothers and sisters and, having being on the road (actually on Amtrak, so rails, really) for a while, I was craving some protein. Following the advice of the friendly staff members, I opted for an order of "Drummies" (Dazed & Confused) to maximize my protein intake. I ended up eating it in the restaurant and thought the vegan drumsticks were delicious with the two homemade sauces provided (ranch and chili). This dish is pricier than most of the others ($15, compared to a more reasonable $4 for fries or $10 for vegan mozzarella sticks) but memorable. The place could do with a few tweaks in terms of décor/atmosphere but the friendly staff helped make it a nice experience. I'm also rating the Twisted Plants 4.5 out of 5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, based on the following: * Everything on the menu - savory food and pastries - is vegan. * Most of the food packaging is compostable. * Staff members are happy to tell you what's in your food. The drummies that I ordered are from Lily's Vegan Pantry - made in Taiwan from soy and seasoning (no palm oil). * Cookies are from local vegan entrepreneur, Bunny's Bite. * It fills a useful niche of craveable vegan (elevated) fast food. This is the vegan spot for everybody. They have a great selection of foods that are well crafted and delicious. I ordered their vegan "chicken" sandwich and it was almost like the real thing. Wow! This was THE best burger I have had - it was just outstanding. I had the smoky bacon burger on a pretzel bun. It was perfectly done with a great BBQ sauce, grilled onions and "bacon". I can't think of the last time I had something so good! The server was very friendly and helpful - the strawberry lemonade was out of this world - sweet and tart with a huge lemon wedge. I've had carryout and food from the truck several times. Twisted Plants is the rare place that can truly satisfy even the most dedicated carnivore with big flavors to rival any burger joint. As a longtime vegetarian this is a treat. Yes, we want to eat healthy a lot of the time, but we also want ooey-gooey, flavorful sandwiches with caramelized onions and cheese and mushrooms and smokiness. My coworker is vegan so we came here twice while visiting for the Cheese Expo a few days and the whole experience here was amazing both times. The restaurant was clean when we dined in. I ordered the fried pickles and a caramel shake the first time. Both items were really good! The pickles were seasoned to perfection and the shake was flavorful. I've visited their Cudahy location several times and most recently ordered delivery via grubhub for this location--all amazing. Their up in smoke 'burger' is saucy, juicy, smokey and delicious. It truly rivals any burger (meat or meatless) around. The flavors are all so perfectly blended that it's the one burger in memory that I didn't pull the pickles off of. Why? Because their flavor blended perfectly without overwhelming the other flavors of the burger. Holy smokes, it was outstanding. For my side, I opted for their tater tots over fries (though I've had and do enjoy their fries). There was no upcharge for this and the tots were everything tots ought to be. This place is the bomb. They have amazing burgers and sandwiches and wings and vegan ice cream and shakes. First the things I did not love. We got the sweet chili cauliflower wings. Too much sauce. Hello, I was just at the Brady st location and order the chicken sandwich combo around 1:03pm. After 40min of waiting I asked one of the staff, if he could check on my order. I guessing he went to do that, but never came back to tell me anything. Ten min later I went to the counter to find out what's taking so long, I've waited almost an hour. He then saw that my order was up, and apologized, then packaged it up. (It was a Togo order) I asked if he could refill my lemonade, since I've been waiting so long. It wanted to charge me for that I said no. He then said that he refunded my payment, but he never took my card back to do that, so I'm guessing that didn't really happen. AH-MAZING vegan comfort food sold here!! This is their second location; this one's a little more spacious inside. SOUL PLANE - I ordered this spicy, with bacon, and extra chipotle mayo, no tomatoes. Finger licking yumminess! THIS IS THE END - loaded fries - I customize mine with no queso, no ranch, sub extra chipotle mayo instead- FIRE!!! I loved their Caramel Shake and will likely always order it, unless I just want to try another flavor. I tried the pineapple slushy and it was just ok. I think I'll stick to the shakes as my dessert drink of choice. Twisted Plants is the perfect place for vegans to introduce their non vegan friends to how delicious meat-free eating can be. Visited strawberry fest with my siblings today and I sweee it gets busier every year! We are all vegetarian and we're so excited to see a plant based vendor (and with the shortest line!!). I stopped by with a group of friends. Most of us eat meat but we're interested in trying their menu. Everyone was incredibly happy with their meal. I ordered Chik'n tossed in Buffalo. Oh my goodness. As someone who loves chicken, I cannot recommend this dish enough. The buffalo sauce was so perfect, the breading was perfectly crunchy, and the "meat" was incredibly flavorful. I would recommend these over the most normal chicken nuggets. I would love to see some kind of vegan blue cheese dip in sauce on their menu in the future because it would go so well with their buffalo. I ordered delivery via Grubhub from twisted plants shortly before closing time on April 4th 2024. Here's what I ordered: 1. Up in Smoke Burger, Add BBQ Jackfruit, Ketchup on the side. - the fact that I added the bbq jackfruit was definitely a lot, and bits of burger/jackfruit was falling out with every bite. There was a ton of sauce everywhere. It was so messy. And it was kind of wonderful. I think I would have liked a little less sauce because the flavor was overwhelming but I really wanted to try the BBQ jackfruit and the up in smoke burger sounded so good... so I just needed to combine them. Maybe it would have been better with plain jackfruit or just the burger as is. I still ate the whole thing like a savage. I definitely enjoyed it. The bun was good. Maybe next time I'll get this burger as is or add some extra veggie bacon to it. The fries were just fine like nothing bad nothing special. 2. Dazed and Confused, Hot, Sub fries for Onion Rings - I did not like this at all. I couldn't even get myself to swallow one bite. I was very excited about this too. I was really hoping for a different texture than what it was. The of the veg chicken just was not good to me. I also don't know what I expected of a veg drumstick but there was something highly comical about having a wood stick hidden in the middle of the veg meat. The hot sauce that covered it was fine, nothing special. It came with ranch. Clearly I'm not a born Wisconsinite because I don't like ranch sorry yall. So I cannot speak to the quality of the ranch it came with. The onion rings were fine. I'm really glad I ordered ketchup on the side with my burger because otherwise I would have had to eat the fries from the burger and the onion rings from here plain. 3. Dirt Cake Shake - I slurped this down fast. I don't know what the difference between dirt cake and Oreo is because it kind of just tasted like a regular Oreo shake to me but I really liked it. It was so good. The perfect pairing to go with a burger and fries. Overall I really appreciate having a fully veg restaurant so I would most definitely order from here again. There are so many flavors of burgers that I would love to try something else or to re order the burger that I already tried. Really tasty vegan food. I've had various burgers and sandwiches, all of which were so good. Recently tried the assorted munchies platter, and it did not disappoint. The seitan "chicken drumsticks" were delicious. The nuggets were well spiced and had a good texture. Even the vegan "cheese" items were very close to the original dairy versions. I REALLY felt at home at Twisted Plants. With their cannabis themed menu and cafe it felt a bit like the old days in the 70s when our dorm rooms were giant bongs. I sure miss those times. I haven't been to Brady Street in decades. It has changed a lot but also hasn't changed at all and this store is great idea with a very nice plant based menu. I went with the Up In Smoke and it was huge and delicious. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The prices are a bit more than I usually spend but the quality for my sandwich and fries was worth it. I just love this place. I'm not vegan but I love their burgers and fries! This was my first time to the Brady street location. It's cute but small. We had the cauliflower bites, burgers and I tried a slushee. I loved the up one smoke burger - my go to! My friend liked hers, the Superbad, but thought the pepper jack "cheese" had a weird texture. The slushee (yellow/pineapple) wasn't very good. It tasted a little like soap or maybe that's what fake pineapple slushee just tastes like? The cauliflower bites were extremely bready and not my favorite. I wouldn't order those again, but I will definitely be back for my up in smoke burger! read more

Incredible!!! I came here with my friend who is vegan and we both agreed this was some of the best plant added food we've had. Perfect for late nights and just hits the spot. The staff was super friendly, and make excellent T suggestions. My favorite was the sweet chili cauliflower wings.
