Bistecca (44oz Angus porterhouse with sautéed mushrooms, cauliflower and potatoes)--delish!
Eunhae H.

Located in the heart of downtown, Lupi & Iris is a gorgeous open-kitchen restaurant. I came on a weekday for dinner, and the main dining hall was all filled so we sat at the bar area, which was still lovely. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We started off with the Tarte au Chèvre, which is a baked goat cheese tart with smoked trout, Belgian endive, radicchio, cherry tomato and herb pistou, and the Pulpo a la Plancha, which was wood-grilled to perfection. Both appetizers were a hit! We especially enjoyed the Pulpo a la Plancha because the Spanish octopus paired so well with the Romesco sauce, chickpeas, orange and citrus vinegar. This dish was well-balanced and such a memorable dish. For the main course, we ordered the Magret De Canard and the Bistecca. The Bistecca was a wood-oven roasted 44 oz Angust porterhouse with sauteed mushrooms, cauliflower and potatoes. This entree could easily feed 4 people! I absolutely loved the steak!! We ended the night with the Pots de Creme au Caramel, which had the perfect balance of sweet and salty. Will definitely come back when I'm in Milwaukee!

So...we finally went to a wine pairing dinner at Lupis & Iris and loved it! For background, you buy your tickets ahead of time and share a table with other diners. Our meal had 6 tables of 6 people each. The meal was 5 courses with each course paired with wines from Zuccardi (Argentinian wine maker). For our meal, the third generation owner/winemaker of the winery talked about the winery, the wine making process as well as the wines themselves. Food and wine were both great and we had a fun night!

Shakshuka style dish

I stopped in for Sunday brunch and was genuinely impressed. I ordered a shakshuka-style dish with a cappuccino, and both were excellent. The moment I walked in, the space caught my eye the orange, white, and brown color palette gives the restaurant a bright, inviting vibe that feels different from most places. The bathrooms were clean always a big plus for me, and the bartender was super attentive throughout. It wasn't packed, but there were enough people to create a relaxed, chill atmosphere. Overall, a great brunch experience.

Wanted to try this place for a while so I came here with a friend. The whole dinner was an experience. From the decor and vibe of the restaurant to our wonderful server and service all around. Not many places nowadays put out a overall great dining experience. We ordered espresso martinis for our first cocktail and the use the espresso from the coffee shop next door, it was very delicious. There was so much on the menu that we wanted to try so we ended up going with the spring tasting menu to trial 5 dishes. This was perfect. Every dish was so well plated and perfect serving sizes. The timing between each dish was perfect and I liked that the server brought us new cutlery with every dish. I highly recommend the tasting menu but I also look forward to going back to try other items on the menu!!

The food was very good. I went for a dinner program so I was seated in one of the private dining rooms. It looks like they have at least two of them. The service was great in our space. The salad was delicious and I love that it had a slightly jammy hard boiled egg I feel you don't often get an egg unless it's a Cobb salad. The steak was amazing I challenged myself to order it medium well which if you know me you'd be shocked (I'm a well done and then some girlie!) the flavoring of the steak and veggies long with was a true chefs kiss. I ordered the olive oil cake which was a pistachio with a lime sorbet. Personally I wasn't a fan and just ate the sorbet but it was very sour/tart! I tried the other dessert from a friend and I should have gone with that one since it was delicious!

Been wanting to come here for a while, but you need to be very proactive with reservations. We finally aligned a performance at the Rep with a dinner here. Food: Everything we ordered was outstanding, with one very small exception. We started with a couple of special cocktails. The Piccola Noce, which is similar to an Old Fashioned, was delicious and lasted me the entire meal. The Rilasatti was like a sangria, but the texture was a little too much like punch for my taste. For food, we began with the Coquilles St. Jacques (scallops) and the Pulpo a la Plancha (octopus). For entrees, we had the Pez Espada (swordfish) and the Panisse (vegan chickpea cake). I could go on with details, but that would just make me hungry again. Everything was delicious. Very inventive combinations, thoughtfully plated, perfect temperatures, and nice portions. The one item I must call out is the swordfish. It was the best I have ever had and literally melted in my mouth, not an exaggeration. It came with two pieces. One was more than satisfying, and I could have taken the other home, but I knew it would never be the same reheated. So down it went. We had a little room left for desserts; the Olive Oil Cake, and Flourless Chocolate Cake. A great finish to a great meal! Service: From the moment we arrived until we left two hours later, the service was impeccable. The hosts, servers, and bartenders were professional, helpful, and genuinely nice people. When we arrived, we let our server know that we had a show to attend and needed to leave by 7:30. We ordered all the food up front, and they paced everything perfectly so we walked out at 7:35. The pacing was excellent, and the entire time we felt like we were the only guests there. Thanks, Allison. Atmosphere: I really like how the room is set up. There are tables in the front and rear, with the bar and wine room in the middle, which breaks up the space and makes it feel more intimate. The overhead lighting is stylish and interesting. The tables are spaced nicely. The holiday decorations were attractive. We also noticed later that there is a chef's counter and tables that put you right up close to the kitchen and cooking action. That would be a fun experience and something we would definitely try next time. The entire evening was excellent. They do an outstanding job, and it never feels forced, even though you know a lot of care and effort goes into making it that way. A great place for a memorable meal and absolutely somewhere we will be returning to.

First tip: they validate parking in the same building which I wish I had known because I parked 2 blocks away in a garage. We were seated near the kitchen. The ambiance is upscale. I liked the kitchen seating since it felt more secluded than the main. Waiter was phenomenal. Very attentive but not over the top. He coursed the food for us. I shared the oysters, octopus, beet salad, and the duck. Oysters - okay, I felt that the mignonette was very vinegary. Scallops- capers made it salty but oysters standalone were seasoned well. Octopus - probably would not get again, salty, overdone and charred. Beet salad- light, refreshing, citrusy. Would recommend The duck - SO DELICIOUS! Perfectly seasoned. I kind of hate myself for sharing this. Olive oil cake - refreshing, citrusy, not too sweet! Loved it Would come back. Do expect a long meal time. Seated at 645 and probably left around 9-930

Exquisite dining in the heart of Milwaukee. Everything was perfectly curated from start to finish. Each drink and dish that came out was met with surprise and delight in presentation and taste. The service was just what you'd expect for this caliber of an establishment; over the top knowledgeable and accommodating. Fun atmosphere with an open kitchen where you can feel the energy permeating all around. We'll be back!

I went to Lupi and Iris on a Saturday evening with my husband and our friends. We had a wonderful time! Make sure to get a reservation, especially if you're going on a weekend! Cocktails were amazing and a specialist helped us pick out a few bottles of wine that we loved. Our server was on top of it all night. The steaks were perfectly cooked and my seafood was delightful. Make sure you get the Tarte au Chèvre as an appetizer. It was so good we ordered a second for the table! It's a perfect place for date night if you're wanting something a little fancier. We loved our elevated experience!

Oeuf
Suzanne D.

Lupi & Iris is a beautiful restaurant. It oozes a luxurious ambience from the moment you walk through the door. We visited for Sunday brunch and were impressed with the ambiance, food, and service. I enjoyed the Oeuf which is fried eggs on a croissant with French ham, Gruyere cheese, roasted tomato and argula. I had the choice of fries or fruit and opted for the decadence of the fries. I requested mayo and the side and was delighted to find it housemade. The sandwich was delicious but definitely needed to be eaten with a fork! My husband enjoyed the Quiche Lorraine which looked amazing. The portions of both were incredibly generous. We were well taken care of by our server and everyone we spoke with was very friendly. Definitely a top notch brunch spot and I would love to visit again to try dinner.

High quality spot we dined at for lunch--best meal of our Milwaukee weekend. 4.5 stars Food 4.5 Service: 4 Atmosphere 5 Cost to worth it rating: 3 Opentableable: no but via Tock Return worthiness: yes Highlights: - Steak sandwich: the picky teen enjoyed his. -Cooked medium rare to order which was perfect on a toasted ciabatta roll. 4.5 stars - Trofie pasta: not what I expected which was pretty much an upscale mac and cheese with one of my fave pasta shapes I'm used to having with pesto. Super rich and cheesy blend with a creamy texture and touch of lemon. Got to choose a smaller or larger size and got the larger but took leftovers back. 4.5 stars - Steak frites: another good cook with quality meat and crispy salty thin fries. 4 stars - Wines: lovely by the glass options. Had a nice champagne - Cocktails: hub had a version of a classic old fashioned he enjoyed - Atmosphere: classy open beautiful dining room Lowlights: - Only had time for a quick lunch. Would be liked to have more time for a full dinner. Fully enjoyed our delightful lunch in this top notch establishment and would love to return to try more items.

Torta all'Olio d'Oliva
Michelle L.

We made a reservation here for lunch to celebrate our anniversary before leaving town. The staff went out of their way to make our day special which was a sweet gesture. The food was absolutely delicious. My steak was perfect and my husband devoured his burger. I needed to try dessert before we left and the Torta all'Olio d'Oliva did not disappoint. We will absolutely be visiting again next time I'm in town.

Olive oil cake, pistachios, cream and a lemon gelato

Service is always top notch! The food was delicious, we had the Taste Of Lupi and Iris. Started with goat cheese/beet salad, pasta coins, sea bass, lamp chop, and desert! Each course served in a timely manner, beautiful plating loved every course.
