Really good vegan comfort food - not the most (ie whole food, no oil, etc) health-ified familiar favorites were delicious - even my kids couldn't tell they were vegan and said they'd come back. We visited on a Saturday night. It was crowded. Street parking was fairly easy, but the streets were not well lit, and cars were plus/minus on stopping for pedestrians, so crossing felt a bit like playing frogger. The restaurant has good signage, and it was easy to spot. Despite being crowded, the line moved quickly. Paper menus helped with deciphering the unusual names for menu items, so we had our order figured out by the time get got to the counter. We appreciated that they had a kids menu. Service was quick after ordering. Many pickup and delivery orders. Our food was spot on, nothing was missing, and the place was very clean. Staff were friendly and accommodating. We'd come back for sure. Only regret was not trying a shake - we saw several people order them - they looked really good. The cookies also looked tasty! we tried several things - 1) Cauli bites - individual bites are similar in size to boneless buffalo wings - perfect crispy fried outside and steaming hot. We chose 2 sauces. The hot sauce delivered on the heat factor. The sweet chili was also good. Portions were generous. The ranch is delish - I wish they sold bottles of it! Tastes house made, very fresh and herbaceous - delicious. 2) Fried pickles -I heard these were good. My 10 year old ate the entire order before I could try a bite. The sauce was good. 3) Superbad - nice spice with the chipotle mayo, good sized burger. 4) Soul plane - regular and buffalo - no traces remained x 10 and 13 yo boys approved 5) kids chicken and sliders - we were able to sub fries for tots. 5 and 8 yo had no clue it was "vegan food" - nicely done 6) crispy chick'n salad - added crispy jalapeño in lieu of bacon - yum! Nothing disappointed. We will definitely be back. I wish there were a few more burger as salad options or things with more veggies/less fried, but everything was extremely tasty. I ordered Thanksgiving dinner online which was the only option and did not know until pick up that the food was cold and it came with directions for reheating and adding ingredients. Also, I called twice to ask what food(s) contained tree nuts as my son has a nut allergy and when the young lady who answered couldn't get a hold of the manager she said she assumed it was two items and told me what those were. As if I am supposed to feed my son the food on an assumption. I did get a call back after she spoke to the manager, finally. Lastly, the greens are clearly NOT cleaned as they are very gritty. I am unable to eat them. The food I made at home was way better than this food. I didn't expect much anyway so I wasn't super disappointed in the taste of the food but I am disappointed in the service and the cleanliness of the food. read more

As a vegan (woman) a good friend of mine catered to my needs by introducing me to this place. Upon arrival I fell in love with the welcoming artwork and music. I decided to visit again on a date and we decided on the $50 platter variety. To keep things short, they were out of an item on the platter. Typically They have a pretty strict " no substitution rule" in with due to fault on their end I was sure that they'd make an exception all things considered. The cashier was adamant of the no substitutions and that I'd still owe same price. I asked if there would be a manager willing to make the better judgment call and I was declined without checking so I dropped it and stated I'd wait for my partner to return from the restroom to see how he'd wish to proceed. Upon my partners return I notified him of everything in which he was dissatisfied with the info I gave him and basically asked for the same thing and asked will we still be charged the same though missing an item listed. Again the cashier was dead set in her answers and he asked for a manager. She then yelled back to the kitchen and a male cook stated he could offer extra items as replacement for what they had run out. I agreed and enjoyed my meal. What makes this a horrible experience was the cashier had the audacity to tell us that we'd pay the same for less. She lacked empathy, she had a no care it is what it is stance. Don't get me wrong she was patient and polite but lacked customer service skill and I'm certainly going to suggest retraining. I will no longer go here for my vegan meals. It really sucks because I drove from Fond Du Lac and he Chicago. We could have gone any other place(especially in Chicago) or any Milwaukee competition to support and to have b experienced this is unacceptable. read more

I had an interesting experience at Twisted Plants. While I got there two hours before they closed, I was unsure if they were actually about to close or had already stopped taking food orders by the service. There was one couple standing in front of us also waiting to place their order so I figured the place must still be open. However, the two guys working at the counter had their back turned to us and didn't even turn around to acknowledge our existence for 30 minutes! They were too busy making shakes I supposed to turn and say anything. That being said I give the service 1 star. On the food side of things - if you are a vegetarian and are looking for a variety of burger options, this is your place. I wanted to love this place so bad!!! Maybe I went on a bad day, I ordered the "chicken" sandwich spicy, and an order of cauliflower bites. I was sitting waiting for my food for at least 35 minutes and there were only a few other people in the restaurant. For those two things my total was around 32$ a little over priced for me. I will say the staff was pretty friendly although they were slow. The cauliflower bites were really good, the sandwich was pretty soggy and not worth the price. This was my second time heading to Twisted Plants Brady location. I am not vegan but the cauliflower bites are so bomb I needed to come back for more. We split appetizers and tried the sweet chili cauliflower bites, the motz sticks, and the fries. We tried ordering the chickn nuggets but they were out. I was not disappointed with any of the food. The fries are so crispy and cooked to perfection. The wings and the sauce were crunchy and slathered in sauce, I'm a sauce gal so this is bonus points for me. The motz sticks were definitely gooier than traditional dairy mozzarella sticks. We did like them but felt the cheese coated out mouths a bit more. I also love the vibe and the decor, staff are very friendly. My one star missing was more due to a food regulation violation type situation. We were delivered bbq cauliflower bites to our table and without noticing this is not what we ordered we started taking the lid of the ranch and such. The staff member came to our table to deliver the correct bites to us and stated they had brought the wrong item to us. They then proceeded to ask if we had eaten any of the bites, to which we said no but that we had dipped in the ranch that was on the plate with the bbq bites. They swapped out the ranch we had used and put it on our correct tray. They then took the cauliflower bites that were already on our table and delivered it to a different table. We were kind of in shock as we were in hospitality and are aware this is not correct procedure. The people at the table who received the bbq bites looked like they were also very surprised as they had seen the whole transaction go down. My partner and I had a fantastic time eating here with my sister, her partner, and our dad. It was well air-conditioned and the stoned veggies painted on the wall really set you at ease. I had the Pineapple Express burger and it was so good I almost cried. Best vegan food in Wisconsin imo. I unfortunately had to throw it out and waste the money leaving wanting something better :( don't get us started on the price of the burgers and what comes with it. We would have liked to get more drinks, but the waitress only came back once between ordering and the end of our meal. We had to leave our table and approach the bar to eventually get our check. I've visited this place a total of two times, once in each location. The location that is closest to me is the one in Milwaukee on Brady Street. First it was difficult for me to find Brady street location because there was no sign outside of the restaurant and secondly, Parking was horrendous. I had to park a block and a half away and then started looking for the address . The burger was good however I wished I had more fries. My order was to go and I waited about 10 -15 minutes for my order. It will be a long time before I go back again because parking is terrible at the Brady Street location! read more
