Our bartender was incredibly friendly, charismatic, and genuinely passionate about the menu. He took the time to explain dishes, offered thoughtful recommendations, and made the entire experience even more enjoyable. Every dish we ordered was outstanding. The deviled eggs were easily our favorite and are an absolute must-order. We also loved the flatbread with fiddleheads, which featured a delicious curry-inspired flavor that reminded us of an Indian dish. My husband couldn't stop talking about the bread pudding and said it was one of the best desserts he's had. Everything we tried was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. If we lived in Milwaukee, Odd Duck would absolutely become one of our regular spots. We can't wait to come back the next time we're in town.

Our server, Adam, was quick and attentive. He was funny, suggested items for us to try, and was very tentative of our friend's food allergy. We started the night with a few drinks; #39 non-alcoholic Paloma, #129 non-alcoholic sbagiato, and #33 Sherry Pear-Y. All of which were absolutely amazing! Then we ordered the Chili Crisp Deviled Eggs (comes with two pieces), Crispy Thai-Style Oyster Mushrooms, Cappelletti, Slow-braised Bison Cheek, Cha Ca La Vong (Catfish), and the Wood-fired Bavette Steak. Where do I begin? First off, everything was fantastic! Delicious, creative, and memorable. Some dishes even had us ordering seconds! First the Chili Crisp Deviled Eggs: so creamy! We ended up ordering another plate of them (four orders) because one wasn't enough for the four of us. The Crispy Thai-Style Oyster Mushroom: insanely seasoned! It was crispy and the kick of the Thai chili peppers, made it our tables favorite (we ordered another plate of this)! The bits of crunch rice mixed in was also a pleasant surprise. The bits of green beans and cucumber was a nice way to cool the kick of the spices. The Slow-braised Bison Cheek: It was very interesting. Very soft and when paired with the polenta cake, mozzarella, and carrot, it tasted amazing. Cha Ca La Vong (Catfish): Also very interesting. It tastes very similar to a Vietnamese catfish soup! The pineapple fish sauce paired amazing with the glass noodles. The only complaint I have about this dish, was that the glass noodles weren't fully cooked, so they were a bit hard. The Wood-fired Bavette Steak: My god, this was amazing! It was perfectly cooked, the dark chocolate bordelaise paired with the mushrooms and steak was incredible. Like I said, everything was amazing! Our table was blown away with the creativity and quality of the food. The service was amazing, everyone was very sweet and helpful. The atmosphere was lovely and quirky. It was fun spotting all the duck decorations. Honestly, cannot rave enough about this place, I look forward to the next time I visit!

It's rare to find a place where both me and my son can eat from the same menu, especially since he's a picky eater, but he finished his entire plate. Friendly vegan spot (5/5 Green Stars) If you're visiting…read moreMilwaukee then a visit to E Brady St. is probably worth your while - a few interesting spots here, including Twisted Plants. I wanted to support my vegan brothers and sisters and, having being on the road (actually on Amtrak, so rails, really) for a while, I was craving some protein. Following the advice of the friendly staff members, I opted for an order of "Drummies" (Dazed & Confused) to maximize my protein intake. I ended up eating it in the restaurant and thought the vegan drumsticks were delicious with the two homemade sauces provided (ranch and chili). This dish is pricier than most of the others ($15, compared to a more reasonable $4 for fries or $10 for vegan mozzarella sticks) but memorable. The place could do with a few tweaks in terms of décor/atmosphere but the friendly staff helped make it a nice experience. I'm also rating the Twisted Plants 4.5 out of 5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, based on the following: * Everything on the menu - savory food and pastries - is vegan. * Most of the food packaging is compostable. * Staff members are happy to tell you what's in your food. The drummies that I ordered are from Lily's Vegan Pantry - made in Taiwan from soy and seasoning (no palm oil). * Cookies are from local vegan entrepreneur, Bunny's Bite. * It fills a useful niche of craveable vegan (elevated) fast food. Next time I want to try the Crispy Chik'n Salad (made with organic greens) as it's one of those dishes I never tried before I went veggie.

They had a wide variety of gain bowls, salads and wraps to choose from and they all looked good. I ended up choosing the Asian BBQ grain bowl and a hibiscus tepache to drink. Let me start by saying, I did not realize how big the grain bowls were. They are big enough for either two people to share or for one very hungry person. I could not eat it all because the portion size we just huge. The bowl had so much flavor and a little kick of spice--just enough from the poblanos to make it a tad spicy but not so much your mouth was burning. The BBQ sauce melded with the grain well too and added a little bit of sweetness to the bowl. Overall, the bowl was great and I would definitely order another one or try some of their other options as well. The tepache tasted similar to kombucha if you have never had once. This was my first time trying it so that was the only thing I could relate it too. The hibiscus flavor was nice and light but overall I would just get a water next time--I just do not think I am a kombucha or tepache person.

I stopped by for a scoop of mint chip custard and it was creamy, rich, cool, and delicious. But - really is there no bad day for custard? No, there isn't! This place is busy all year round, and for good reason. For the custard, there is usually a flavor of the day, plus the usual favorites, vanilla and chocolate, plus a sundae and shake of the month. A sign outdoors advertises the flavor of the day and a monthly menu of each flavor of the day is available online, if you want to plan ahead for your visit. If you've not been to this Milwaukee icon, it's a must-stop; the custard is really, really good. The retail store is set up like a 50s type diner, and there are plenty of folks ready to take your order. There is no seating indoors, just a few tables for standing-only to munch and chat. However, there is outdoor seating like a mini amphitheater on cement steps, and when the weather is nice, it is not unusual to see large groups of customers sitting outside eating ice cream or other treats or burgers. The menu also includes burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, shakes, malts, floats, and sundaes, too.

I also love their rotating Flavor of the Day custard options, and they even post a three day forecast so you can plan ahead. Overall, Kopp's is a great spot for both food and dessert. Definitely recommended.
