Came here for lunch. Counter service and you eat standing up it you can find a stand up table. Ordered grilled chicken sandwiches and cheeseburgers. Got fries and onion rings. All very good and reasonable prices. Chicken sandwich was very large. And good. Had a sample taste of custard and that was awesome but very rich. Typical ice cream parlor atmosphere.
Seems to be a popular place. Was a little overwhelmed ordering. Ended up ordering a sundae or something, should have just got a scoop of vanilla or chocolate. The burger was huge, bigger than Whataburgers, my husband really enjoy his burger but I didn't really care for mine. His cone was good but i messed up on my sundae.
Tried Kopp's Custard, custard was good but service left something to be desired. Place is definitely busy, expect a crowd. Good custard overall, just wish the service matched.
Haven't been here in years The Strawberry Shake and the cheeseburger with onions Service is good and Ambiance is like Happy Days you stand around the tall tables no chairs or outside.
This was my first visit to Kopps - but if I ever come to WI again I totally will come back here. First off, everything was absolutely delish. I went w the vanilla cone, and other members of my party got the butter pecan or the root beer float. We were all very happy w our orders. Second, I can't believe how affordable it was. I can't speak for the burgers and other food - but they seemed popular.
Wait was longer than needed. I wish there was table.seating available for these monster burgers. Otherwise the burger was really tasty and huge. Good value for the amount t of food. I also had onion rings that were crispy and good. We sat outside by the fountain. Parking was difficult. Lost a star Bc of parking and lack of tables/seating. My daughter dropped her coke and eating on a bench sucked. Curious how people eat here in colder months?? Custard was good, I had a vanilla Sunday with strawberries, tasty, but Leon's was better. Don't hate :) I'm new to custard
Well the guy on the ketchup station looks gross n touching doors and everything that's not food then dipping his hands in the onion bucket then to top it off refills the ketchup the over spill with the sane gloves wipes it up with his fingers turn places it back in side the ketchup bottle puts the lid on n proceeds to work at his station using the same contaminated ketchup on customers food that everyone has to eat. His appearance even looks bad . My first n last time . Teach your workers about cross contamination.. ppl can get really sick from his poor practices. Pray over your food ppl . It's Shame I can't get topping on my food bc he contaminated everything
Kopp's was packed. There's not much room to dine in, just a few tables along the wall where you can stand if you're lucky enough to grab one. There are also stairs outside, and a lot of people were out there eating and hanging out. Even though it was so busy, they had a really organized system and the wait wasn't too long. But that burger was good. You could actually taste the butter, and it was huge. The toppings were fresh too. I also tried the custard of the day, wedding cake, and it was so good. It even had a moist piece of cake mixed in. If I'm ever in town again, I'd go back.
This is always a set stop on our road trip from Chicago to Wisconsin, but our experience was a bit more disappointing this time. Even though we were one of the first guests (right after 10:30), we still had to wait about 15 minutes for our food & custard and it wasn't even that busy this time. The meat quality is good but I didn't like my burger the Kopps way. My husband ordered it like this because it seemed easy and good, but it had way too much relish and onions. This trip we had a 6 and 1,5 year old with us and this place can be a little stressful with young kids as there is no official seating. They did like seeing the cows in the parking lot and the spoon and cherry "statue" inside.
As someone who grew up in Wisconsin and moved away- when I come back this is the only spot on my must-visit list when I come home. I bring all my out of town visitors here for iconic big, flat, buttery burgers and the best custard. You haven't had custard until you've had Kopps. All the people I bring say it's lived up to the hype...and I hype it a lot. It's loud inside, can get busy but it's worth it. Seating is mostly outside, there are a few standing tables inside but you'll likely want to take it somewhere else to eat (perhaps your car...) in the winter if it's packed. Get onion rings (they're panko and not beer battered which make them feel less greasy imo), a cheeseburger with the works to split with someone and custard with a root beer!
We had to wait a bit on a Sunday afternoon, but it was well worth it. We tried the special French Toast sundae, Blue Moon milkshake, and the Turtle sundae. Everything was delicious, and top notch! I've heard the burgers are huge and delicious, too. The pup really enjoyed his Pup Cup!
When I first moved to WI, everyone told me I needed to go to Kopps. I can say it lived up to h the hype!! The custard is delicious and there are so many flavors! The burger and fries were also SO GOOD. This will be a place I frequent
We liked this place! Decently priced burgers, fries and of course custard. A beautiful June evening and plenty of space to eat outside. Got fries, one cheeseburger with the works minus mustard and one plain cheeseburger for the two toddlers to share (and since these cheeseburgers are as big as your face it was double the amount of food they could eat). Set us back about $18 minus tip. After all that shared as a family the Kopps Special Sunday (about $9). Top notch choice!

My third visit to Kopp's, and it continues to deliver. The food is consistently good, the frozen custard is excellent, and the prices are reasonable. This time I had the KRK Burger with fries and onion rings along with two scoops of Cookies & Cream custard in a waffle cone. Everything was delicious. The restaurant is clean, well lit, and runs efficiently. Even when it's busy, the staff keeps the line moving and is always friendly and helpful. I also love their rotating Flavor of the Day custard options, and they even post a three day forecast so you can plan ahead. Overall, Kopp's is a great spot for both food and dessert. Definitely recommended. read more

I am giving a 2-star rating for the incredibly disappointing service I received and the dirty bathroom. I placed an order at 8:17PM for 1 junior sundae and 1 scoop of icecream in a dish. I noticed around 8:30 that many people were receiving their orders before I got mine. At 8:33PM, I asked a girl at the counter to check on my order and she rolled her eyes and asked another girl to check on it. The other girl asked to see my receipt and she found my order in a paper bag on the counter and it was forgotten about (I did not ask for a bag and I said I didn't need lids when I ordered). I received the order and when I opened it, they didn't give me spoons. I asked for spoons and the girl seemed annoyed. No apology for the mix up or anything. Also, I went to use the bathroom and it was disgusting. Very dirty, see the video. The icecream tasted great though. read more

I see the appeal to Kopps, that's for sure!! Even in 20 degree weather, this place is busy as ever! I love that they rotate their flavors daily; so much innovation. Super quick service, lots of standing room. Can't wait to be back the next time we visit! read more

Kopp's custard and hamburgers are the best! I am obsessed with them. I went to school in Milwaukee so I tried Kopp's many years ago. I always order the delicious burgers. For custard, I usually get the flavor of the day or chocolate and vanilla. I used to go all season, even when it is cold out. The place gets busy, especially during the warm weather and weekends, but the service is fast. There are no seats inside, just tall tables. There are benches outside. Can't wait to make the trek up to Milwaukee soon! read more
Key Lime Pie Custard: Kopp's was founded in Milwaukee in 1950, meaning they've been serving up jumbo size burgers and frozen custard for 70 years. Along with their everyday flavors, Kopp's offers two rotating flavors of the day. Key Lime Pie happened to be one of the flavors the evening of a friend's wedding and someone grabbed a couple quarts for a late-night dessert at the reception. As I'm not a fan of key lime pie in general, this is a flavor I would never go out and purchase on my own, but I thought I'd still give the custard a chance to prove me wrong. The large pie crust pieces found throughout are possibly the best I've had. I was blown away by how good they were! That said, the key lime custard was gross in my opinion, but like I mentioned, so is key lime pie. Way too tart for an ice cream or custard flavor. Avoid (unless you're a fan of key lime pie). This is a one star custard flavor, but I'm going to give Kopp's four stars for all their other great flavors and burgers. Doughboy_Food_Reviews read more
My husband has been coming to Kopps since he was a little kid, every time we visit Mke it's a requirement for us to come Here and he says it takes him Back to his childhood. I come for the delicious custard. Service is always quick. read more
Food: 4/5 Service: 2/5 Food was solid, would say the custard was definitely the best part. We got the KRK burger which is massive and something that we didn't know is that it already comes with fries AND onion rings. Great value. Eating the KRK burger was super messy though, as the burger didn't really stay together, and everything was just sliding around. I've eaten plenty of burgers before, and that was abnormally messy to handle Service was awful. Nobody was happy and you could see it on everyone's faces. All the employees were stoned face, and when I asked the cashier a question, she was able to answer it but used 0 words - she essentially just pointed. Food took a good minute to come out but it was busy that night. I get that yea maybe it sucks to work at a fast food place, but their sullen attitude was visible and felt. read more

Busy place! We had the warning from our friends who proclaimed this establishment a "must" during our time in Wisconsin. On a Tuesday afternoon though, it wasn't too bad. We enjoyed onion rings and a variety of custards, cones and toppings. It all lived up to our friends' claims. The generous onion ring serving had the perfect ratio of breading and onion and was perfectly cooked. The custard flavors are limited to a flavor of the day plus chocolate and vanilla. There are plenty of options for sundaes and toppings. The cookie dough flavor of the day that I had was above average in flavor and creaminess. There was not a complaint among our rather large group. There is no dine-in option. There are standing tables and a pleasant in pleasant weather concrete sitting area outdoors. Knowing this in advance was helpful. read more
Being born and raised in San Francisco and having lived in Los Angeles for many years, I was brought up with the In & Out hamburger chain. It has always been my bench mark for how I rate this iconic sandwich. Just to let you all know, I can certainly differentiate the difference between a $35 Au Cheval cheeseburger and a $7 double double at In & Out. I do not make the mistake to confuse the two! That being said, our recent stop in Milwaukee driving back to Chicago from Green Bay Wisconsin found us at Kopp's Frozen Custard. This place was as busy as any In & Out I've ever been to with and had the same buzz going on. First off, the Kopp cheeseburger was way bigger than my double double at about the same price. The fries were really good here at Kopp's also. Would I come back here to Kopp's - a resounding YES! Was it as good as my home spun In & Out - not far behind it but (I could be prejudice) I&O is still in first place. read more
This is my favorite place to eat in all of Wisconsin!!! First let's start with the food. The burgers and fries are to die for!!! The burgers are as big as your head and the fries are hand cut, at least that look like they are. Reasonable prices too! The custard is a separate world of excitement. They post all of their daily flavors on their website a month out along with their monthly sundaes and shake flavors of the month. The custard is so creamy and flavorful and their sundae and daily flavor creations are so creative! It's a car hop vibe where you order at the counter they call out a number. No seating inside so I took it and ate in the car. Service was quick although the food takes much longer than the custard. I finished my concrete before my food was ready. Overall, I always look this place up when heading to Milwaukee! read more
We came here after eating some burgers and Sollys down the street. So we unfortunately didn't get to try any of their food. Only ordered their frozen custard. The customer service was great. Very friendly, fast and efficient. Pricing was fair as well. My only issue is the lack of flavors. They have vanilla, and chocolate and then the flavor of the day. Which was cookie dough. So in other words still vanilla with just cookie dough pieces. Regardless of the lack of flavors, it was still damn good frozen custard. Will definitely be returning to see check out their flavor of the day. You can also never go wrong with just plain ol vanilla. read more
Kopp's started in 1950 in Milwaukee by a German immigrant after husband had Parkinson's. She had no restaurant experience, and now some years later, 74 years, there are three restaurants. Each with their own identity! We have been enjoying their restaurants for some years... my husband use to venture to Kopp's on his bike for burgers for college .... Now some years later we enjoy our visit as a couple....we enjoy grilled chicken sandwiches and sundaes. Unfortunately like everything prices have gone up and size of sandwich has shrunk. Sandwiches use to be $2.10 in 1994 and today $6.50 with nothing on them except for grill onions, everything else is a charge including tomatoes. A bit pricey for this sandwich these days as just a thin piece of chicken. The custard is still yummy....a new flavor everyday that you can monitor online. Plus really good fudge. A junior sundae is $3.99. As for seating. Outside space on cement risers available or you can take it to go! Worth a stop for custard! read more

Do they have dairy free ice cream?
They do not. But the non-ice cream food is worth a visit by itself!
How far is kopp's from the pfister hotrl?
About 10 miles. Would be a long walk. Could take a bike from downtown on the Oak Leaf trail. Trail is safe but I do prefer to take it in day light.
