    Samosa chaat

This is my go to place for freshly made Indian delectables. Desserts and snacks hold a special place in every indians heart. This place hits the spot with it's freshly made variety of Indian sweets and snack items. I walked in here on a busy Saturday morning and ordered a Chaat item to try. The Chaat tasted fresh and reminded me of home. One of the better places in the Milwaukee area

Bombay Sweets has been a favorite go-to for quick Indian vegetarian food for years. Most recently, we got four orders of chole bhatura, with side orders of saag paneer and dal makhani. The chole bhatura was excellent. We also picked up a pound of gajar ki burfi (carrot burfi) for dessert, which is a nut-free burfi alternative. For years, this also has been our go-to spot for ordering samosas for parties or as a potluck dish. We've been here multiple times over the years to grab a quick meal before shopping for groceries next door. I recommend this as a consistently tasty place for Indian snacks, desserts, and to satisfy that craving for Indian food.

Bombay sweets is definitely home away from home! I got food and snacks from them everytime I miss Mumbai. They have a very friendly staff and help in understanding that the different snacks and sweets are. Try their fresh samosas and street food snacks, your taste buds will be in a food coma. I got my diwali spread from them and BOY! did they nail it with the taste, colors and freshness! Their food pick up is efficient and they follow all Covid and social distancing protocols.

    Burnt Pav (bread)

Did uber eats from bombay sweets and ordered pav bhaji. I received burnt pav ( bread) with curry of potato and peas... how disappointing! being an Indian restaurant how can you do that and serve your customers such food... also the curry was so spicy that I had to throw food. Total wastage of money!!

I love that they took the time to make items for me without dairy to vegan. I am allergic to dairy and they took the time to make dishes allergen free for me. I love Indian food, the herbs, and the spices, but I have not been able to eat it in years. This place is amazing. Download the app, it's worth it.

I tried their platter, almond milk dessert, and Mango Lassi and they were delish! I would recommend this to everyone. You don't have to be a vegetarian to love their food. They have a massive selection of food, drinks, and dessert, and have been around for almost two decades. Best of all they are affordable and cheaper than all the Indian restaurants I have been to. I will only make a comment about their platewear, utensils, straws, and cups, they all came in disposables which are not environmentally sustainable. Styrofoams and no. Recyclable plastics are. It good for the environment. Other than that the food is great! Bring your own straws and utensils :)

    The desserts here are delish!

I absolutely LOVE Bombay Sweets. Hands down, this is one of my favorite go-to spots in the area and I've been coming here for years. I'd like to think of this place as a real "no frills, all flavor" sort of place. It's chill, hella down-to-earth, and totally lunch or diner-esque. It's great. Grab a (cheap) date, your best buds, or your whole darn soccer team and get your grub on! (Done, done, and yes, done!) I feel like I'm slowly working my way through the menu (wait, I mean I ACTUALLY am) and everything I've ordered thus far I've enjoyed. Some dishes are definitely spicier than others and that's to be expected so I take it with a grain of salt (actually, take it with a mango lassi, you're welcome). What do I suggest trying? Samosa! Samosa! Samosa! $0.75 a pop? Yas! Doooooo it! That's what I'm talkin about! OK, other than samosas, here are some good "starting point" suggestions...#26, #25 (soup that comes with it is on the spicy side), #31, and #34. And if you have any suggestions for me, let me know! Did I mention the Mango lassi is amazing? Lol. Mmmmhm yes, you get the point? Did I say it also helps me to soothe the spice a little?! OK, ok, moving on... Some things to note: They will walk you through almost anything while being pretty patient. You can get anything ordered to-go! Pronto! You can even order online like through yelp! Sometimes restaurant.com has a deal for this place (ex. $20 of food at Bombay Sweets for $10). Winning! They have a TON of sweet and savory snacks/desserts lined up in glass cases for you to drool over and order. You can get the sweet and savory snacks packaged up and even gift boxes if you need (those are separate). All of their main meals are pretty much between $5-7. See? I told you, cheap date! OK, one last thing. It's not so good. But try not to hold it against them...They use styrofoam. It sucks but it's what they use. I'm sure it helps keep their cost down and all but, *long dramatic sigh* yeah...kind of a bummer but the food is worth it. Trust me. If it still bothers you, you can get creative and take your styrofoam home. Make an art project. Feel better.

Fucking love this place…read more If there is a highly rated small plates place in a location we are visiting, you can count on us to find it. We walked literally thirty minutes to this place from our hotel. It was a lovely walk in early August. We had a 5:45pm reservation on a Thursday (we are old now) and we were seated immediately. Service was excellent. Ok so they have a fantastic cocktail menu. I appreciate any cocktail menu that is more complex than vodka and cranberry juice but this takes it to another level of creativity. I also like how they name them with numbers. It's so much easier to say "I'll have a 42" rather than "I will have a duperbeamerscicle". I started with an "88" with pisco, rose-poached strawberry, amontillado sherry, verjus, rose port, and pink peppercorn. Served in a highball glass and garnished with berries. Very refreshing. GF started with the "91" mezcal, passion fruit, poblano, pineapple, amaro, lime. Gorgeous and chic. Very strong, smoky flavor. When in Rome, so the cheese plate did not feel like an option. Four fantastic cheeses were served with very tasty candied nuts, some jam business, grapes, and some of the best bread I have had on a cheese plate. Thick, soft, and fluffy. Paired absolutely perfectly with cheese. Only complaint is that I wish there was more of it. I haven't had deviled eggs in a minute so I went wild and also had the chili crisp deviled eggs which were SPECTACULAR. I also got the Egyptian fried cauliflower which is served on a smear of harissa and lemon tahini. Very flavorful. Star of the show tbh was the tagliatelle with squash, tomato, these fried cheese crisps. The noodles were al dente and SO GOOD in such a wonderful sauce. GF also got the steak, she says "very good seasoning". I helped her out with the kimchi pancake. Wonderful. Such a great sauce. For our second round of dranks we both went with the "77" makrut lime vodka, tamarind, bird's eye chili, cilantro, lime, lemongrass. Very tamarind forward. Very unique. I can see why it's our server's favorite drink on the menu. The desserts looked really good (something with sticky rice I think it was a cocktail and a bread budding that looked fantastic) but we just weren't feeling it.

Our bartender was incredibly friendly, charismatic, and genuinely passionate about the menu. He took the time to explain dishes, offered thoughtful recommendations, and made the entire experience even more enjoyable. Every dish we ordered was outstanding. The deviled eggs were easily our favorite and are an absolute must-order. We also loved the flatbread with fiddleheads, which featured a delicious curry-inspired flavor that reminded us of an Indian dish. My husband couldn't stop talking about the bread pudding and said it was one of the best desserts he's had. Everything we tried was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. If we lived in Milwaukee, Odd Duck would absolutely become one of our regular spots. We can't wait to come back the next time we're in town.

I have had this numerous times here and it has always been my favorite! the baked beans are just a little sweet n tangy, the eggs are however you like them cooked, and the mushrooms at a bit of earthy flavor. If you have ever been to England, the only difference is there is no white or black sausage here. I don't exactly like it so I am glad the sausage here is more like a broiled regular one. The London fog here is the ONLY one I like in MKE! They always put just the right amount of vanilla syrup and milk in it. Most places end up making it super sweet but this place is PERFECT! I come here occasionally because it's also cute and we like to sit in the window and people watch. The service is great and you just order from your phone at the table you choose and pay using Apple Pay or a card.

Hats off to their host for being friendly and even a little entertaining and I like that you can order coffee at the register area and drink it while you wait. Too bad you can't get a cocktail out there. The menu sounded great and we were ravenous so we were excited to order. By the time we were seated we were limited to about 40 minutes to get to a ticketed event, all in. I told that to our waitress so she could pace the meal accordingly. While I understand that she can't control the kitchen time, I don't think she showed any expediency or attention to my statement. Spoiler alert - we were late. Two of us ordered the biscuits to start with jam. I was happy to try them and they were good. My coffee based martini hit the spot, but it was spilled a little when it hit the table and our server didn't say anything or wipe it off. My mom liked her bloody Mary and it was decent. When our food came I was immediately disappointed by the appearance. My chilaquiles looked like they had sat under a heat lamp for ages - the egg was dried and over firm. My chips were spicy, but 100% soggy and nasty. My black beans were - meh. Not a good dish overall. My mom actually didn't find fault with her Honeypie Benedict. I tried the hollandaise and it was fine. My cousin did not enjoy her Hopple Popple skillet at all. (Potatoes, bacon, caramelized onion, mushroom, bell pepper, cheddar, two scrambled farm eggs) She found it difficult to find any egg, as it was apparently shrunk into tiny bits. The potatoes were like fries and it was overall bland. Not a winner. We certainly won't be back. The dishes don't live up to the interesting descriptions of them and the hype seems to be from an earlier, better time for this restaurant.
