    fried pork roll

Such a delicious place to try! The ambiance alone is so beautiful, nicely decorated and beautiful cultural pieces. I was in the mood for something more warming and was sooo satisfied with the coconut chicken soup I got. Very creamy but light and the flavor itself is sooooo good. Comes with a crunchy topping with lime and onions, such a great combo! The goat curry was just okay. I wasn't a fan cause the spice level was 3 out of 5 and I couldnt enjoy but the meat was also not that tender. The fried pork roll was delicious, loved the crunchiness. The samosa was alright too, packed with a lot of potato and I'm just not that into papas like that. I got a NA drink that was good, smelled gross but that taste was fine. The service was great!! Our waitress was younger and really nice. Made sure we had everything we needed. Would come back again for sure, especially for the soup!!

This place is spectacular. I'm so glad it opened! Don't take my word for it and go try! Then come back to my review so you can read: I told you so. Customer see was spectacular. I came here with a group of friends and we shared everything family style. I highly recommend this! As it allows you to try many delicious things! The coconut chicken noodle soup is heavenly. You must love coconut as I do. If you appreciate any coconut based curries, you'll enjoy this. To me it tasted so comforting. Like a warm hug. I can't wait to get this soup again when it's cold. It's gonna hit so different. As you can tell from my pics we tried lots of food. But before I get to that, you must older yourself a Burmese Milk Tea. Drink it, come back to my review so you can read: You're welcome. Our group tried: Samoas, Fried Pork Ribs, Biryani, and the fried prawn curry I believe. All delicious. All devoured. The corner came over to our table and talked to us a bit about the food. She was so kind. I really want to try the sweet and sour pork next time. And I'm most definitely returning to get a milk tea!!

This is exactly what Bayview needed!!! The service was great, the food is even better, and the restaurant's large windows let in a lot of natural light making the atmosphere feel warm and inviting. My friend and I have been wanting to check this place out for forever. We split a few plates such as the samosas, papaya salad, and a noodle dish with medium heat. The noodles ended up being a little too spicy for my taste (and I'm usually a big fan of all things spicy), so I will plan to order them more on the milder side next time. Thankfully, the iced tamarind juice saved the day because it was so refreshing and a perfect contrast to the hot dishes. Even though the food brought a little too much heat for my preferences, I was still dreaming about it days after. It was my first time trying this style of cuisine ...and I think I'm obsessed!! I really can't wait to come back and try more of the menu.

What a fun new place! I saw this featured on the news and had to try it. I love Thai and Japanese cuisine, this place is a great mixture of all things Asian. I had the iced Tamarind juice, super refreshing and delicious. Went perfectly with the Kat Kyi Kaik. Similarly to pad thai but with a twist. Excellent. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. Overall great experience, will definitely be returning.

We visited on a Friday evening and absolutely loved everything we tried. The flavors were exciting and delicious, the portions were large, and the service was good. The space is bright and welcoming, with both bar and table seating. Casual dining but beautifully presented. Our group tried the Fried Pork Roll, Kat kyi kaik - spicy Burmese fried noodle dish (we chose pork), Pork Ribs, and Lamb Curry. They have a nice selection of beer, wine, and sake as well as NA drinks. Everyone loved their food! We will absolutely be back - this family owned restaurant is such a great addition to the Milwaukee food scene and the neighborhood.

After two visits, I'm convinced that Ni Burmese is consistently excellent! The food and service has been excellent, and the restaurant is clean. On my first visit I shared samosas, Fermented Tea Leaf Salad and Mont Hin Gar, the latter two dishes being noted traditional Burmese dishes. All of the dishes were exceptional, and my friend enjoyed her fried fish curry (note that there are some bones in the fish). I didn't know what to expect with the Fermented Tea Leaf salad, but I trusted the Burmese culture, and it was the right call! It was delicious! On my second visit, another friend and I shared the Fried Pork Rolls (eggrolls), Aloo Cutlets (fried potato fritters with a soft center and chicken filling), Beef Curry (served with steamed rice and an amazing side salad), and Coconut Chicken Noodle Soup. Again, every dish was excellent! Most dishes can be made spicy, levels are 1-5. I chose level 2 for my Beef Curry, which provided a subtle kick that gradually built, but was never too "hot." I am not one for highly piquant foods, so that was great for me. I may be adventurous and try level 3 next time. You can ask for hot chili oil on the side if you want to start lower and add heat. They have unique beverages, as well, such as the Iced Grass Jelly tea that I thoroughly enjoyed! It didn't taste like grass at all, and I'm not sure why that was chosen for the name, but I encourage you to trust the menu and break out of your comfort zone. There are great items to explore here!

First time trying Burmese food so we didn't know what to expect. The menu felt like a combination of Indian, Thai, Chinese and Burmese food, so we picked the food from those with Burmese in the big title. I got crispy pork rice - it was confusing as it's in the Burmese curry section and the server said it's served with curry. I thought oh that's a dream come true so I just ordered it. Turned out that there's just rice and crispy pork with sweet and sour sauce. Still pretty good - not too salty or greasy, but I would have not ordered this dish in my first Burmese restaurant experience. Hubby got the Kat Kyi Kaik Kyaw and it was like a pad Thai but more moist and sticky. He finished it all and liked it. We also got the dessert dish Steamed Glutinous Rice and I like how it comes in a perfect amount of rice (three wraps) and the coconut filling is not overly sweet! My friend who got the pork curry said it was good! So I think next time I will definitely get Burmese curry. The restaurant itself is absolutely bright and cute with lots of Burmese decor. The servers are very friendly.

I have been to Ni Burmese a couple of times since they opened. I am always interested in trying new cuisines and I had not had Burmese food before. It shares elements of Thai, Chinese, and Indian food but is different from all three. I have enjoyed both my visits and look forward to exploring more of the menu. I have gotten the fried chickpea tofu as an appetizer. It's interesting--softer textured than the tofu I'm used to, lightly fried and served with a dipping sauce. I tried the kat ki kaik with prawns on my first visit--a stir fried noodle dish with shrimp and vegetables. It had plenty of shrimp and a nice balance of ingredients and textures. On my second visit I had the fried prawn curry. It was good too--a little spicy, a little acidic, a little rich. Service had a few little hiccups to be expected with a new restaurant and the menu has been rearranged slightly. The people are always attentive and friendly. I still want to try the soups, the tea leaf salad, and the falooda among other things. It's conveniently located in Bay View and I look forward to coming again.

Had to try this place while visiting to see how it compares to the Burmese food that I've experienced in the Bay Area. The classic Tea Leaf salad varied a little from what I've had in the past but it was delicious; they are my favorite types of salads by far. I took mine to go and the portion was quite small for the price. It normally comes with salad that you can mix the tea leaves in. Didn't eat in but the space was nice.

Went there on a Saturday at 11:00, when they first opened. My friend and I were the only people in the nice and clean establishment. The service was great and she took our order right away. I ordered a beer to go along with my rice, and it was nice and crisp. The rice didn't take too long to come out and neither did my friend's soup. I don't recall the name of her dish, but it was sort of like a pho. They have us chili oil on the side to add to the meals ourselves and it was spicy, so be careful how much you add unless you like spice. The food was amazing for both of us and the portion sizes were nice. It wasn't too expensive either. I know I really enjoys this spot and would definitely return to have their rice again. I would also like to try their samosas too! Great spot!

Ni Burmese is a relatively new business. The staff is so kind. I came for lunch and the restaurant was relatively empty. FOOD: I ordered the beef curry. The plating of the food is adorable. The curry has good flavors and wasn't too oily. I'm not the most familiar with Burmese food so I believe this to be a good spot.

Such an adorable place! Came as a group and they were super accommodating. We tried a variety on the menu and weren't disappointed. Our first time trying Burmese and will definitely be back! Love that you can add chili sauce or powder to add extra spice for those who would like to. Everyone was very friendly!

I fell madly in love with fermented tea leaf salad at Burma Superstar in San Francisco. Ni Burmese's version is even better. The incredible combination and complexity of textures and flavors--salty, limey, funky, tangy, and all sorts of fresh and crunchy, is off the charts! We shared the salad and a side of lightly fried (not at all greasy--air fried, maybe?) pillowy soft, warm, almost custard-like chickpea tofu, which brought a lovely balance. The iced tamarind drink was delicious and added a subtle sweetness to the meal. This place is a gem. I'm so grateful they're here. It's my new favorite MKE restaurant!

The restaurant is not particularly hard to get to without a car When I arrived there were several families eating and service was a little slow. But I wasn't in a hurry. I was thirsty so I asked for water and got a pitcher. I also had a milk tea that I liked. It was sweet but not overwhelming. I had the Burmese biryani with chicken. It was generously portioned and all the separate elements came together nicely--bone-in chicken in a curry, biryani rice, salad, and mango pickle. It's not easy finding flavors that truly taste like home, so I was excited to bring my Hispanic husband here to experience Malaysian food beyond my own cooking (which honestly doesn't do it full justice). We came during lunch and ordered the Nasi Goreng USA and it tasted exactly like home. The flavors were spot-on and incredibly comforting. While prices here may be slightly higher (which is expected when these dishes are made and sold in the US), the menu offers a great variety of Malaysian dishes that make it well worth it. The ambiance was also a pleasant surprise, it genuinely felt like being at a mamak back home. Overall, this place is a gem, and I'll definitely be recommending it to other Malaysians I know here in the States.
