    Burrata

Cute restaurant and excellent food! We started with the burrata which was delish. It could have used more toasted bread. I got the beef tenderloin for dinner, the tenderloin was cooked perfectly medium. It was topped with blue cheese which was such a good combination. The potatoes and asparagus were also delicious. The short rib was also good, very tender. It came with lots of micro greens. The risotto was very creamy yet the vegetables in it cooked perfectly and added a nice crunch. The inside is small but has character. We went to celebrate a birthday which was acknowledged by the staff but nothing special was done.

Heirloom MKE is so good I went back the following week and had the same level if not a higher level of hospitality provided throughout my visit. The first time I came I had the Reading Rainbow which was sorbet, champagne, and basil infused vodka. It was such a fun drink that I've never seen anywhere else. The second time I came I had the matador Norton which was a tequila pineapple jalapeno cocktail which I also enjoyed. For a starter I've tried the cheese curds and we have tried the hand stretched burrata. The curds had a fantastic pull to them and I enjoyed the salsa and the jalapeno ranch paired with it. Now if you get an appetizer though get the burrata it is amazing. I think what helps put it all together is the strawberry salad with pistachios and honey, and just everything they put on it. For my entree both times I went were great. I've had the Banh Mi and I think it might be one of my favorite sandwiches in Milwaukee. The second time I came I had the Porchini dusted beef tenderloin which was super tender and delicious. I tried it with the blue cheese which I normally do not like and still didn't like but the meat is good and at least I tried it the way they intended. Also hospitality here is definitely top five that I have seen in Milwaukee out of all the restaurants that I've been to so definitely make the trip if you can

The cheese in Wisconsin is no joke I took the opportunity to visit Wisconsin for a moment for the first time and this was the first spot I visited. It was one of the best last-minute plans I've had because not only did the restaurant serve cheesy-delicious food varieties, but the staff were just as wonderful! - The large portions they served the food in were worth the money and I highly recommend the crab cakes and hand stretched burrata. The burrata was the BEST burrata I've ever had so far! I can't wait to come back again some day! The braised short rib was tender (I wish there was more) and the mac & cheese was rich and semi-creamy. - The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and dim, giving a perfect environment for a date night (or a solo date like I did!) - *Hand Stretched Burrata *Crab Cake *Braised Short Rib Mac & Cheese *Rootbeer

Fab date night at Heirloom! From the minute we walked in until we left, everyone was really friendly and helpful and kind. Loved the laid back, vintage vibes. We had the crab cake, the fab cheese curds with jalapeño ranch + tomato jam, the braised short ribs over jalapeño and cheddar polenta with braised cabbage and apples (yum), and the pan-seared half chicken with roasted garlic and shallot whipped potatoes. Every bite was so, so good. Loved the NA version of the PomPom cocktail - so nice to have NA versions of almost every drink available, and a good number of NA beers, too. Can't wait to come back!

This small spaced restaurant is a nice place to visit for something slightly different. The food and service is great. We started with their cheese curds. And for the entrees, Braised Beef Short Ribs, Pan Seared Half Chicken, Braised Short Ribs Mac & Cheese, and Grilled Shrimp Polenta. All dishes were delicious, and were all the perfect portion for us. Now the Mac & Cheese you will get an even better portion size. Come check out the place and see for yourself.

Tl;dr - this place is phenomenal and needs our support! I just went out here for a super fun date night and shortly after by the next week they were featured in a local article for Milwaukee just stating that so many small medium size restaurants and smaller businesses are struggling this holiday season and they expect sales around the holidays to help them through the winter and that they're not seeing what they've seen in the past. My heart breaks for this place because the food is so good. The service was very well done and you can tell that there is heart in the cooking. The cocktails were so whimsical and fun - we tried multiple and all of the were good. The cheese curds gave some top contenders a run for their money and my pasta dish was AMAZING! We specially came here because of the vegetarian friendly menu and options to convert dishes as well and some NA cocktail specialties. I'm truly impressed by Heirloom and want to work to keep their doors open!

Do you know how excited I was to learn Heirloom MKE opened a brick and mortar (is that the turn of phrase?) restaurant? OUTRAGEOUSLY! At a brewery in Tosa where I worked for a bit, they would stop their food truck by for an evening. Always sold out. Fell in love with their food and delighted to see a number of vegetarian/vegan options. The restaurant is so cute, light filled, welcoming, and decorated with the most random, neat objects to admire. And best wallpaper. The food, of course, was amazing! The drinks were cleverly planned and presented so beautifully. I am still impressed by the curious and delicious earl grey cocktail! I had the phenomenal, and my go-to, Where's the Beet. You should definitely go. Right now but maybe check their hours. Or make a reservation. Right now!

My friends and I stopped in for an after dinner drink and some dessert. I was not drinking and they were very accommodating to make me an espresso marshmallow martini mocktail. The salted Carmel cheesecake was amazing I love the vibe it's so fun. Look close at the wallpaper for a good laugh.

I truly enjoy heirloom. Not only are there cheese curds amazing, but their mussels are so delicious. They come in such a delicate white wine broth, and the bread on the side is perfect to soak up that remaining juice! They have so many unique items on the menu, but I consistently go back to the mussels. I love that you can also sit outside during the summer months.

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Milwaukee, and I love that there is a sit down restaurant now. The restaurant is beautifully and colorfully decorated and truly matches the vibe. My husband and I wanted to go on a Friday night and we got there a little early. We were a little worried that they weren't going to have availability but luckily there was a table available! Our server ran through the delicious sounding specials, everything sounded so good and I only wish I could've had it all! We ordered the Hand Stretched Burrata, Royal Eggs, and Steamed Mussels for starters. We really should've stopped there since that was plenty, but I guess we wanted to make sure we had leftovers! We ordered the Where's the beet and Braised Short Rib Mac & Cheese for our entrees. Everything was delicious and I'm glad we had leftovers to enjoy the next day! I love that everything is locally sourced, I think it makes it tasted better! The cucumber dill sauce that came with my fries was so good! I certainly would recommend this over and over again, you cant go wrong with anything on the menu! The cocktails are fantastic and they have something for everyone! The creative flavors and decor is the cherry on top!

Highly recommend Heirloom! Great service, delicious food, and the atmosphere was so cozy.

If you're reading this, make the reservation. Easily a 10/10 meal. We started with the burrata, their specialty. It was, in a word, divine. The bread was perfectly toasted. The salad underneath the burrata changes seasonally, and the apricot, honey, and truffle oil elevated it beyond expectation. I could have had another order of this for my entrée and been set. My chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Unpretentious but perfectly executed. The potatoes and broccolini came to life with the lemon caper sauce. My husband had the mac n' cheese with short rib. The creamy mac and tender meat don't compete in flavor -- they're in a loving, happy marriage. This is what restaurant BBQ mac should be. I'm not usually a crème brûlée person, or at least, I thought I wasn't. I let my husband pick the dessert, and it did not disappoint. Perfectly creamy and flavorful. This is the experience you want when you decide you're ordering a dessert. The service was top-notch. The alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks were all delightful. Heirloom MKE delivered one of my favorite dinners to date.

Heirloom is amazing!! It is a farm table restaurant that uses ingredients right from the community which, as a dietitian, I love! Went with friends and made a reservation mid-week (*they do require putting down $10 per person ahead of time which does go towards your bill). The restaurant gives very warm and "homie" vibes and the wait staff was super kind to us (s/o to Darby our waitress!). Their cocktails are incredible and use some unique ingredients- if you like lavender/coffee, try the lavender Smith cocktail! The "so fresh so clean" cocktail is perfect for summer time! I felt like they had a little something for everyone. The pricing is pretty average for MKE area in my opinion. I tried the pan seared chicken for dinner which came with broccolini and whipped mashed- it was incredible! Tasted like a real home-cooked meal but fancier lol. Everything we tried was so tasty and I cannot wait to go back! They are famous for their burrata which is next on my list to try. Definitely recommend checking out Heirloom for a fresh, vibrant experience using local ingredients!

I had heard about the Tin Widow's holiday pop up being one of the best area, the hype was not wrong. From the entrance to the ceiling and walks, this place is the definition of deck the halls. Unless you get here right when they open it early in the holiday season, I would expect a crowd. The drink menu is so fun with holiday themed drinks served in matching glassware. You can even purchase the glass/mug for an additional fee. A lot of the cocktails looked to be batched cocktails which help with the bartender's efficiency. They had several seasonal cocktails in special festive cups, which you could also buy to take home. I got the Cheery Cherry Chocosaurus, which was good, but pricey for what it was. Almost all the seasonal drinks were $15 each and didn't seem too big. The venue itself is medium sized, but feels crammed quickly. There's more people let in at a time than there is seating, so you have to move fast to get a seat. I'll likely come back during the summer to try something else.

They vary the featured cocktails menu every 8 weeks, so most likely you'll get a different experience every time you go. We stopped here after dinner, so we stuck mostly with the cocktails. Unfortunately, nothing on the seasonal menu really stuck out to me. I stuck with the "traditional" cocktails (spicy watermelon bubblegum, and then banana daiquiri). Hubs went for the halo halo food (which was so cute! All the typical ingredients but served in cubist fashion), and the paired drink. The paired drink was supposed to have different layers of flavor, but they all mixed together quite a bit. Tasty, just not the "layered" experience we thought. I think they almost do themselves a disservice comparing themselves to the aviary - that is a crazy high bar to meet. Granted, maybe we would have been more impressed if we had more of the seasonal cocktails despite them not seeming interesting? Probably wouldnt go out of my way to go here again, but it is a cool vibe and the cocktails were good.
