Stopped in with wife and daughter. I had the Lamb chops w yams and collard greens(greens flavored with smoked turkey chunks). Wife had fried pork chops w greens, Mac and yams. Daughter had shrimp Alfredo. All plates were exceptional in flavor. My lamb chops seems to be cooked on a charcoal or wood grill and were seared perfectly, juicy, tender and DELICIOUS. Collard greens were fantastic and had a big chunk of smoked turkey in it. The yams were tender and sweet. Maybe a little too sweet but still edible. The wife's pork chops must've been good cuz she refused to share w me and my daughter devoured her shrimp Alfredo. read more

Wow. Delicious Jerk Chicken Alfredo. One of the most authentic Jerk I've had, certainly the best since moving to Rockford. Staff was friendly and attentive. Would easily be a five star dinner... if not for the $$$ prices, the 20% service charge (there were only two of us) and a 3% credit card charge. This is NOT a high end restaurant but being kittycorner from Embassy Suites, it could be convention pricing? Take another half star for pushing four-tops against a wall and still trying to put four chairs at it, another half star for seating us at a (no excuse for having) wobbly table. If money is no object and you want some great food i have to recommend this place. I'll round up my rating and hope it's still open when i can afford to return. read more

It was hands down the best southern cooking in the area. Finally a soul food place in Rockford! And not just any soul food restaurant, this is by far the best I've had in a long time! The environment was a whole vibe. The staff was friendly and amazing! Our bartender was attentive and very helpful with the menu. Her drinks were delicious and definitely worth the price! The owner and chef actually came out and said hello. The Mac and cheese was not out of a box or powdered cheese! Oh my god was it great. I can go on about this place, will be here everyday just to get a taste of home! Food was AMAZING! Let me start off by saying i don't even live in rockford, my friend recommended this place and i was not disappointed. The chef did an outstanding job on the food. The customer service was stellar, the wait time for the food was fairly quick. The music was great, i liked that the mainstream songs was a saxophone instrumental. The only con is the pricing, i wish they were a little cheaper, but it's called ambiance.. one can assume this is a pricey restaurant. Me and my friends loved this place, we will be back! read more

No matter what, visit Ambiance! I went for the grand opening on 4/8/23 and was blown away! I loved the decor and tables and the overall ambiance. The servers were sweet and although it was a busy day, they all reminded very attentive to the customers. The food was delicious! This day, a sample platter was offered with the fish slider, jerk chicken, shrimp dip, dirty rice and Mac and cheese. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. I also had the banana pudding and it was so good that I ate two of them. LOL Lastly the beverages were great as well.
