The food is absolutely amazing, sure you could probably get "better" smoked meats elsewhere but for a quick service food chain. You can't beat it. Workers are always nice and the store is always maintained and clean.

Delicious as always! Love the theme; the friendliness and efficiency! Never had anything but a wonderful meal here!

We absolutely loved our experience here! My nephew really wanted ribs, and after seeing a local place that we just didn't feel that great about, we headed here. We walked in the door, were immediately welcome, and then proceeded to order one of the best bbq meals I've ever had! He loved his ribs and how tender they were. I loved my brisket (and loved that I could order it "lean"), and our sides were delicious! They came around and checked on us, and even brought us little strawberry shortcake samples, as well as some pulled pork samples. On top of that, the manager came out to say hello, seeing as it was our first time, and they cleared our plates and just took such good care of us! My nephew wanted to make sure I mentioned how great the service was when I wrote the review :).

Their special smoked prime rib. The size of that is a joke.

It's worth the drive, as we went to Belvidere from Crystal Lake to try this place out. This is a seasonal restaurant and it was opening weekend. We waited a long winter to try it out! It's located in the middle of nowhere where and definitely gives off country vibes... which is great! Once inside you place you order and pay and find a table to sit inside a large barn turned restaurant. They give you a buzzer, but someone will bring the food to your table. In the warmer months, they provide outdoor seating which is inviting. I opted for the pulled pork sandwich, baked sweet potato and their mac n cheese. I also tried a slice of their cherry pie. The pulled pork came in a generous portion, moist and flavorful. I enjoyed their original BBQ sauce that they also make in house. The sweet potato was good with the butter and brown sugar. Unfortunately, I would not get the Mac n cheese again, not impressed by it. Basically, overcooked noodles, lackluster cheese sauce and already chilled from being placed in a container to serve. My husband had the brisket sandwich and unfortunately said it was a bit over cooked and dry. I shared my pork sandwich with him and he obviously agreed with me that it was very good. We will return for the pork and we want to try their BBQ ribs next time too. Oh! The cherry pie is also made in house and it was pretty good also! Definitely deserving of 4 stars, we will be back!

To me, their brisket is the star of the show, but their ribs and roasted chicken are fantastic too, as well as their other meat choices. Most meals come with 1 or 2 sides, and they give you a bunch of options for those, so anyone can find something they're craving. We get takeout a lot, but when we do eat there we love the ambience of the place, makes you feel like you're not in Rockford anymore but somewhere down south. The servers have always been nice and helpful, too. Surprised by some of the low reviews of this place, I personally don't think they're warranted. Check it out for yourself and see!

We had the Baby back ribs plus two meat platter. We actually added a third meat for $4 more. Besides the baby backs, we had brisket, chopped pork, and burnt ends. All of the meats were fantastic! For sides we had the Wilbur Beans and red skin mashed potatoes, along with the pickled onions and hell fire pickles. We love them all. I love going into Dave's and walking around the restaurant looking at all of the cool vintage signs and pictures hanging on the walls. The pictures of Dave in front of all the old historic bbq joints all over the country are really cool too. Stop in at Famous Dave's in Rockford and have a great meal like we did.

I got this off of grub dash or whatever delivery service it's called. I really wanted barbecue, but I didn't expect to get mostly unpalatable, stringy meat substances. Before you guys read this & judge me, I do a LOT of smoking. I have some stuff I've smoked, in my profile. I have Backwoods Lil Chubby G2 competition reverse flow water smoker, smoked tons of meat and have been in competitions, so I know my stuff. This isn't my stuff. I ordered the three meat combo, with brisket, pulled pork and chicken. I'm not too sure where the brisket is? Was it that stringy beef meat stuff? I couldn't tell the difference between that or what the pork was supposed to be. The chicken is obvious, and while we're on the topic, the chicken is the only thing that had a distinguished flavor of smoke. As far as the other 2 meats, other than a hint of smoke, bland and flavorless. Meat portion size is insulting. I basically paid $30 for five sides and cornbread. Cornbread is actually really good. The highlight of the whole meal, and the only thing that I actually finished. I can't wholeheartedly say that the mac and cheese is made in house, nor the pasta or potato salad or beans for that matter, but I could be wrong (but I'm pretty sure I'm not, seeing the caliber of this food). I was reserving one star, out of consideration for this place, in case the brisket wasn't as tender as it should be, seeing how I had this delivered 11 miles away, but then again, I don't even know where the brisket was. If you're shredding or chopping your brisket (who does that!?), you need to close your doors, because it's obvious that you don't know how to smoke brisket. Brisket is meant to be sliced, not masked by chopping or shredding, then thrown in a steamer tray. I ate about half of it, and tossed the rest out. Headed to Denny's for another lackluster supper. Obviously the people on here raving about how good this place is, haven't had barbecue outside of famous Dave's, Dickies or some other low end franchise. Very disappointed, and waste of money. We started with the Gogi Mandu, which were adorable, but insanely tiny. You can barely fit any filling into it with the size they make it, which is not accepted when they were essentially $1/each. The dipping sauce wasn't tasty either. My guy had the Bibimbap, which was average. They gave small amounts of the veggies and I didn't find it to have much flavor, but my guy enjoyed it. I got Japchae, which is one of my fave Korean dishes. My dish was actually room temp on the right half and piping hot with drier bulgogi on the left half. I ended up sending it back since it had clearly been sitting partially under a heat lamp for a while. They were very nice about the whole ordeal and the manager even came up to apologize, which wasn't necessary, but appreciated. My second Japchae definitely came out hot, but there was a big inconsistency between the amounts that came in the two dishes. The first had a lot more egg and bulgogi with a small amount of veggies. The second was the opposite for each. Pretty weird. I honestly really enjoyed the flavor of my dish and would get it again. They didn't overdue it with the sauce, which is always important for me. However, if this was a place I regularly frequented, I wouldn't be happy with how different the dishes can be.
