Fried bacon

Went on a Friday evening and sat at the bar! Full service bar. We had a wonderful meal, very delicious and everyone was very friendly & kind! Deep fried bacon gave off state "fair food" vibes but was yummy. Very nice spot if you are in the area I would recommend it!

We arrived after driving almost 9 hours, and were hungry, thirsty and hungry. If you know what I mean?! Our server Tammy S. made everything easy peasy. We ordered a Pretzel Amber Ale from Generations Brewery, Freeport ILL and an Anti Hero IPA from Revolutionary Brewery, Chicago. Both beers were excellent choices for the Coconut Shrimp Appetizer and the Fish & Chips. The ambiance of this local restaurant is nice but Tammy and great food were the sunshine in our rainy travel day.

Came in for lunch with 8 people and was pleasantly surprised that we were done in an hour. Service was friendly and the food came out pretty quick. Everything tasted fresh. I got the soup of the day which was a cream of potato soup. It was pretty tasty and I liked the addition of mushrooms. My husband got the steak sandwich and I had a bite of it and it was also very good. The steak pieces were huge and tender. The bread was soft but the outside had a nice light crunch to it. It came with some thick cut fries and a pickle. I think that dish was around $20 or under and for that I thought it was a really good deal given the quality and quantity of the steak. Would recommend. I also noticed they have a few slot machines near the front in a small room. And if you need the free wifi, the password is coldbeer.

Our first time here. We were here at lunch today. Heard good reviews. Waitress was nice and checked on us several times. But again we were the only customer until we left. Water was refilled frequently. We tried the scallop appetizer. Humongous scallop. Very tender. Seafood bisques comes with our entree were good. You actually see huge salmon chunks. Comes with crackers. Red snapper with risotto. Husband loves it. Risotto actually was good too. Then comes the ribeye I hear so much about. Tender it was Not. I ordered Medium. It was about well done. This was super disappointing to me. I came here for the steak. Photo attached. The side grilled veggies were delicious. Crème brûlée. Top was toasted like it should be but ok, why was the inside liquid? It was not set yet.

Had 2 burgers for dinner tonight. We couldn't finish either one of them because the meat was so salty. If you are coming here for a burger, turn around. Anywhere else is better.

I absolutely love this place I stop every time I go through Illinois for the past 5 years! The people are great and the atmosphere is so nice especially in the summer on their patio! I would definitely recommend

We were staying nearby and this place came up with the highest ratings around. Given all of the chains and spots with mediocre scores it wasn't a tough decision. It was pretty quiet on a Monday night. We were seated quickly in a booth. Our waitress Amy was super friendly and very efficient. After I ordered a beer we placed our orders. I was tempted to order the deep fried bacon but I refrained and got the chicken parm on linguini with a (very) small side salad. I would have preferred a thinner noodle but this was it. The dish was very good. My wife got the spinach salad with a piece of salmon on it and hot bacon dressing. She requested medium rare and it was medium rare. The food was solid, the prices a tad high and the service excellent.

Fun casual restaurant with variety of food to satisfy tastes of everyone in your party. They have steak, seafood, pasta, burgers, flatbread among other choices. CREATIVE DRINKS! It's early Fall and their drink special was Apple Butter Old Fashioned. Never heard of such a thing but sounded perfectly delicious. It showcases apple cider and apple butter from local Edwards Apple Orchard. I liked the drink, which was dead perfect for fall. The apple butter not only added apple flavor but some of that apple butter spice! It was a little in the sweet side (but not cloying) which may be perfect for some, however I would have preferred slightly less sweetness or perhaps less apple cider/butter. FLATBREAD - This looked really good with tons of cheese. I didn't taste it, but drooled over coworker's plate. BLACKENED CHICKEN CARBONARA - This was good. It was not clear if the chicken comes blackened by default but this is how I asked for it to be prepared and I would recommend it this way! Chicken was a little salty. The carbonara was served as bow tie pasta. Normally the creamy sauce is a bit thicker and I found this to be a bit too thin/runny.

My meal also came with a side salad that was very good as I liked the addition of shredded beets! He ordered seafood linguine and the seafood was so yummy. The linguine itself was just mediocre. He also upgraded to the lobster bisque and it was good but definitely didn't taste homemade. We had eaten so much we didn't have room for dessert. The service was good, our server was kind and friendly and checked back a few times. The server assistants were absolutely amazing with keeping waters full and plates cleared. I don't like sitting at the tables here so when I made the reservation I requested a booth. We arrived and they took us to a table. I again asked for a booth and luckily there was something available. The booths here offer warmth and comfort while the table seats are cold and unpleasant. Overall a nice visit and enjoyable evening.

The service was amazing, but we forgot the name of the server. She was helpful, gave recommendations and assisted in decisions between items. We ordered an appetizer of shrimp and it was AMAZING! The best part of the restaurant is the draft wall. You can choose from multiple types of beer, mixed drinks, or straight liquor for mixing yourself. It added fun to the experience pouring your own beverages. The bar is very spacious and allows for multiple seating scenarios from high tops to regular chairs, to couches. Such an amazing experience…read more Starting off with the restaurant itself, such a beautifully curated spot that is unlike anything rockford has to offer. Every detail a work of art. We really enjoy the bar area and its ambiance but hope to also experience the dining room as well. We started off with the Dip of the day which was a Miso Ranch dip served with fresh made tortilla chips. This was phenomenal and my only complaint is there wasn't more! We also both ordered a drink off of their happy hour menu. I ordered the old Fashioned and my wife ordered their margarita. Both were excellent. I also ordered the VIEUX CARRÉ based on our Server's recommendation and thoroughly enjoyed that. Such knowledgeable staff makes a big difference. For our main course, I got their Mushroom Pot Pie and my wife ordered the Ora King Salmon. Both dishes blew us away. Neither of us expected to be so full after our meals, their serving sizes were very generous! I wanted to highlight the mushroom pot pie, as a vegetarian, Fine dining usually does not cater to vegetarians. So having options at a place this nice was such a welcomed surprise. The greens included with the Pot Pie really stole the show, The most perfectly cooked and seasoned greens I have ever had. Chef Nick Risseeuw came over and checked on how we were doing and after hearing me rave about his pot pie offered two of his desserts on the house. We got a pistachio orange dessert and a Malt ball ice cream that was his interpretation of whopper candy as an ice cream. Both were DIVINE! Thank you again Nick for your generosity, it was a perfect way to end a perfect meal. I also wanted to highlight the staff as they played an essential role in our unbelievable experience. Everyone was so friendly, attentive, and prompt. We will definitely return soon and cannot wait to see what is in store for their upcoming menu

Small filet mignon 26 bucks, giant sirloin 20 bucks. This includes a great salad and a side, like a loaded baked potato. The steak has incredible taste. Somebody knows what they are doing. I told our server how incredible the food was, and that I felt guilty loving it so much because I always try and support local businesses...... I asked her if the tips were really good because the food was so great and she said actually she gets stiffed every night by some people and how it drives some of new servers to tears at the end of the shift. On big tables when she gets stiffed, it actually costs her money to serve them because they automatically take 4% of her checks' totals based on sales for the other employees. Very depressing. I gave her 40% to make up for the losers that stiffed her. Help the servers out here when you eat, it's such a great deal you can afford to.... Super friendly atmosphere.
