Finally tried this place Complimentary bread was warm & very good. Dish of whipped butter would be better than lil packaged plastic butters. Cheddar broccoli soup was very good with the bread dunked in it. Salads were fine, they could add a crouton, but tomato was good & I really liked their French dressing. I had the seafood diavolo which was a little spicy but not that great. It had 3 large scallops that were delicious but I didn't really like their sauce. Shrimp were large but tough. My portion was smallish with not much pasta. Load up the inexpensive pasta please. Wife & 1 son had seafood Alfredo & they both liked it. Other Son ordered penne with Alfredo & added a meatball ( which wasn't that big for $4). He liked his All 3 other pasta dishes were a larger portion than mine. Been here a few times with some friends now! Service has always been solid, although it is pretty popular so on some busy nights you will have a wait if you don't have a reservation. Food wise I've liked basically everything I've got off the menu. This time I had the lasagna which was pretty good! Haven't really delved into the dessert as I've been too full usually but I did have a few bites of the tiramisu last time and my friends and I all enjoyed! First time here. Brought my oldest and two of the littles. Started off with the cheese breadsticks. Delish!!! Perfectly crisp on the outside with gooey mozzarella on the inside. Plenty of options for the littles. One had the chicken Alfredo and the other had a mini pizza. It was legit all gone!! I had the lasagna. Sauce was not too sweet and seasoned well. Ordered a couple of pizzas while heading home from work in downtown Chicago on a Friday evening -- an easy dinner plan to meet my family at the park as they enjoyed the fall weather before winter sets in. The good: The pizza itself was pretty good. The bad: The melted cheese stuck to the box, peeling up cardboard that ended up on our slices about 20 minutes later when we sat down to eat. The disappointing: With a $36 pizza order -- not an unreasonable price for two pizzas -- I asked for a few paper plates so my kids could eat comfortably at the park. After a brief discussion between the cashier and (what I assume was) the manager, I was told paper plates cost 25 cents each. I explained it was our first visit and that we were just hoping to enjoy a simple picnic dinner with our kids at the park. For context, a heavy-duty paper plate bought in bulk costs about 4 cents. Four plates would have cost the restaurant roughly 16 cents -- yet that small gesture could have turned us into repeat customers. Instead, being asked to pay $1 for plates after spending $36 on pizza left a sour impression. It's not about the money -- it's the principle. That small moment of inflexibility turned what could have been a great first experience into a disappointing one and ruined a potential repeat customer experience. read more

While I'm town for my little sisters homecoming, we stopped by here to get dinner as it's always been a family favorite growing up and it still is! Service: the hostesses and servers were fantastic the entire time! They were very accommodating for a larger group along with the pickiness of some of my siblings! Food: the food was amazing as always! Their house salad is probably my favorite thing here, as it's perfectly dressed through and through! Not only that, but the mushroom raviolis were fantastic and tasted so so fresh. Everyone at the table was swooned by their food and enjoyed every last bit of it! The eggplant parm portion was huge, but the flavor was nothing special and the penne was overcooked, chewy and luke warm. The chicken parm sandwich (maybe 4-5 inches) with fries was just okay too, but again nothing that justified the price. Guess the high cost covers the fine decor and extra wait staff. The breadsticks were perfectly hot with meaty cheese buttered to perfection with the right amount of cheese sprinkled over them. The lasagna tasted better than it looked. Definitely try the Shrimp Dejonge ..I loved it...garlic, butter and wine with lightly crispy bread crumbs. Delicious. My favorite dish. We also had the Bruschetta..lots of garlic... flavorful...bread not toasted but I did enjoy. Minestrone was good. I enjoyed Tour of Italy ..they do an excellent job with their fettuccini... the Lasagna and Chicken Parm were good ...we ate so much I could only do one bite of each of the Tour offerings..lots of leftovers. My love have Penne and Meatball ...enjoyed ...offered but We ordered way too much to eat. Would go back again...which is difficult with so many choices in Rockford to choose from. read more

Great dinner with attentive waitstaff which seems rare nowadays. My husband had the Tour of Italy with a salad. The portion size is almost too much and did not finish but he took it home for later.
