Was in town for work and someone recommended this place when I mentioned Asian food. Since I am a big fan of pho, I decided to give it a try. Location is small, but nice and clean. Servers were very attentive and friendly. I had an order of egg rolls and the Rock Pho Special pho. The egg rolls were freshly made and cooked..and they were excellent. The sweet and sour sauce wasn't the standard syrup you get at many Asian places but was deep red and very tasty. The pho came out extremely hot and absolutely loaded with meat. Broth flavor was excellent and all the meat was great. Definitely highly recommended!! read more

Food was very fresh and tasty. I had the chicken pho and my husband had the drunken noodles with chicken. Both were amazing and reasonably priced. The waitress was very friendly and helpful with explaining the menu since it was our first time. The place is very cute. read more

Rock-Pho'd - Chicken pho and drunken chicken - Asian Fusion Near Me - Rockford, Illinois

We'd heard about this restaurant from our friends. Asian fusion. It's quite popular. The restaurant was full on a weekday evening (there was a big party). We had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. There's a little bench to sit on while waiting. The doorway becomes crowded with people either waiting or coming in to pick up orders. The servers were great- very friendly and on top of things. We had the chicken pho- which was good sized and tasty. The Spicy Thai Basil was also good. Although there might be some spiciness in the sauce, it really wasn't noticeable. I'd recommend keeping some jalapeños in the mix or on the side for a little more spiciness. read more

Great good, good portions, and nice staff! My favorite is the dragon fried rice, chicken wings, and ladnar. Staff are friendly and clean restaurant. Give lao food a try! read more

We had a GREAT meal! This was my first time there, and will definitely be back. They were busy on Saturday night, but we were greeted with a friendly hello right away! They quickly got a booth ready for us. The atmosphere was relaxed and noise level minimal to allow for good conversation. We ordered the pot stickers which were served hot and fresh with a delicious dipping sauce! I ordered the pad Thai which was absolutely delicious! It was piping hot with fresh bean sprouts and a wedge of lime, chopped peanuts and cilantro. I loved every bite! My significant other had the Tom Yung Goong soup with shrimp. It was hot and fresh, with excellent flavors of ginger and lemongrass. It had plenty of shrimp and rice on the side. read more

Once upon a time, my sister brought me here to try the Khao Piak, which is only served on Saturdays and Sundays. For the next eight weekends after that first encounter with this soup, you could find my fat ass parked in one of the booths, ordering exactly that. Also, why are the crab rangoons so good? I'll admit I don't care for their potstickers, but that's totally forgivable considering their soup would be on my list for a last meal if I were on death row. read more

Certainly there's plenty of Asian restaurants in Rockford but there's not a lot of options for pho around here. In this shopping center on Riverside is one. Rock-Pho'd actually has a pretty good variety. More than pho to get. There's also noodles, rice, and other stuff. At lunch here recently it was busy. It's certainly a popular place. There wasn't that long of a wait to get seated. Probably the pho is the most popular choice. There's none of that for vegetarians to get though. Instead we got a couple of the noodle choices. It's about $12 for these. Plenty of good ones and these were big too. I had the Kua Mee. This is Laotian style stir fried rice noodles with bean sprouts, cilantro, eggs which I left off, and green onions. Good spice but not too hot. This also comes with a protein choice, and I got the tofu. Get a good variety of Asian food. It has Thai and more. There's plenty of choices for vegans and vegetarians. read more

We followed the Yelp reviews to this cozy Asian fusion/pho/Thai restaurant in Rockford -- and so glad we did! Outstanding restaurant with great service! We started with pot stickers - delicious! No photo because it was devoured too fast. Hubs and I split the Panang Curry with rice. It had a kick and was so tasty! Not a drop left. Daughter had the Pho Soup: chicken, with basil, bean sprouts and seasoned up at the table with hoisin sauce and chili oil. Our server was very pleasant, which we appreciated since we raced in toward the end of their open hours. Food was delivered in good time. We were only passing through town but if we were local Rockfordians, we would be regulars here for sure. It's in a small strip mall with plenty of parking. read more

Everything we have had there is great with wonderful flavor and ample portions. We always enjoy going there

Located in a strip mall with ample parking. The server was a little swamped however did a good job given the circumstances. The menu has a good mix of pho, Thai entrees, and some Chinese entrees. The beef pho had a good portion of flank. The pad see ew had homemade bbq pork and was very good. Overall, great food and experience. read more

Everything was wonderful, bounty of fresh vegetables, the beef was very tender. My new place. You can take a bottle of wine in and they're right there with a nice wine glass for your meal. Service was excellent. read more

We love the food here. Would say it's the best Thai in town. However, my husband and I took our three young children (7, 5, and 2). We ordered three meals and shared them between us becuase they don't have a kids meal. They then charged us a group gratuity rate of 18% for having 5 people. The service was so slow this visit as well. Charging a group gratuity for our young/ small family seems wrong. read more

Always excellent. One of the best in Rockford. We love the soups. Dragon fried rice also terrific.

You should reconsider your policy regarding dogs. One small dog sitting quietly on the owner's lap in a corner would not have disturbed anyone, especially considering that the dining room was empty at the time. My husband and I were unable to sit down and enjoy a meal together, even though we drove across the entire city specifically for your soup. The soup itself was tasty. read more

The food and service is great. It's a small sit in restaurant so I order take out. The food is popular and the restaurant inundated with orders to the point that they've told me they are no longer taking orders for the night! I'm still giving them all the stars! I can't blame them for having yummy food and being popular. read more

We live in the West suburbs of Chicago.. My son lives in Madison WI. We decided to meet for dinner here as it was halfway. It also had great reviews... And I can see why. The value was AMAZING. The servings are quite generous. The customer service was awesome. Shout out to David... Probably one of the sweetest servers I have ever encountered. The food was all flavorful and delicious. Here is what we ordered... Spring rolls and pot stickers for appetizers. Shrimp Pad Thai, Beef Pad See Ew, Panang Curry Chicken, Beef Pho and Laotian savory sausages. The sausages were our favorite. For dessert we had the mango sticky rice. I've had this dessert in many restaurants; here they elevated the dish by adding a coconut cream and puffed rice. So good I would recommend all the dishes. David, our server, was professional, attentive, and very sweet. It was my birthday and thanks to him... The dinner was perfect. Other: nice decor, smaller tables, ample parking (strip mall), clean bathrooms. read more

Just had the most delicious Pad Siew. Full of fresh veggies and succulent bbq pork. So much food I needed a box of definitely recommend.

Delicious. Ordered the garden delight with tofu and it was wonderful. Nice amount of tofu and a variety of vegetables. Also ordered the panang curry and it was a suppose to be mild but it was bit spicy. Think there were too many onions in the dish and it could have had more vegetables. Tasty but will order a different next time. Interior of restaurant is cute and inviting. read more

I've been to Rock-Pho'd about six times now, and the food is phenomenal. It comes out really hot, and the veggies are a bit crisp. The decor and lighting is comforting. They play Mark Wiens' YouTube channel on the TV which is wildly appropriate. Today my server, Kayla greeted me as soon as I walked in. She seated me and took my order after a minute or two. That probably sounds trivial to mention, but it's the first time the service wasn't complete crap. Once, I was seated and never got a menu or service so I left after 20 minutes. Another time a lady that was seated at the table next to me was the fourth person to come in after me, and she was done eating before I got a menu. Kudos to Kayla. She was very friendly, and was tipped extremely well. Drunken noodles pictured below were out of this world delicious! read more

Quick and tasty! Love the steamed veggie add-on. Pad see ew was solid! Enjoyed it with a thai tea.

Stopped by for a quick bite and ordered a simple chicken friend rice to dine in. The dish came out in a plentiful serving and I was impressed with the flavor and fresh ingredients. I will be back to try more of the menu items when I'm in the area. Thank you for your great service as well. read more

This place never disappoints!!! I had the panang curry and it felt like a nice warm hug... same as the pho... the spring rolls rock as do the crab rangoon!! (My only complaint is I wish they sold them in even numbers so I don't have to fight with my boyfriend over the last one!) The service is excellent! Servers are friendly everyone time we go there. They have been busting their butts some nights and they always have a smile on the faces and they don't let you know if they're not having a good night. The space it good sized and the decor is cute! Thank you for being awesome!! read more

Their Laab was decent with lots of lime and cilantro but the meat was a tad chewy and my sticky rice was cold even though it was served to me in a container solely designed for the purpose to keep the rice warm. It wasn't a bad meal on any account but it didn't blow me away. I also asked for the hottest amount of spice and it wasn't very hot. The green papaya salad however had much too much fish sauce/shrimp paste and tasted too much like stinky socks... and I love fish sauce. We asked for this one to be medium heat and my poor mother couldn't eat more than a bite, there were so many birds eye chilis. Maybe they mixed my entree up with the appetizer but it made it very difficult to share. All in all I am not sure I'll rush back but I also wouldn't tell people I didn't like the place. read more

Funny name, but it perfectly fits Rock fahd. What the Fah? It's Rock-Pho'd. Really good crab rangoons with more fried parts than most places. Pot stickers were too much fried area for me. So up and down with the starter plates. This place does have great curry panang. Very flavorful but not enough rice to eat it with, which is one of the 1st times I've never gotten enough white rice! Dragon fried rice wasn't that great, and the pho was average to me. It's near alot of restaurants also. read more

Finally a local spot that has amazing southeast asian cuisine! I have been here several times already. I have tried the Rock Pho's Special pho, chicken wings, crab rangoon, spring rolls, papaya salad, beef jerky, lao sausage, pad thai, drunken noodles, panang curry. I have not been disappointed in any dish I have ordered there so far. Staff is very friendly and polite. Cute spot with amazing food. read more

What a fantastic pun ahahah, this takes the cake for pho puns, sounds like a British guy tryna say Rockford. Anyways that's the only reason I went to this restaurant but the food was fantastic and very cheap as well might I add. I got spring rolls, the Laotian pork jerky, and the mango sticky rice. Spring rolls were tasty but average, not sure how a restaurant can elevate this dish to battle stand out against others. I really enjoyed the jerky, very flavorful by itself. Little spicy, sweet and lots of umami. It did not need the sauce but the sauce just added to the savoriness. Not sure what the sauce was, I think it was fish sauce based but reminded me of salsa, either way it was delicious. I do want to warn people that it is a jerky so don't expect it to melt in your mouth, that isn't the concept of the dish. Lastly was the mango sticky rice, only issue was it was packages upside down the the Togo box so the sauce leaked everywhere. Besides that issue, it was great! I wish they had more mango as I ran out of mango to pair it with halfway through the rice but they give you an insane amount. You can get full just eating that. This my first time with this dessert I kept hearing about and I'd knew I'd love it. The consistency of sticky rice was almost like mochi and the sauce was coconut based I think or maybe condensed milk. The mango freshness cut through all the sweetness to provide a perfect harmony. Big fan, definitely a solid place that I recommend! read more

Found this place on accident. Wanted to go to the Cajun place down the street but they were closed. And boy am I lucky. Start to finish the food was fantastic. The rice was so good. Lots of meat, no skimping here. Portion sizes are borderline obnoxious. The flavors of the veggies, rice, meats was pure perfection. The star of the show is that mango sticky rice though. Wow. It's what I've been looking for since moving from NC. Service was good but not outstanding. With food this good they could've served it on cardboard box and I'd have been alright with it. read more
