OK!!! I found this little gem by accident when I was in Madison. Let me tell you that I was blown away! This place reminds me of Chipotle but salad style! I was so torn between the different options! Everything was so clean on the inside and all of the food was so fresh! Definitely a modern place! I finally decided on the buffalo chicken bowl called Bold & Buffalo. It has brown rice, arugula, buffalo chicken, carrots, radicchio, white cheddar, roasted cauliflower, croutons**, & ranch dressing. It was definitely a party in my mouth and my soul was happy! It's nice to have an option for fresh and healthy food in the area. I was debating between a 3 and 4 star review, and that fact is what pushed me over to the 4 stars. I came here with a small group and we went in to order at staggered times since we sat outside with some of our pups. It wasn't crazy busy or crowded, but it took forever to get our food. At one point we were worried something happened and felt like maybe we should go check on the people ordering inside. I ordered the Wild Child bowl, and while it was good, the flavoring was overall just kinda bland -- not bad, just bland. I still happily ate it all, but there are other options in the area with similar food concepts and I might go there instead given the option. I had this catered for a lunch meeting. I wasn't sure how the smoothies would hold up in delivery, but it was on time and as it should be. The Seoul Bowl was really tasty--everything seemed fresh and the gochujang/cashew sauce combo was delicious. Love that it's clearly labeled as vegan too. I also had the Blue Boost smoothie. Despite its beautiful, vibrant color, it was pretty bland. I could mostly taste the toasted coconut but even that was faint. I was expecting to taste more pineapple or banana. 2 of my coworkers who also ordered smoothies expressed a similar sentiment. Management has changed here, service quality has gone downhill. Only two people ordering food and it took 20+ minutes for a smoothie order? Ending up leaving with no smoothie. Hopefully things change there, used to be a decent spot to enjoy. Called the manager and she fought me about coming back for a credit or a new smoothie potentially being made. I should have asked for a refund right then and there while on site but frankly didn't want to deal with a continuation of what was already a very poor experience. read more

This was recommend by a friend . We ended up going to the one in Brookfield I believe they just recently opened. My daughter and I both got the cashew bowl. Workers were all friendly. We both loved the bowl but felt it's a bit over priced for a half full bowl. Leaving us both hungry after we ate . They offered bread that we enjoyed but there was no butter which we both felt should be an option. the food is delicious and reasonably priced for healthy food. the first time i went it was a great experience, they made it in front of me, measured everything out and were kind. however the second time i went, i got the seasonal wild child. the person making my food was making another order while making mine and going so fast he didn't measure out any ingredients and grabbed the cold ingredients by hand. i like that the calories are provided but how he made it i couldn't rely on that anymore. i dont think i saw him mix it with dressing so i asked and he went so fast he didn't remember either which he said AFTER he doused the salad again with dressing. 15 bucks for a goopy salad with 3 times more rice than lettuce...so not super sure ill be back. read more

The salad bowl game is coming in strong in Madison. From Forage Kitchen to Sweet Green, now to Crisp and Green - the competition is on. This place is clean, quick, efficient, and friendly. The menu is straight forward, but I'll be honest, pricy. That being said, it's not surprising all these salad bowl places are. But, that is why they need to figure out what makes them stand out. I will say that Crisp and Green is still figuring themselves out. I got one of their salad bowls and ate in. The portions are good. You'll definitely leave full, but there wasn't anything exemplary about it. I also got a drink and a cookie. Cookie was fine, nothing special, and the drinks were...weird. They list them as agua frescas, but they were off. I didn't particularly like them and would stick to water instead . Overall, if you're looking for something healthy, it's a decent spot, but I'd rather drive over to Forage. read more

I went to Crisp & Green when they were a new business in Madison and placed an order for about a dozen salads which was a fairly large order for a new business. Two people in my group ordered Fiesta Salads and they were astonished at how hot the Jalapeño peppers in their salads were, saying that they made the salads basically inedible. They asked me to call the restaurant ad ask them to warn people that the Fiesta Bowls are really hot. I called the next day but didn't get an answer so I left a message requesting a callback. When nobody called back after several hours I called again and got somebody who was really unhelpful. He said that if their Jalapeños are too hot that people just shouldn't order those salads but they have no responsibility to warn anyone. I wasn't particularly impressed by my Teriyaki salad either so I highly recommend that folks steer clear of this place. (Sorry, Yelp doesn't allot zero star ratings). read more

I have been there 3 times in as many weeks. It is now my #1 choice for a fast healthy lunch. I have tried the Fiesta salad, Seoul bowl and the Thai salad (it has a catchy name but I can't remember it) Each one has surprised me with how fresh and delicious it is. And they are big! There were at least a dozen shrimps on my Thai salad. Plenty of parking though the first time I missed the entrance from Mineral Point bc you have to pretend you're going to Chipotle.
