Placed a pickup order prior to business opening for pickup at 8am, when business opened. Arrived at the store to find out it wasn't open and phones were not online with no way to contact anyone. Waited 30 minutes, contacted the other (open) location, and received no answer. Left the store with no bowls, no way to cancel my paid order, and no way to contact anyone. Received a text message from the owner offering to cancel the order, or if I wanted to pick up, 1/2 off 1 of the 2 bowls on the order. Very unprofessional and unsatisfactory outcome. As repeat customers, we will not be returning after this. read more

Kind of disappointed in the sun bum smoothie. I chose that flavor for the mango but it was mostly a creamy banana based flavor, maybe they forgot the mango? As you can see, the color wasn't orange enough either. Bowls come in the same flavors with some additional toppings. If I'm in the area some morning, I'm willing to give the acai bowl a try since they're hard to find around Madison but hopefully it will be better than the sun bum. read more

I love a smoothie or smoothie bowl especially in the summer. This is a nice alternative to chain smoothies on this side of town. You can get any smoothie as a bowl and vice versa. These are fresh tasting, not over sweetened or full of additives and powders. I've had the blue spirulna one that looks cool, the orange sherbet, and the açaí. Comparable to Blended at Hilldale but this is easier in and out since it's in a strip mall. Limited hours, hope they can expand a little like open more weekend evenings when people start to learn about it. read more

My husband and I shared the Blueberry Pie Bowl (LG) & both of us felt fu afterwards. The service was great. They are helpful and give honest reviews & suggestions. We each wanted different toppings for the same bowl - so the server came up with the suggestion of the toppings we wanted separate as a side do we both could enjoy what we liked, while ordering the same shared bowl. It pains me to have to leave a three star review for Beneblends. I became aware of this new addition to the west side when it began showing up in my Instagram a year ago. I appreciate their opening in Wisconsin winter and having survived! I've brought a few different people health conscious ladies here and everyone just says their drinks are OK. There is a disconnect where I describe to the staff what I've seen on the gram to order and they're not sure. I'm not entirely sure what I've ended up getting. I think I ended up with carrot juice one time instead of the vibrant colored drink I see on the website and social. Yellow, who knows again. I did have a berry smoothie last time. it wasn't any more special than what I do at home. Will return if I have another new friend to introduce that wants to try a new place that's turning out good for us drinks. Somehow you've got to get the drinks turning out like they look online. For the price it's just got to become right. read more

The ingredients are fresh, unique, delicious and I love that they are a local, woman owned, organization. The folks who own and work there are also so kind and actually remember their customers. I was super excited to try this place after hearing great things, and I enjoyed it! My mom and I got smoothie bowls (classic and tropical açaí), and they were tasty (especially the classic bowl). However, my dad got the berry smoothie, and it was not good. It tasted sour and veryyyyy banana forward. I also think my tropical bowl was lacking a bit of flavor, but the toppings were so good it made up for it. I would return, but I'm curious to try other options as well to find something even better. I've been here twice, both great experiences! The atmosphere is very welcoming with music and sticky note walls. All the employees are super nice and helpful. They finally have a rewards program! I would say that some of the bowl topping are a little skimpy compared to other smoothie bowl places. I love how they donate $1 from each order to charity.
