Pumpkin Pie Smoothie - 16 oz
    Melanie B.

Love Nona Nutrition! Came in today for my favorite seasonal Pumpkin Spice smoothie (their Christmas Time Spiced smoothie is also incredible, keep an eye out for that one). This smoothie place takes the smoothie experience where it should be. These smoothies taste better than a milkshake and have health benefits built in where this absolutely can take the place of a meal and you would still be able to get your fruits, veggies, and proteins all in one filing drink. Having a smoothie that is good for you, keeps you full, and is better than the rest is a hard thing to achieve and this place does it. The inside of the store is clean and modern and fresh; and the staff are always so nice and happy to serve! They also have great connections to the community in selling local healthy goods. Been coming here for years, and will be coming back again soon!

All around, this is a quality place. The menu is a collection of fresh ingredients and a variety to please anyone. From bowls to smoothies to coffee you can find a treat to fill your needs. Even the grab-and-go snacks are delicious. And the straws are nature-friendly! So simple yet so important. This all started with the belief that ingredients matter. Kindness is also important here. The Pay It Forward board holds kind gifts purchased for others, known or unknown. How kind to make sure others are taken care of, and Nona makes this simple. At the register, let them know you want to pay it forward, and your gift will be ready for sharing. Some people pay for a friend or family member, while others state their gift is for "anyone who needs it" or healthcare workers or first responders. It can be for anyone. The quality of the product is obvious, and the kindness is upfront. There is nothing to keep me from appreciating Nona Nutrition and recommending it to others who value the same. Enjoy!

NONA has been my go-to for smoothies (formerly juices) for a few years. Their menu items are always made fresh to order, with high quality ingredients and what I love most is that they don't mind modifications (which is great for someone like me, who has some fruit/vegetable allergies that often need substituting)! I've ordered my juice (and now) smoothie cleanses routinely and each visit the service has been great! They just recently rearranged their lobby, which adds a bit more seating space, if you choose to 'dine' in - with a few tables out front, as well. Perfect place to stop in before or after a workout, quick meet up with friends, or for something on-the-go when you're out running errands - you won't be disappointed!

Had to check out for the natural smoothie place and treat myself with strawberry yogurt goodness.

Hi, This is Dominic the food reviewer. Yesterday I got to try NONA Nutrition. They serve healthy smoothies and smoothie bowls and sell health foods and supplements. It is located at 1350 Capitol Dr, Pewaukee, WI 53072. I got to meet the owners Seth Knapp and Micaela Miller. Seth told me that Nona opened about 3 years ago as a health supplement store. About 1-1/2 years ago they remodeled and added a food side. They named it Nona after Roman Goddess who was known to carry "the thread of life" and Healthy living and nutrition are a symbolic of the "thread of life". Seth and Micaela are very passionate about health and nutrition. They are also huge on kindness and paying it forward, They even have T-shirts that say spread kindness on them. When you walk in, they have a pay it forward board where you can purchase something for anyone that you would like to, like a grandparent, friend, dad, mom or cousin, or even a stranger. Seth told me so far, the longest chain of consecutive pay it forward purchases is a total of seven in a row where people kept paying for the person behind them in line. The ambiance was very modern looking inside with comfortable couches, modern wood tables, and high stand up seating also. They have a counter that you can watch them make your smoothies or bowls, fresh cold pressed juices, and fruit. It's all opened inside their kitchen where they make it all in front of you. I thought it was very spotless inside their too. They have a small section with different varieties of supplements, vitamins and more. In March, they have a March madness bracket to see what everyones favorite smoothie is that year. This year, the Funky Monkey won the bracket. The Funky Monkey under the classics includes peanut butter, banana, chocolate, non dairy milk, and whey protein. My dad had the Himalayan Bowl which has Goji Berries, cocoa, Himalayan pink salt, chocolate whey protein raspberries, coconut milk, almond milk with ancient grain gluten free chocolate peanut butter granola, banana slices, cacao nibs, peanut butter, chia seeds and raw honey. I got to try their Super Cado Bowl which had super healthy fruits and ingredients like avocado's, spinach, pineapple, coconut milk, vanilla cake, Whey Protein with coconut cashew granola, henpeck hearts, banana slices, shredded coconut, raw honey, mangos and macadamia nut honey butter. My dad and myself thought our smoothie bowls were very healthy and delicious. I would definitely go back because they were so kind and welcoming, and they have super nutritious and amazing bowls and smoothies here. Thank you so much Seth and Micaela for having me at your place. I was so pleased and glad to try the smoothie bowls out. I really hope they open another location like this closer to my house, because I would go every day. I love how much they promote kindness and positivity.

Bliss Bowls is a cute shop with a lot of options for toppings. Their signature bowls are varied and they have blue spirulina as a base swap and various other toppings if plain acai isn't your thing. I ordered the peanut butter bowl and I thought the prices weren't terrible considering it is an açaí shop, but they weren't great either given the amount of açaí in the bowl and the overall flavor profile. They serve it soft serve style which means it comes in the typical soft serve 'cone' shape which leaves a bit of room in the container after accounting for air bubbles and shaking it in place. The presentation of it is cute and super picture worthy. The açaí itself tasted a bit bland and had a little bit of a chalky texture from the ice crystals, which means they probably don't use fillers or added sweeteners, but it also seemed a little bit too diluted in taste. I thought the honey in the peanut butter bowl would've added some natural sweetness but it didn't really do much. I appreciate that they offer natural peanut butter (just unsalted peanuts) as a topping but the peanut butter was a bit dry and hard to mix into the açaí bowl. I ended up eating most of it in a few spoonfuls without even trying to. Overall, I appreciate Bliss Bowls being in OC, but I can't say I will be buying açaí from here very often.

They were very helpful in explaining some of the menu options. We were interested in an Acai bowl, and ended up with small Karma and Dragon bowls. Also ordered a Chai Latte (extra foam please). While we were waiting there were several other people that stopped by. All of whom had pre-ordered their to-go orders. After a short wait, we got our bowls and chai. They were both very good. Fresh, well presented, and good portions. The chai was also well made. Nice foam. (could have been hotter, next time will not that). One small suggestion. The Acai puree was very cold/almost frozen. Maybe that works well for to-go, but I needed to have it thaw out a bit to really enjoy the flavor. Nice place that I would come back to.

Inside, there is seating downstairs or upstairs, which tends to be a bit quieter (my choice). Also upstairs is a meeting room that you can reserve. On this visit, I got a super friendly greeting from the cashier. Ordered a London Fog Tea Latte (a little vanilla, a little lavender, extra foam) in a mug, and a blueberry lemon scone. They do a nice job with the latte, and the scone was very good (might ask to have it warmed up next time). The place has a great vibe. The cashier/barista apologized several times as they were preparing other people's orders. Once it was our turn, we got a warm greeting and plenty of help with our menu questions. Lots of nice choices for beverages and sandwiches. We ended up with a couple of chai drinks (one hot, one cold), a grilled cheese sandwich, and a chicken salad croissant. Then we waited... and waited... and waited some more. It took quite a while to get the drinks and the croissant sandwich. Then it took another long while to get the grilled cheese. At one point I asked if they were still working on it (it had been so long that I thought they might have forgotten). They apologized again and explained that the griddle they were using (a panini press) just takes forever. We weren't in a hurry, but I noticed some other customers who were visibly upset. The Chai Latte was excellent, as was the Harvest Chai (an ice cream drink). The Chicken Salad Croissant was also very good -- fresh, with a good amount of chicken and not too much mayonnaise. Nice, crispy textures. The Grilled Cheese was good, but the bread wasn't very "grilled" (maybe a limitation of the panini press?). We didn't get dessert, but they offered a few small samples of the Chocolate Shoppe ice cream -- very tasty. Lots to like about this place, but the wait times were way too long. :(
