I like Idyll Coffee. This time a friend and I came on a Monday morning Food: They consistently make excellent lattes and have a good assortment of pastries. This morning I got a London Fog, in a mug, whole milk, with a little lavender and vanilla. After a short wait it was ready, and was a perfect 140F. The raspberry scone was fresh, with good flavor and texture. They even warmed it up a bit. Service: This morning, we got friendly and helpful service when we placed the order. Atmosphere: Lots of places to sit and we picked a spot on the first level. The noise level was a bit loud, but we could still have a conversation. Issues: After we sat down, we were approached by a panhandler. This is the second time this has happened. After the person left, the manager came over to check on us, and apologized. Not sure how they can best solve this issue. But it's an unfortunate situation. read more

Newer coffee shop in Tosa. The place is massive, with two levels and lots of seating. It is already becoming a fan favorite, and it can be difficult to find a place to post up depending on when you visit. The coffee drinks for salad, and I also had a smoothie which was delicious. They also offer food, including pastries and sandwiches. It's a very cool space, and a great spot to get some work done, surf the web, read a book or just hang out with some friends. Parking can be challenging since it's on a major road. There are quite a few coffee shops now within a few blocks in that area, but this is another strong addition to the bustling coffee scene in Tosa. read more

Cutest coffeeshop that I've been hearing raving reviews about. Two months after they opened, I finally got to try them out. From the outside, it looks like an old office building with a tiny parking lot, but then step inside for a completely revamped interior, quite in fashion with the vibes of today's open concept coffee houses. One thing that sets Idyll apart is all the greenery inside. Not so much downstairs, but upstairs was a beautiful open, yet cozy area filled with pretty greens. We were greeted inside by a man holding a chemex bottle and little cups, handing out samples of their "pineapple candy" pour over. I was interested in trying, but not too excited, since I wasn't sure if this would mean a candy like sweet coffee, but not at all. The coffee was just a bit acid and quite a bit amazing. The guy serving the samples turned about to be Dan, one of the 4 or 5 owners of the shop. He was apparently also an Olympic speed skater! You could hear the passion for coffee as he talked. Something else I learned was that one of the owners used to work for Colectivo for decades. Browsing through the shop later, and drinking their coffee, I could sense some of the Colectivo touches. Their coffee beans are all labeled with the level of roast, body and acidify (like colectivo) and some of the merch looked familiar (I'm a Colectivo buff...). Coffee. After the Pineapple candy, I tried their Shortest Days, which was delicious. Just the right amount of acidity for me - and about as much as I like. I personally prefer to more full bodied, less acidic, good with cream type, though will sometimes be in the mood for some acidity. I brought home a bag of their espresso and Papua New Guinea. The Papua New Guinea was for hubby who enjoys acidic pour overs. He likes it, but wishes it had a little more body. The expresso was good also, but I wish it was a little less acidic. For my home coffees, I feel like I've chosen wrong ones. In any case, a wonderful experience made better by getting to chat with the owner and good coffee. read more

I visited Idyll Coffee Roasters this week and loved the space. I went there for a work meeting and there was lots of seats available, which is always nice. Overall it had a great ambiance! The menu had a good amount of options, I should have explored it more. There were people behind me so I made a quick choice of a classic iced vanilla latte. In the end, I wasn't in love. It seemed like the espresso was a little burnt a the syrup seemed a bit off. I liked the space so much though that I'll definitely be back to try something new. This place gives me Colectivo vibes, good coffee, sandwiches (though expensive), bakery. It's a nice place with two floors which is nice. Good place to go for a good coffee and bakery and you can get some work done on your computer if need be. One thing that annoys me about these places is they never have mustard, drives me crazy . I was so excited to try out a new coffee shop in Tosa! I went on a Saturday mid morning and it was so crowded! Despite this, the service was fast with almost no line waiting to order or receive my coffee. They have a selection of seasonal drinks as well as drip coffee and other non coffee drinks such as smoothies and tea. I ordered the gingerbread latte which was so good. I love when a coffee shop uses mugs instead of to go cups when dining in. They have a good selection of bakery items as well as breakfast and lunch items that I will have to come back to try. I have been waiting for a Tosa unique coffee shop to open up for a longggggg time and this hits the spot!!! A women-owned business and cafe with an incredible interior design concept that invites both conversation and solitude is what Idyll is. The open barista space to get brewing and the two seating levels in the building offer amazing natural light for both people and plants. I dropped into Idyll last week and was super impressed. There were so many places to sit, relax and sip my coffee. They made the space itself super cozy and inviting. Everything from the decor, to the fireplaces, and the abundance of natural light coming from the windows made this a super nice visit. I opted to sit next to the fireplace and was so cozy--this is the perfect hangout for the upcoming winter months. The drinks themselves? Delicious. I ordered their salted maple cold brew and it was so good--I can't wait to go back and try it again. The blush smoothie was perfect for my toddler. This new spot in Tosa is super super cute! I went for a quick to-go coffee with a friend. Parking is nice in the back and there are plenty of spots on side streets too. The vibe is warm and light, with lots of really cool places to sit and eat, drink, and do work. They have an upstairs too but I didn't get to see what that looked like. It seems like the perfect place to get work done or chat with friends. I ordered an iced vanilla latte with cold foam. The prices were fantastic, very reasonable for what I was getting. The drink was filled to the brim which was perfect. The cold foam was perfectly sweet, and the coffee was really good. It was hard to not drink it in one go it was that good. We went twice in one week, both times place was packed. Like a line to order but still manage to find seats each time. Big place many seats between two floors. Love the decor with plants and artworks. Felt open and comfortable, can be loud though. First time I ordered ginger bread latte, it was delicious. I love exploring coffee culture in MKE and this place has been on my list. When I first entered, I couldn't help notice how nice and bright it was in there. The vibe is also very warm, conducive for settling in for a hot cup o' Joe. It is pretty spacious with different kinds of seating - tables, comfy chairs, booth seating, etc. There were people working on laptops, reading, or meeting with friends.
