Back again, nearly two years later and will stand by how authentic Pilcrow coffee flavors are! I'm not usually the coffee-goer that picks the coffee flavors that are funky, quirky, sweet. The baristas at Pilcrow are extremely patient and accommodating, giving me (and friends) a chance to try the flavors on tap. Getting to sample flavors has only helped me out with picking out the right cup for my chats and work! The Caramel Delite is a 4/5 for how delicately it balances the taste of the actual Girl Scout cookie that it's going after. I would've appreciated more coconut undertones as the caramel is pretty overpowering on it's own. The Cinnamon Toast crunch (based off the cereal) is a 4.5/5 - so yum! Again, more for the sweet coffee goers which I don't tend to lean into. They moved around the tables and chairs, welcoming more space for plants which I'm obsessed with and the decor really complements the sunny days.

There was ample street parking nearby and lots of available tables when I arrived. I ordered at the counter and one of the baristas was generous enough to bring my cold brew flight to my table. The cold brew flights are so fun and unique! I believe the flavors change regularly but I genuinely enjoyed all four of my coffees. They were a little on the sweet side but perfect for a mid week treat! The atmosphere is clean, warm and sunny! Highly recommend. Can't wait to bring out of town guests here!
The almond cookie latte was great! I went on a Sunday morning and it was very busy, long line and no open tables. The line moved fast and the staff was very friendly and full of energy! The tables did turn and we sat at a large community table. Even being crowded it was not too loud in there and easy to converse with friends. WiFi was also good! I will be back to try a coffee flight!
I love love love Pilcrow and it's probably my favorite coffee in Milwaukee. They offer their standard menu plus four flavors that rotate monthly. You can try these flavors in a flight - which I think is unique. All their syrups are made in-house and they offer some seriously creative coffee creations! My favorite rotating flavor is Bucks in Twix and I enjoy the "sweet and creamy" on their standard menu. The drinks always come out super quick and the staff is always amazing. The bakery area provides many breakfast and snack options that range from savory to sweet. I highly recommend the sweet and salty cookie or the sausage and gravy pocket, but I've never been dissatisfied by any of the food items. It's such a cute place with plenty of table room for those looking for conversation or a place to work.
Pilcrow is my new favorite coffee shop 5 mins from home and they always have the best seasonal cold brew flavors. I'm a sucker for sweet coffee and they give some whipped topping as well as a little cookie/poptart on top. The staff are always so kind here too. To top it off, the atmosphere is great, with all of the plants and industrial vibes with exposed ceiling. Couldn't recommend this place more!!
This is a nice, clean, artful tasting room near Bronzeville. I absolutely love their creative rotating line of fun and nostalgic cold brew coffee flights! The flights were even enough to share. Their baristas are both knowledgeable and friendly, making the tasting experience personal and very enjoyable. Can't wait to go back!
Pilcrow, in many ways, is one of Milwaukee's best kept secrets! They have such a diverse menu of caffeinated drinks but the rotating specialty latte menu is always worth stopping in for. Staff is always fun and friendly but definitely recommend some of their eats supplied by Milwaukee based Greige Pâtisserie while you're there.
What a cool coffee shop. I sadly had never been here until recently. My first visit was a week ago and I snapped some pics of the interior and grabbed a coffee with a friend. I went back the following weekend bc I just had to try the coffee flight. It was an absolute downpour outside and the place was packed. Great to see. Staff was very friendly. Drinks were great. I also tried a flaky sausage and gravy biscuit thing and it was so damn good. Can't wait to bring others here.
Visited Pilcrow for the first time on a Saturday morning. Got their seasonal Candy Cane Mocha iced with oat milk and it was wonderful. The venue is really comfy and lively. It's a great place to catch up with friends and do work. Would recommend visiting!
The atmosphere is so spacious, light with all the windows and cozy. The almond croissant warmed is a must and was so soft and flaky. The pumpkin spice latte with oat milk has a good flavor and spice to it that makes it unique. I will say my latte was lukewarm and not hot like I wanted which kind of ruined it for me. Maybe order your latte extra hot. I have gotten their coffee flights in the past and that was sweet and fun to do!
Cortado with almond milk was delicious. When you order to stay and eat they also serve it with sparkling water which was nice. It was busy on a Saturday with a lot of people coming thru so you know it was good!

I give props to Pilcrow for consistently having unique flavored drinks and a warm atmosphere! I feel like I always have a great conversation with the person taking my order. You can't beat the flight, it's the perfect opportunity to try new things and they have great themes that change out monthly! read more
Stopped in this last Saturday. I was surprised to see that, on this occasion, the place was not wall-to-wall with people. I ordered a hot mocha in a mug with whole milk. It came out after a little while. It was nicely made, with excellent foam and good flavor. Unfortunately, it was not very hot, measuring just 110°F. I'm not used to seeing mochas served at less than 130°F. Next time, I'll need to ask them to make mine a little hotter. One of our party got the Latte Flight and said they were all good. Another person ordered the Coffee Old Fashioned, which was also very good and an interesting drink. Overall, it was a good experience. read more

It was my first time stopping in this morning. Really nice layout and design! There's so many drink options to choose from on their menu! Today I went with the Vanilla Bean Creamy Cold Brew with Almond milk, Even though the cookie one sounded good as well! Great service! read more
Pilcrow coffee is a really cool retro-ish coffee shop that I'm so thankful I stopped at. I tried the cold brew flight which was little Debbie's themed and it was creamy, non bitter, and DELICIOUS. I could not believe some of the flavors that they were able to bring out in this coffee. I also really enjoyed the Brie and apricot scone which was light and well balanced. Service was excellent and the shop had tons of seating with lots of nice natural light. read more
Ever since moving to Milwaukee from Minnesota last year, I was on the hunt for a coffee shop that offers iced coffee flights to replace my go-to spot up in Minneapolis, and Pilcrow was my answer! This coffee shop switches out their cold brew flights on a monthly basis, which keeps me coming back for more. (Yes, they only do cold coffee flights, not hot.) They always have seasonally-inspired flavors: In September, the flight included pecan pie, brown sugar maple, apple pie and pumpkin cold brews; and in October, Butterfinger, cookies & cream, "Bucks in Twix" and Heath bar. I have enjoyed 98% of every flavor of cold brew that I've tried at Pilcrow, and I'm pretty picky with my coffee! They have a fridge full of bottled, flavored cold brews in case you want to purchase one (or three) bottles to go for future days. If you become a Pilcrow fan, they also have cute merch to browse too. Parking is a little bit funky around Pilcrow, but I've never personally had a problem finding a spot. Usually, I can park right in front of the cafe so I can see my car from my table inside, which I appreciate. The cafe itself has lots of sunlight shining in, which makes it a desirable place to work, plus plenty of plug-ins and Wi-Fi to use. read more

I ordered a flight (who doesn't love a coffee flight!?) and all of these drinks were delightful. Very sweet, no bitterness at all. The ham and cheese croissant was delightful - fluffy, crunchy and the ham and cheese were balanced (& it was warmed to perfection.) The inside was clean, lots of seating, but very busy. I wish there was a little more attention to the acoustics because it's VERY loud but popped in my headphones and that wasn't an issue any longer. Parking is a bit tricky but that's to be expected anywhere in MKE anymore. All of the employees I encountered were kind and helpful. I'd come back! read more
Came on a rainy Sunday around 9am and by 9:15 there wasn't an empty spot and the line stayed steady the entire time I was there. I asked the cashier what they would suggest since it was my first time being there and they let me know they specialize in cold brews. They said their favorite from the normal menu was the sugar cookie latte but from the special menu for that month they really enjoyed the thin mint so that's what I got and it was great. For a study spot this place isn't that great because it gets loud very easily but just to talk with friends it's great! read more

Pilcrow is known for their cold brew and I understand why! Their creamy cold brews are made with cold brew, oatly oat milk and house-made syrup. Could anything be better?? I loved the cinnamon roll and thought the toppings made it even more fun! I would probably get the 12 oz instead of the 16oz next time. It was very sweet and I couldn't finish the last few sips. However, the flavor was delicious!! I love how they offer monthly flight options with changing flavors. We will definitely be back to check out the flights. We went on a Saturday morning and there was a continuous line the whole time (almost an hour and a half). So, clearly other people enjoy Pilcrow as well. read more
We visited this shop a second time so that a visiting family member could taste the flavored coffee flight. To avoid the unpleasant sour taste that I experienced with my espresso last time, I asked if one of the coffee beans was less sour and was told that the blended coffee would be less "fruity" than the single-origin (Ethiopian) coffee. This turned out to be true, as the espresso I got this time was significantly less sour than the one I got last time. Each of us also ordered a pastry item (almond croissant, sausage puff, and asparagus and prosciutto puff). The shop heats up the pastry in a commercial grade convection microwave oven, making it warm and soft. The pastry, after being warmed up slightly, did taste very good. So, our second visit to the shop certainly gave me a better experience than our first. read more

Hello. My. Lovely. Stopped by this Bronzeville gem on a recent rainy Saturday morning. I loved the experience from beginning to end, starting with the retro chic exterior to the welcoming interior to the friendly barista and intriguing coffee menu--this will absolutely be a regular coffee stop from now on. For my coffee, I got their almond cookie latte made with almond milk. It was flavorful latte on the sweeter side (but not too sweet--just perfect!). For my breakfast, I got their apple gouda scone. Their pastries are courtesy of Greige Patisserie and are phenomenal. I typically prefer savory for breakfast but decided to order something out of the norm for me and was so glad I did. The scone was not the least bit dry and the flavors melded perfectly. It was fantastic. I noted while I was there that they do nitro flights, offering four, five ounce pours. Currently the offer is French Toast (billed as brunch in a glass), Bucks in Twix (a twix inspired beverage), Thai cold brew, and Yabba Dabba Brew (made with fruity pebbles cereal milk). I definitely want to do the flight sometime soon. I think this would be such a fun date idea. They have plenty of seating for working or socializing. We got a table by the window and played a little cribbage while we sipped. Can't recommend this spot enough. Get to it! read more

Pilcrow is one of my favorite places to get a coffee. I love their classics and the fun seasonal drinks! When we stopped in recently, they had the fall menu out and a fun Shrek drink! I really enjoy the Nitro Tap drinks like the Vanilla Creamy and the Salted Caramel Creamy! There are so many options to choose from and if you have trouble deciding you can always go with a flight! There are a variety of pastries and goodies to try! Its a great place to grab a coffee or hangout with friends! read more

Pilcrow is a cute coffee shop. I arrived right at opening. This was a good study spot until the crowd picked up. Only downside is--i only found one outlet! If you're trying to study here, you must come with your stuff fully charged. Overall, a nice change of scenery from my usual study spot. read more

This place is cute but definitely could use more seating. It was pretty busy when I went. And it was very loud inside because of the people but the music was really loud too. I had a cold brew flight. The presentation was super cute! This cold brew was more latte style to me with more milk than normally. The cold brews, all 4 on the tray were VERY sweet. I couldn't finish all 4. I'd go back to try a new flight of coffees since they switch them up. read more
