I've driven past Casera many times, and finally took the time to stop in and check it out. Gosh, am I glad I did! I was in need of something small to sustain me briefly, so I ordered a London Fog and the special scone (rhymes with "gone"), that day a delectable-looking chocolate chip with chocolate drizzle. The Fog was most interesting in that it was topped with nutmeg, which I adore. To be honest, for some reason the combination of the regular London fog and nutmeg reminded me of some medicine or unloved candy from my childhood, but it wasn't so offputting that I didn't finish every last drop. The scone was hands-down the best I've had outside of Scotland. That sounds like hyperbole, but it's not; it's honest. The texture was impeccable for my personal taste as I prefer a moister, cakier scone. This one was that, a perfect scone with a perfect number of chocolate chips and a perfect chocolate drizzle. This pastry alone (and whatever other flavors the bakers produce) will get me going back again and again. The establishment was very clean, I found some of the chairs to be uncomfortable, I thought the mix of lighting fixtures was interesting, and I enjoyed the sunshine pouring in through the garage doors. It was surprisingly quiet because everyone there was on a laptop. It does make me worry a bit about coming in with children or with a friend to have conversation, but we can all get along. :) read more

Casera is one of those awesome coffee shops that has really good brunch options. I love that they use high quality ingredients and make their syrups in house too. I recommend trying their seasonal drinks out when they're on the menu. The space itself is great for a group or a family--they have plenty of seating options. I had the potato side for $2 and was impressed at how generous the portion was. The drinks are solid--the shots are pulled correctly and the foam is perfectly heated. Can't complain here about the consistency of the service either. I also recommend checking out their fridge for local goods you can take home. Been to Casera few times now and always have a great experience. The staff is always friendly and I like how bright and spacious the cafe is. It makes for a nice place to hang out/do some work- especially with the comfy seating. I have yet to try breakfast items, but I love their bakery. I got an iced Carmel latte and a chocolate chip scone the first time. The coffee is not on the sweet side if that's what you're looking for. Then I got a drip coffee the second time, added creamer and CINNAMON for the first time and I enjoyed it. The scone is a great size and sooo good. I've had it 2 times now. I love a cafe with a lot of windows. This place is very aesthetic, clean. I have to say the bathrooms are amazing too lol also clean and aesthetic. Friendly atmosphere. People working on laptops and friend group or a family going in for a bite to eat as well. How lovely is this place!!! My friend found this place for our group of seven to get breakfast one morning and I am so glad she did! Firstly, the cafe is so big!!! Very spacious with plenty of seating in different styles. There's also a little shop area where you can buy various items and souvenirs/postcards even. There are also large windows that allow so much natural sunlight to come in - it's truly very nice! The staff is also superb - very nice and patient with our large group. I got the papas bravas with over medium eggs and very much enjoyed it for breakfast. The potatoes were nicely seasoned, the eggs cooked well, and the sauces very yummy! I've passed by here dozens of times, but this was my first time stopping in. It's conveniently located right on the corner of Becher Street. They have a parking lot with plenty of spaces. The entire southeast corner is made up of large, windowed garage doors, so you can get plenty of light and fresh air when everything is open. There are table outside. Inside their are tables, booths and upholstered chairs. Lots of spots for all size groups. I came on a Monday morning, and there were other tables with small groups. Some people looked like they were doing work, while others were just chilling out. The place has a nice, relaxed vibe to it. I was greeted by a cheerful barista, and she did a nice job explaining some of the menu items. I typically get a London Fog Tea Latte, but the description of their Manila Fog sounded interesting and tasty (Black Rishi Tea, Ube Syrup, and Coriander on top -- with extra foam for me). I also asked for a Matcha Scone, which they warmed up a bit. Both the Manila Fog and the Matcha Scone were excellent. You could definitely taste the Ube Syrup, though it was a bit too sweet for me (I would ask for half the amount next time). The scone had great flavor, but its texture was more muffin-like than scone-like. They also have other merchandise for sale from other local small businesses. This ranges from ice cream, honey, to technology products (i.e. instamatic cameras). A fun assortment for gift shopping? I'll definitely be coming back -- and will ask for a few tweaks on the food items, or maybe try a couple of different ones. read more

We tried a brownie and their seasonal drink, which is a pumpkin cheesecake, cold brew. I also had a macchiato, which was the traditional kind, and not some giant sugar laid in monstrosity. Everyone was kind, and there's a little shop at the front. I would note that the hours listed on yelp do not seem to be the same as the hours that are in action at the location, so if you're coming from a great distance or near closing time, it may be wise to call. I thought this little note on my husband's drink was a nice extra touch. I was pleasantly surprised by Casera Cafe! Going into it, I thought Casera would be another one of those ultra-modern, sleek coffee shops that charge an arm and a leg for incredibly average food and beverages. I was totally wrong! Casera might be on the pricier side, but the quality justifies the price tag. The Golden Milk was rich and earthy with a hint of spice. My dining companion went with the Two Eggs Your Way, which is pretty hard to mess up. It was a solid breakfast, and he said the Cold Brew was good, too. But the best thing I tried was the Morning Bun French Toast. It looks like they slice a Morning Bun crosswise and then soak it in custard and fry it like your typical French toast, but the result was to die for. The Morning Bun French Toast was tender but with a good bit of caramelization that added texture and depth of flavor. Casera was out of apple butter, which typically comes with the dish, so they subbed in peach butter instead and I must say they need to make peach butter the standard. The peach added a punch that brightened up the dish and balanced the richness of the French toast, all the while avoiding the holiday-y connotations that can come with apples and cinnamon. Service itself was great. The staff was so friendly and there were some regulars who came in shortly after us who were greeted by name. That's not something you see all too often anymore. The space itself was bright and clean and there were plenty of seating options to choose from. It's a kid-friendly space, too. Many families came in while we dined. I'd highly recommend Casera Cafe. With a pretty large menu and great pastry selection, you're sure to find something you love. read more

I had a good time here hanging out with my friend. It was very easy to order and we sat down with our numbers. They called us up for our drinks so we had to go get those but our food was brought out to us. My BLT came with chips so that was nice. I was also able to change the onion aioli to garlic aioli so I was very thankful for that. It was very tasty. However I'm always left with the feeling that BLTS should be like ten bucks. Date of visit: December 29, 2024 Our monthly coffee date with some of our closest friends hit up the south side this month with a visit to the bright, shiny Casera Cafe and Bakery. Parking is plentiful, both on the street and in the adjoining lot and the cafe is quite spacious, so if you have a bit of a larger group gathering, this would be a nice potential option for you. I went with a Peppermint Mocha and the Morning Bun French Toast. The PM was quite good, if a bit expensive at $7 for the mug. Thankfully they have tureens available with a couple blends of standard coffee so I got a second cup of that to give me a bit more value in the drink. The French Toast was a bit disappointing, however. The menu states that it comes with "bourbon apple butter." Yeah, it didn't. Instead it came with maple syrup and some random diced apples on it. I didn't mind the apples, but was confused by the substitution and let down that it wasn't called out at the time of ordering as I might have gone a different direction if I had known this. Normally I would have brought this down to three stars for the fail on the main dish, but two things helped raise the score back up: The Brown Butter cookie (amazing, buy them all) and the friendliness of the staff. We hung out for three hours on a busy weekend morning and staff not only came by and took our dirty dishes, but never gave us the impression that they wanted us to vacate the table. read more

Very spacious with a wrap around counter for the inner workings and seating all around it with a cozy lounge area in front. It's the no table service Culver's number system, order, take number put on to your table and your food is brought to you. Lots of great looking baked goods, coffees and hot food on the menu but the two eggs your way with choice of protein, potatoes, toast, fruit and eggs your way was my option. Here's where the train goes off the rails on a four star review and turns into a two star review. The sourdough toast it self was excellent but being cold with cold un spreadable butter ruined all the great bread. The mini skin on potatoes were cooked nicely. The medium cooked eggs were perfectly cooked with a nice orange yoke. The sausage was very tasty and house made, better than most restaurants. Woke up this morning and we decided we wanted to try something new--so we found Casera and decided to give it a try. Funny thing, I told my fiance, Alyssa, that she took me to a spot for breakfast with great matcha and had a modern and sleek interior a few months ago. We just never remembered the name of the place or what we ate. Well....THIS was the place! We laughed about it as we pulled up and parked. I saw their bakery items and to be honest, they all looked really good--especially their fresh baked breads. I opted for the croissant though as I am still trying to find the most suitable place for them after living off them in Paris. I also decided to get the hopple popple because the name was intriguing but also it said summer sausage was in them, so why not? Alyssa ended up getting the "two eggs your way"--over medium as always and it came with bacon, potatoes and two slices of sourdough. For drinks? Well, we had water because we made coffee before we left our house. I know...shame on us! Anyway, the breakfast meals were decent. Alyssa loved hers but I have to say--I am not too sure how anyone could mess up over easy eggs, potatoes and bacon. So unfortunately, I won't act like that is something to write home or this post about. The sourdough was really good though--I prefer more of a sour flavor but the bake and crust was perfect! The hopple popple was good but there was an abundance of salt in the potatoes, which I am not fond of. The eggs were cooked perfect and I loved the summer sausage that was in the breakfast. But here's the thing--summer sausage has salt already because it is preserved--add more salt to a dish just doesn't make sense to me. Now for the croissant's fate. Sadly, it lacked layers. I bit into it and it wasn't very buttery and the layers seemed to be missing. Not sure if this is always the case but I was deeply saddened that my Parisian croissant agenda was not satisfied today. It's okay, I'll try again and see if it was just the day. This is a great place to work though and get coffee/tea drinks. Obviously, there was nothing that stood out to us the last time we came to help us remember this place. However, I did remember their matcha--it was marvelous! The day we came and grabbed drinks I had brought my laptop and did some work here. It was rather peaceful and a lot of other people were working as well. I am going to guess their lunch is better, but like I said--I'll try again and see for sure. We came here on a Saturday morning around 10am and there was a nice crowd but we were able to get a seat. This is a very spacious cafe and is extremely well lit. This would be a perfect study shop or just enjoying a nice coffee and pastry with friends. I love the back booths as the have a wall of old rolling pins. The staff is extremely attentive. The cashier gave recommendations when asked and they kept the dining room clean. Now the food and drink here I think was fantastic. I got an island matcha which had toasted coconut and fulfilled my matcha craving. I also got the morning bun which reminded me of monkey bread but not moist like one. Casera is a nice addition to bayview. The layout is open with booths, long tables, small tables and a lounge area with a couch. They have pastries, bread, muffins and other baked goods along with a menu of prepared breakfast dishes and sandwiches. And of course it wouldn't be a cafe without coffee and tea. I had the chai latte and hoppel poppel and both were very good. My only critic is that I wasn't a fan of the summer sausage in the hoppel poppel. Not that it didn't taste good, it just didn't feel like it fit in with the dish. I'll let it slide though because the whole idea of hoppel poppel is that it's traditionally made with leftovers, so not everything is going to match perfectly. Service was good and quick. You order at the counter. Drinks get called out by the name given and you get a number stand to take back to your table where they will deliver the non bakery items directly to you. There is someone that walks around and busses empty dishes occasionally, but you also can clean up after yourself like a typical cafe. Overall great experience! read more

The vibes are 12/10, very bright yet calming ~ lofi on in the background. The breakfast food was *chefs kiss* , my husband loved the Papas Bravas. I got the simple two egg breakfast with potatoes and sourdough toast. The eggs were SO fluffy and creamy. For Drinks: I got a dirty chai, which was the perfect espresso to chai ratio. Not sweet at all, which I prefer. My husband got the island matcha {very out of character for him}, he loved it! Super beach vibes. Lastly, we got the "white loaf" for our gumbo we made tonight... RUN DON'T WALK to get yourself a loaf. The most fluffy, yet doughy inside of white bread I've ever had. They also have a bread program, where your 10th loaf is free . I noticed the staff constantly kept busy, talking to customers, organizing items, helping other coworkers, and even cleaning the lights. I ordered the Witches brew ( 8 dollars) and avocado toast ( 12 dollars). Anytime ube is an option I immediately purchase it. The witches' brew was an ube cold brew. The cold brew was delicious, I would order it again. The avocado toast was okay I would not purchase it again, it had goat cheese which I am not a fan of. I wanted to note there is a container at a separate counter where you can put your dishes. The other option is bringing your dishes to the counter where the staff is. There are designated places to put your dirty dishes instead of leaving them on the table for the staff to deal with! Overall I loved it and recommend Casera to others! Love it! Great destination for breakfast. We rode our bike here to have breakfast on a lovely Summer morning and it was well worth it. They have a wide assortment of bakery and a nice breakfast entry menu with some very cool selections. I had the Papas Bravas and it was a huge portion of fresh red potatoes and eggs with white cheddar & garlic aioli. My wife had the Egg In a Hole and again a nice potion with fresh baked bead as toast and bowl of fresh fruit. I had a great time checking out Casera, a new addition to the area right off of the main bay view strip! The interior is super beautiful and i loved how there were multiple different seating options and even a patio! I highly recommend their portobello torta! Some of the best bread I've had at a coffee shop in Milwaukee so far! The staff were nice and service was relatively quick with the amount of people who were in the shop. - Meh food, great ambiance, ok service - No reservation made or can be made - Would not come back This place has been saved and on our list since it had opened, but was such a let down. It looks great with the large open space, clean interior, and beautiful decor, but aside from that, plain food and plain drinks. We had walked in and up to the counter and were completely ignored by the girl at the counter until another worker had appeared and apologized while their register was refreshing. Looking past the greeting, the bussers were great at taking away plates and bringing out food. For my food, I had gotten the Thick Cut BLTA that came with a bag of chips. The flavor of everything was good with the spreads and bacon and bitterness from the arugula, but the bread was weirdly crumbly. I have only ever had 1 other sandwich with this texture and I still don't understand how it is even possible to achieve that texture... my guess is overheating it up on a pan without anything like butter or whatever to help protect(?) the bread, idk. My lovely lady got the Avocado Toast for her brunch that morning. The bread on this one was a lot better as it held together, but was not very toasted or crunchy, making it a little hard to cut. The 2 runny eggs were good on the toast and the avocado was good, but overall the meal lacked salt and pepper and overall flavor. The bacon jam added flavor, but the sweetness wasn't really needed and I think some more saltiness would have been a better choice. The radish added good crunch, but again, it was just a crunchy slice of radish that wasn't pickled or anything. The toast also came with a side salad(?) but on the menu, it is advertised as if the tomatoes are on the toast which I think is a weird descriptor. The salad was not even mentioned on the menu, so it was a surprise when it was served, but still a good addition. I think this meal would have been better with more salt and adding in some greens to the toast itself - the side salad almost seems redundant seeing as though there are plenty of greens on the toast itself. For our drinks, I had gotten the Island Matcha, which had some nice coconut and strawberry flavors. Those flavors themselves were mild, but the matcha was even more mild, like they had only put in a baby scoop of matcha for color. It says hot on the menu, but I was offered an iced option which was nice. M'lady had gotten the Hot Chocolate and it was quite bland and flavorless. It was topped with some foam, but after mixing, and drinking past it, the cocoa itself was basically that same grayish color. I don't think if I was blindfolded I would have guessed I was drinking hot chocolate, so I am not sure what was up with that. Spending ~$43, I was really disappointed with the flavors of everything we had gotten and the service on our visit. The display and visuals of everything was great, sadly there is more to a cafe than that. I think it would be great to see more salt being used and maybe their other menu items and outsourced bakery goods are good, but at these prices and what we were served, I can't say I am planning a visit any time soon. read more

This place is super cute the rishi tea is a must try and the espresso was really good too. Very smooth. You go to the front and order and they give you a number. The place is big and can accommodate a lot of people. It's very open and can't wait to try this in the summer. We had the French toast the apples were cold it would have been nice if they warm and there was butter provided too. Otherwise so yummy. read more
