I visited here when visiting family in Wisconsin. This coffee shop is super cute and a perfect stop if you're shopping in this area. This place has always been awesome. The last time I ordered, I ordered over the phone, and I so appreciate that the gal read the coffee menu and the food menu to me since I was driving. Even paid over the phone! They got it done-did in 10-15 minutes, I strolled in for like 15 seconds to pick it up, and proceeded to caffeinate my kids and I while we sat in the parking lot for a quick lunch. I have to say, I don't understand the Fiddleheads fans! I think the products are overpriced and not very appetizing -- especially since they outsourced their bakery! Every day, I have to climb all over their customers who won't move off the sidewalk on Main Street in Thiensville. I guess they have a right to "occupy" the public access to get their food as long as they stay 6 feet apart and wear a mask! Some of us, however, just want to walk our dogs or use the public sidewalk. The nerve of us! Anyway, there they stand, fidgeting and bleary eyed, waiting for their cup of Jo. So, last week, Buddy and I joined the line. I ordered a caramel frappy-thingy and a grilled cheesey sandwich with ham (?). As you can see, I'm not sure what I got. My drink had little brown things floating in it. I think it was cookie crumbs. It would have been nice to know because, I hate Oreos so whatever the dark brown floaters were .... Well, let's say, nobody wants unexpected dark brown floaters in a drink! To make matters worse, it didn't taste like caramel (yes, I took my life into my own hands and tasted it)! As for the sandwich, it was large, burnt, and greasy. Even the Service dog passed on the ham(?). I wasted my money! I won't be going back. Fiddleheads is a great local coffee shop. This review is specifically for the Mequon location, however the Shorewood location is also great! (Those are the only 2 I've personally been to). The Mequon locations has an abundance of seating between their indoor seating, their heated glass enclosure (that also opens up for the summer time) and their outdoor patio. Located right next to the river, it makes for a scenic morning cup of joe. Their black coffee has good flavor, but I am a big fan of their breve lattes. Both my fiancée and I also love their breakfast sandwiches when we feel like treating ourselves. It's slightly pricier for a latte than some of the other coffee shops, however the quality is worth it. read more

Whatever the little main street area of Thiensville might lack ever so slightly in the adorably charming factor (see: Cedarburg), in my mind it makes up for in convenience. Its slightly closer to get to from downtown, and the little yellow cottage with wraparound porch that houses the coffee shop is a block or so off the interurban trail. They have coffee and tea and all the drinks (lattes, chai, etc) one might expect. They also have smoothies, sandwiches (breakfast and otherwise) soups, baked goods, wraps, etc. Everything you might expect from a coffee shop. Theres outdoor seating on the little porch, as well as a number of tables and Adirondack chairs out back on a really beautiful patio facing the river. Inside its more like a little house, cottage-y like you'd find in a British mystery novel (or something). Staff has always been very pleasant and accommodating. A bike rack and parking lot are adjacent. The sign out front lists summer hours to 6:30 pm. I'm a fan - 4 stars. read more

Fiddleheads is unique in that each area store we've visited is different in politeness, timeliness and cleanliness. The food is always good, the drinks as well, but the clientele and employees make or break the location. So, here goes: Mequon location off Port Washington has many pushy rude snobby clients, older and looking for attention. This makes the employees act the same. Slow and somewhat rude. Thiensville location has more mixed clientele of old and young. Some nice dogs but owners don't always pick up the poop near the river. Millennials whose children run mom and dad, todays modern "No control" and smiling. Employees are EXCELLENT and polite and put up with the clientele carefully. The grounds needs a lot more parking! Parking problems turn away business and people recommend to go to Colectivo. Cedarburg: This is there most consistent and nice location. Very polite employees and clientele and service is good all around. I live in Mequon/Thiensville and like seeing Brittney, Cameron and Jayden. Very nice employees that have to put up with a lot of manner-lost Millenials w/kids. read more

First and last time coming here! Should have just gone to Collectivo like usual. The lady at the counter was rude, no one in line behind us and she rushed our order. I didn't even end up getting what I wanted because she didn't give us time :(. Cookie was dry and had been sitting out all day. It's a small house with plenty of seating inside and out to enjoy a good coffee. The baked goods are delicious, too. Muffins, scones, and other interesting snacks and sandwiches are homemade locally. Be sure to grab a bag of beans before you leave to re-live your experience in your own home. What I love most about this place is it doesn't feel like a chain. It has character and a personality. This was my first time here and it was so good! I got an Iced Oat Milk SF Hazelnut Latte and it was perfect. The coffee that they roast themselves is amazing. The entire time I was drinking my latte I kept saying it tasted so smooth and buttery like caramel or butterscotch. I asked the barista what coffee she used and she pointed out their espresso beans with the Flavor Notes of Caramelized Sugar and Toasted Marshmallow! I have a weakness for local coffee shops and I absolutely love this one! What a beautiful location on the river. I wish I wasn't in rush to get to work because I would have loved to sit in the heated patio (sun-room) looking out on the river. I can only imagine what it looked like a week or two ago with the leaves changing colors. Not to mention - the patio looks like it is dog friendly! I got a vanilla latte and a chocolate chip scone - both we're delicious. You could tell that the barista that made my drink really cared about what she was doing. This is a wonderful, locally owned, charming coffee house featuring fresh bakery, soups and breakfast sandwiches. It is located on a beautiful river-side spot in the quaint village of Thiensville. The three seasons patio boasts a great area to study, work, read or converse outside. This is my go-to place to get work done with a cold brew coffee. The owners are good stewards of the community too. One word of warning is that the men's bathroom is always freezing cold because of the powerful floor vent which always seems to be lasting air. read more

The location of this place really wins me over. The patio out by the river is a little tranquil gem that is great for chilling at lunchtime. They also recently remodeled and have a outdoor fireplace and covered seating. I prefer the riverside seating but the other patio is nice for a slightly larger group. The food that they do have here is decent to good. I wish they didn't keep paring down the menu though - I think they only have like 3 sandwiches now? They got rid of my favorites (the fiddlehead, hammie sammie, and tuna melt). Also, they definitely pre-make the sandwiches, so you cannot substitute anything if you wanted to. Still a 5-star coffee shop experience all these years later. On a lazy Sunday morning, I went for coffee and iced chai with my dad. Over the years, Fiddleheads has expanded and grown from that small coffee shop on Main Street Thiensville I remember. We enjoyed our coffee and iced chai latte on their great terrace which seems much bigger than I remember. The iced chai is Milwaukee's own tea outlet Rishi! Yeah for locally sourced, tasty tea! My dad enjoyed his regular selection of coffee as he frequents this cafe as a happily retired guy. They have a great food menu and tasty pastries. I enjoyed a folded over scone with an apricot filling accompanying my iced chai latte which my dad had a bagel. Talk about a delicious pastry, flaky and sugary. It hit the spot on a hot Sunday morning. I'll keep coming back here whenever I'm in town for the friendly staff, delicious food and pastries, and awesome beverages. read more

Not only are the coffees and teas amazing here yet they have a decent sized menu that ranges from vegetarian options including salads, and wraps to various other breakfast and lunch sandwiches and wraps. When the weather is cooler, head on inside where there is plenty of seating space to enjoy your drink and chat with friends and family. Beautiful spot on the river with nice tables with outlets to get work done or study with a fireplace in the room . However I tried a chicken wrap and it was litterally horrendous. The chicken didnt seem fresh or of good quality and they added a bland mixture of potatoes and cooked spinach inside. Who TF puts potatoes in a wrap? Im truly easily to please but I was actually considering taking it back it was so bad. I beg the owner to do humanity a favor and banish that from the menu forever and then review your menu for upgrades. The sides were chips or raw carrots.
