a bag of cocoa cookies and a cup of coffee

Outstanding coffee, I love the cute cozy wooden interior -- really perfect for a quick stop off the highway. Large parking lot and drive through. So, essentially this locale is ultra convenient no matter if you're in a time crunch or not. The baked goods and cookies are also fantastic. Heavy recommend if in the area.

The whole menu is available from the drive through.

I have had a particular sandwich from this place in the back of my mind for years now and I have been waiting for the day when I was in the area so when I found my self in Slinger today I stopped by. My first impression was that this is a nice community gathering spot for some drinks and something to eat. The place has a small menu with different hoagies being the biggest food option. All kinds of baked goods with soups and salads and even breakfast options will satisfy most people. A friend of mine who is not a sandwich guy recommended that I get a sandwich and since I have been craving a craft sandwich that's what I got. I got the Valentine because it sounded good with all the ingredients. Ham, salami, capicollo, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, hot jalapeños, pepperoncini, red peppers, green peppers, oils, sauce and spices. I ordered the full that comes with a bag of chips and an apple muffin because it just looked so fuc%ing good. At first the sandwich didn't look like much but when I turned it sideways it was fantastic looking. The Valentine was very tasty and a great choice. The French bread was that great fresh kind with the slight chew/soft crust which just works well. All the ingredients made for a tasty sandwich with the jalapeños adding nice heat. The textures mixed well from the soft/chewy bread to the crunch of the fresh veggies with the meat and cheese. Overall the sandwich was way better than my friend said but he is not a sandwich or foodie guy like my self and I'm so glad that I finally stopped over.

The food is fantastic... it's a little pricey, but worth it. The soups are homemade and are scrumptious. The deserts are fab!

I think our total came to around 15 dollars, for a full sandwich, large cookie, and a medium chai latte.

As soon as we walked in the NOISE smacks you right in the face and ears. The restaurant was spacious and clean with a nice menu but the NOISE makes it almost unbearable. My wife ordered the Crème brûlée French toast which looked good but was extremely sweet and quickly turned mushy. She would not order it again. My mother in law ordered French toast and bacon. The bacon was hard and difficult for her to eat and the French toast was average. I ordered a BLT, added an egg to make it a BELT, and then added cheese to make it a BELTCH sandwich with crispy fries and a cup of chicken dumpling soup which came with the meal. I even told the waitress that I hate soggy limp fries. Because I lost my smell and taste 5 months ago I asked my wife to try the soup, and when she took 2 spoons I knew she liked it and she told me it tasted good. My sandwich was nice and thick, full of good food and the lettuce was very fresh but they were hot house tomatoes. My fries arrived COLD and SOGGY . I would order it again, however, I doubt we will ever return to the restaurant. The WOMENs restroom is under construction so they have to share with the men and I would think that a restaurant that size with only one functioning restroom is a health code violation. While waiting in line to use the men's restroom, a very nice lady told me that it's been under construction for a very long time. I noticed that there were 4 men inside of the restroom standing around TALKING and NO WORK was being done. They made sure to try to keep the door closed every time someone walked by. I sure hope that they are not being paid by the hour. If you try out the restaurant, Take ear plugs and schedule extra time for your visit. The restaurant is average at best,

The gravy was yummy but the biscuit was a little too filling for me with how heavy the rest of the dish was - I'm sure people love it but it just wasn't for me. The cheesy hash browns were amazing, I mean who doesn't like cheesy hash browns.... This place is a classic family restaurant style/atmosphere but with more food options/variety. This was my first time and I can't wait to come again!

Of the…read moreoptions nearby that I either hadn't been to before or hadn't been to in a long time, Sawmill Inn was the most appealing given its proximity to Germantown. I got the Head Sawyer (steak, eggs, and hash browns) with the double tenderloin option, one kid got chicken strips with fries, and the other got a kids pizza. We also shared a piece of coffee cake. I don't think my youngest was super enthused by his pizza, mostly because it's not memorable to him. My oldest liked his chicken strips and fries, but I don't know if he's come across chicken strips and fries that he doesn't like, so take that with a grain of salt. The hash browns were ok. They were just fried potato with no other flavor or add-in like onions. I added salt and pepper because they needed it. I got American cheese on the scrambled eggs and they were as you'd expect. The tenderloin was fine. Obviously not as good of a cut as New York strip or ribeye would have been. I ended up sharing a portion of it with my oldest and he ate it without complaints too. The star of our visit was the coffee cake. It was warm and soft and in every sense perfect. Sharing is carrying and I'm fine sharing with my kids most of the time, but man, I wish it had been all for me.

The coffee was there almost before I ordered. I had a hard time choosing what to have as their menu had so many great options. Not too many like a Greek diner, but each item looked better than the last. I decided upon the Maria skillet, chorizo, jalapenos, and cheese with over easy eggs over hash browns, YUM!!! I opted for the side of pancakes over toast, because, why not?? My food arrived quickly, and the whipped butter served with the pancakes was not stone cold but easily spread, and the pancakes themselves were lightly sweet and fluffy, just the way you want them to be when you want to get your day going right. The skillet was amazing, eggs cooked perfectly, hash browns crispy and tender, chorizo cooked perfectly, this was a breakfast fit for the big day I had ahead of me. Thank you Red Apple Cafe, you will see me again soon!!!
