After a lovely morning strolling the streets of West Bend's iconic Farmer's Market, we stopped into GoodDay Cafe for brunch with a large group of 12. Plenty of parking in the dedicated lot outside! Now, for a cafe named GoodDay, the interior is a bit of a drab...gray walls, monochromatic artwork, and corrugated steel accents allude to Farmhouse chic, but miss the mark. I'd love to see them liven up the space a bit! Service was overwhelmed during our visit, which I never fault the servers themselves, but do think the business could have staffed better on a Saturday brunch rush. It took a long time to receive water and get our orders placed, while the food came out quite quickly once we did order. The food itself was great! First time here. Met someone for a light breakfast. It's a decent-looking place. There are plenty of spots to sit, including tables, booths, or a bar. There are some windows in the front that offer natural light, but I would have preferred more. A couple of TVs are mounted on the walls showing daytime TV programs (not a fan of those either). Got a booth by the front wall. We received our waters and placed orders for yogurt parfaits. The food came out in short order. There was a good amount of yogurt, fruit, granola, and a bit of honey drizzle. The presentation looked like someone was in a big hurry (maybe arrange the different parts together instead of piling everything on?) Our server was efficient but not especially friendly -- not much of a greeting or a smile. Maybe they were having a bad day? I recently went to this establishment. The atmosphere is nice. The service was fast and friendly. The food was delicious and you receive a lot for the price. I had the homemade corned beef hash with scrambled eggs and red potatoes. I had sour dough bread too. It all was good and I brought a lot home for another meal. Sunday was buusssyyyy! I want to give them props for the amount of people that came into this restaurant while we were there!! The ladies at the bar were friendly. It was pretty evident that the team could have used a few more servers and maybe an extra hand or two in the kitchen. I'd be willing to give them a try again, maybe not during their after-church-rush though. We came in for a 4 top, and were told 15-20 minutes for the wait, just after Noon. Some time had passed the host flagged me down, noticing that we hadn't been seated yet -- he seemed very confused, chatted with a server, and told me it would be just a bit longer. We ended up getting seated at about the 45 minute mark, but it was fine because we knew what we were going to order. The server was somewhat understandably short with us at first (again it was soooo busy!) -- about 10 minutes after getting seated, she asked if we were ready to order drinks and we replied that we were and would be ready to order the meals, too. She was a tad gruff in saying drinks first and she's come back for the entrees. It wasn't terribly long after that she came back with drinks and took our orders. I would get the avocado toast again. The peppers flakes on it were an addition I'd never thought to add before! I failed to read that the eggs come runny -- yuck but that was totally on me! My husband liked them just fine. Hah! The Spiked Rootbeer was pretty bland... more whipped cream than anything else. Pancakes were a hit at the table!! We did have to ask for a few of the sides that were forgotten, but when they came out they were fresh. The lead or the manager was annoyed when we asked if one of the three TVs we could see from our table would possibly have the Brewers game on. Totally okay!! But the tude behind the response was visible whether she meant it to be, behind the bar, or not. Also, West Bend, I witnessed some pretty gross behavior towards the server, who I believe was really doing her best during the few hours we were there -- snapping fingers, huffing about, rolling eyes... Went here for Lunch with my dad and it was very tasty. I had the brunch burger, it was perfect cooked and very flavorful. The staff was very friendly and on top of things. Food has gone down in quality, at least for lunch. Rubin lacked a good kraut, cheese wasn't much better and corned beef lacked taste. BLT was better for sure but could use more tomato. Our go to place after church did not disappoint! Stephanie was not our server but she immediately brought us 2 coffees and the Caramel Chocolate creamer my wife enjoys. I was distracted and Sarah took my wife's walker to the hostess stand for me. Our server, Michelle, was very busy, but took the time to acknowledge us and returned soon thereafter. My mom and I went in for breakfast. There was no wait and we were seated right away. I had the breakfast quesafilla, fruit and coffee. My mom had salmon and eggs, fruit, pancakes and coffee. We came shortly before noon and the lot was packed. As we waited for a table, the server behind the bar, invited us to sit down and gave us menus to view. We waited less than 10 minutes and we were seated at a nice table by a window. Our server was busy when we were seated but another server took our drink order and another bought out our drinks very quickly. Our server was Alyssa who was very friendly and attentive. We ordered a Rubin with soup, strawberry pancakes and an entree salad. The soup tasted home made and was delicious. My wife said her salad was delicious and brought half of it home since it was so big. Our grandkids loved the pancakes and cleaned their plates. Everything was prepared well and all of us enjoyed our food. I am surprised that some Yelp reviews were low but this is a new place and it takes time for a restaurant to click. I find one thing many resultants lack is a good server, yet (Amanda) ours today was above average and probably the best I had in a long time. The food was just ok: I would not suggest a burger based on my visit. It was no more than ok I liked it had veggies and toppings (pickles lettuce tomatoes) available on the side yet it lacked flavor. You get a lot of French fry's but they seemed like frozen basic fries. The cinnamon roll French toast was good and interesting as they sliced a cinnamon roll to be cooked like French toast. I would get this if/when we go back. I was advised the omelet was not so good by someone in my party yet they liked the jam for the toast. The bacon was undercooked to our liking but had good flavor. The fresh fruit was indeed fresh and we would suggest this as a side it was a good serving size. One would ask if we advised them the food was not to our liking and we did not, I would think they would serve there best to every guest and there is no need to remake or ask for discount on something. read more

Service was excellent, food not so good. There were egg shells in my hollandaise, which was also broken (the egg and butter and separated). The potatoes were raw (Like raw and warmed). They probably should ditch the "homemade hash browns" they are going for which are like baby red potatoes sliced into a tiny French fry shape and probably take forever to cook through. Not ideal for a breakfast place. Everyone's food at our table just lacked seasoning-- salt would go a long way. The fruit is perfectly ripe, and the house made raspberry jam is scrumptious. Spouse got an omelet with the potatoes and toast option. I got the eggs Benedict and potatoes. The potatoes were perfect. Cut into julienned pieces, they are lightly seasoned and cooked just to tenderness, neither over nor under cooked. Business' payments to card companies is / has always been a part of doing business. Resolution is pretty simple actually. Either eat the cost, as has always been, or do not accept cards. I came in with my twin babies and my 6 yr old son. Service was awesome, someone greeted us right away and sat us where I asked to be seated even tho it was busy. We ordered pancakes which my son ate, cinnamon roll pancakes (delish), and patty melt meal. They brought out ranch which is awesome, I love the ranch here, and a bowl of fruit which the babies ate.
