The wife and I stopped in for a late afternoon lunch and were seated at a nice booth by the window. The inside of Flipside is very nice and looks like a great place to meet & visit with friends and family. The wait staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, I asked about the baby back ribs and was told that this was one of the chef's specialties. They were okay, however, not good enough for me to recommend. (Three Stars at best). I did like the crock of French Onion Soup with a pretzel roll. Quite tasty and a winner for flavor. (four and 1/2 stars). The cheesy potatoes were dry and smothered with corn flakes. Ugh.... (Two Stars). I liked the garlic toast. The wife ordered the Philly Burger on a Gluten Free bun. She thought the bun was very good, but the burger was overcooked, a bit dry and lacked flavor. In hindsight, she said that she should have told the waiter she wanted it cooked "medium" She loved the coleslaw. Overall, The Flip Side seems like a good restaurant that does a great job serving and supporting the local community. We noticed kid's from the nearby high school drinking sodas and enjoying each other's company. Great Ambiance - Lots of light and comfortable I'm guessing that Flip Side is better for breakfast than lunch or dinner. Although not crowded on this late winter afternoon, we did notice that all the customers seemed to be enjoying themselves. read more

Nice place for breakfast. Our server Ayiana was just the best. Greeted us with a beautiful smile, took our orders and when she returned with our food, that smile was still there. I had the Butcher Shop skillet with only one egg, no Hollandaise sauce add salsa. Their salsa was a nice corn and bean dark roasted tomatoes salsa that was very tasty flavorful. Other items were, 2 poached eggs with turkey sausage and toast (not pictured), 2 eggs over easy with bacon, toast and hash browns. It's a big place, so you're not on top of other customers and you can easily hold a conversation at your table. All meals were simply delicious. read more

Another well deserved 5 star rating for Flipside in Grafton! If you're in the mood for homemade soups, Flipside is where you need to order from. Their soups change with the seasons and are always exceptionally good. Right now (summertime), they have Chicken Noodle, French Onion and Chili available. I could eat any of the three for the rest of my life, they're THAT good. I've also had their chicken dumplings soup and have seen chowders on their menu as well, so there's a soup for everyone at Flipside! My kiddo is pretty picky and even she loves the soups here :) OK, I've raved enough about Flipside's soups Along with their homemade chicken noodle soup, on this most recent visit, my daughter ordered the Denver Omelette (her favorite & the only omelette she'll eat) and I had the Chicken Caesar wrap. Again, one of the best caesar wraps in all of Ozaukee County. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the flavor was amazing. The lettuce and croutons were crispy and delish. The dressing was creamy, tangy and savory. If you're hungry, and want some fresh, delicious home cooked meals without doing the work yourself, you really can't go wrong at Flipside. In the short time I've lived in Ozaukee County, they've been a favorite for my entire household. I highly recommend and encourage everyone to stop by this restaurant at least once if you're in the area! By the time we ordered we sat for 40 minutes without receiving our food. Never checked on once, drinks were empty. When we noticed 3 tables that ordered after us get their food, we asked for the hostest to check on our food, because we couldn't get out waitresses attention. The hostess was dismissive and just said "well" and walked away. Honestly all we needed was an apology and an "let me check on it." Will never return here again. read more

A neighbor took me to Flipside for my birthday. I had the caramel apple waffle and OMG! It was better than a birthday cake! This delicious warm apple cinnamon covered in whipped cream creation should be marketed as A BIRTHDAY EXTRAVAGANZA! Everyone should order it instead of birthday cake with bacon (although my Service dog ate the bacon and wouldn't even share it with me -- LOL)! I did not expect a waffle covering the plate, topped with whipped cream to arrive at the table. My eyes almost popped out of my head when I realized it was my order! Then, I tasted it and floated away on clouds of birthday bliss as angels sang a private rendition of the Hallelujah Chorus in A Minor (very difficult to do)! My neighbor said that part never happened but I swear I heard it! The restaurant is clean and comfy. The service was friendly and prompt. We went on their busiest day -- Sunday. The staff was working well together to ensure the customers had a great dining experience. The food is not fancy but it's good. It's a great place to take well behaved children and my service dog was not questioned. There's a private room for larger groups and I'm told that most Sundays are extremely busy. The let's were good and the value is wonderful. You can afford to take a friend or family or to eat here without mortgaging your home! Be sure u check the hours before you drop in, as with most restaurants, they are not open all day! I love that this is a neighborhood restaurant that I can frequent by walking. I also love that the gym is right across the street because this food will make me have to live on the treadmill!!! While I love this place, the food is amazing and normally service is wonderful. Today, the waiter we had, was awful. It started out where it took over five minutes to even have someone come to our table after we were sat. I finally made eye contact with a waitress, and she got a male waiter to take our table. All four of asked for water and coffee. He brought two waters, two coffees. Asked for more other coffees, bright that, but still not our other waters. Ordered food. Finally comes, most of it. Husband only got half his meal. Asked for the rest, nothing. Finally ask someone else if we can have the rest of the meal, she gets the waiter. He brings fried eggs and toast. Hubby had ordered scrambled eggs and wheat toast. Send first plate back, and waiter comments "you guys are killing me" brings back scrambled eggs and white toast. Hubby just ate, but we knew it was someone else's order he just grabbed. Hostess comes and says she'd take the bill and our card up to finish our check. She's not dressed in appropriate attire to represent her position. It's always a tshirt and leggings, sloppy looking like she just doesn't care. After about 5 mins or so, she finally brings the check back with our card. Just very unprofessional today. Very disappointed. Never had a problem before, but today just seemed like everyone was high on weed or something. Get it together people and do your job. The food itself was extremely mid. The service was decent. However the hostess had the temperament of a DMV clerk at 8 am on a Monday. The ambiance was less than mid unfortunately. The carpet looked like it hadn't been changed since George Bush (senior) was in office and the whole restaurant just looked like someone took a piss on the walls and they never cleaned it up. First thing I noticed when we arrived was how clean and inviting the restaurant was. We some how managed to beat the Sunday morning rush and we're seated right away. Our server was pleasant throughout the visit. The food was good. I had the hearty breakfast sandwich and it was better than I expected. The ciabatta roll was fresh, the eggs well cooked, good flavor in the sausage patty. The only thing I would change is the American cheese. It's not my favorite, but that's a personal preference. My boyfriend had the potato cake Benny. He said it was good, but nothing exciting. It was also pretty small and didn't come with any sides. Not sure I'd say it was worth the price. The mimosa was good. We'll be back and are looking forward to trying more items off the menu. I'd say it worth a stop to check them out. read more

On my get away weekend and treating my niece to breakfast wow what a great place to go. Seems like a popular place by the number of diners on a Friday morning almost 9 o'clock hour. Wide variety of choices and sure to please every palate. Tough decisions on what to have. I settled for the Dairy Land Omelette with cheese curds green peppers and onions. Hearty fold in of Curds and tots. Recommended side of tots was delicious perfectly crisp and crunchy. Cinnamon toast adequate not large pieces but perfect with the filling omelette and tots. Coffee hot and plentiful. Attentive and friendly waitress who checked to be sure all was delicious and any further needs. Stopped in for an early brunch. They are on of the few places open early on weekends. They have a breakfast buffet but I really had a hankering for a waffle. I got the razzle dazzle raspberry waffle and a side of hash browns. My friend got the classic eggs Benedict. The service was quick and friendly. My coffee cup never dropped below half before someone would stop by to fill it back up. Standard diner coffee, but it was fresh and hot. I'm a wee bit of a coffee snob. Our food arrived fairly quick and it was nice and hot. It looked great too! Seriously check out the picture! My waffle was everything I was hoping for and more. There was some sort of creamy filling inside of it underneath the chocolate, raspberries, and whipped cream. I tried my friends eggs Benedict and it was good but the hollandaise sauce was most likely a mix. Would've given them five stars easily but oddly they wouldn't serve me a medium rare steak for my steak and eggs. Apparently due to a few issues they've experienced in the past they now have a firm policy of offering their steak only medium well and well done. I was craving steak and eggs, so I relented and ordered it medium well. Wasn't terrible since the over-easy eggs,home potatoes and toast were very good, but the smallish steak was a miss. read more

I am very impressed. I stopped by Thursday afternoon. They have some delightful menu choices especially in waffle and french toast options that were VERY UNUSUAL and DELIGHTFUL. I had one which was wonderful and I have to go back and try more. Large menu with many choices. Yes they have friday fish fry. That's important in Wisconsin. Restaurant was incredibly clean. I have been to Flipside many times. The servers are fast and their menu is large. Salads are large and always fresh. Nice family atmosphere.

As it relates to Covid they reuse the paper menus. The whole point of those menus is to help prevent the spread of germs. At least the laminated menus can be cleaned. I visited last week with one of the Usual Suspects from my Sunday morning breakfast adventures. On Phil G.'s advice, I ordered the. Dairyland Omelette, the Usual Suspect ordered Mac & Cheese. The Dairyland Omelette was loaded with cheese and had a slight smoky taste to it. To say I enjoyed it would be an understatement. The omelette contains bacon, sauteed onions, green peppers, potato chunks, cheese curds and for an exclamation point, there is a slab of American cheese melted on top of it all. It's served with a side of sour cream, your choice of potatoes and toast. It's far more food than I can eat in one sitting. The mac & cheese is a huge serving in a large bowl that is probably used for a chef's salad. The pasta is curly, the melted cheese is abundant. The Usual Suspect reports that it's the best mac & cheese he has ever had, and he invited me to try a forkful as he was stealing a bite of Dairyland Omelette. I concur, the mac & cheese is outstanding and worth the drive to Grafton. I will certainly be back the next time I'm in the area! read more

2nd Place for a Denver Omelet- The highlight of this newly found cafe is the curteous service! Every interaction with various staff members was pleasant and attentive. Continuous coffee and drink refills without asking is always a plus! The food-- I'm going to say it's now my second favorite place for a Denver omelet. Cheesy and packed with the essentials like ham and mushrooms made for a second place trophey. Not to mention their cinnamon applesauce. It reminded me of my Grandmothers fried apples from growing up. Atmosphere is airy with lots of windows. Oh, and they were very clean. There was a server walking around constantly with a rag to clean up any necessary messes after meals were taken away. Got pick up service tonight and had the patty melt and the chive fries. Both were excellent and the patty melt honestly may have been the best one I have ever had, not drowned in grilled onions, the perfect balance of everything and the servers were as super friendly. Will Def be back! read more
