First time here. Came with a friend to get a beverage and pastry. It was mid-morning on a Monday, and the place was just starting to get busy. Food: They have an extensive offering of coffees, lattes, teas, and other specialty drinks. You can also get breakfast or lunch sandwiches, soups, and salads. They didn't have a London Fog Tea Latte on the menu, but they were happy to make me one, in a mug, with whole milk, lavender, and vanilla. They took enough time to properly steep the Earl Grey tea bag and added a good amount of frothed milk. It was flavorful and at just the right temperature, 140°F. Good job! They make all their own bakery items, and everything in the case at the counter looked freshly baked. I ended up getting an amazing-looking blueberry scone. It had a great texture, with a nice glaze on top. It would have been even better if it had been warmed up. They didn't offer, and I never asked. (Next time.) It was a perfect companion to the London Fog. Service: The place was starting to get busy, but we never felt like we were being rushed through the ordering process. Both people behind the counter were genuinely friendly and helpful. After placing your order, you get an electronic buzzer that lets you know when your order is ready. The food was done before the drinks, so we ended up going down a couple of times. A single buzz when the entire order was ready would have been fine. Atmosphere: The place has either a window from the sidewalk where you can order, or you can walk inside to order. There are a few tables in the same area where you order, or you can choose from additional seating in a room down the hall, upstairs, or take it outside. Lots of options. We decided on upstairs, which was a bit quieter. They have games that you can play at your table, which we saw people taking advantage of. I was utterly charmed by this darling coffee shop nestled in downtown Port Washington. My husband and I were headed on a day trip to Green Bay when we were in need of a bite and some caffeine for the road. Enter Java Dock Cafe. I ordered a bagel and one of their specialty lattes, assuming I'd have to take it to go as their space is so small and there weren't any tables that I could see. I was wrong! They have an adorable dining space on the second floor. If you're able to navigate a flight of stairs, you can definitely enjoy your coffee and bites in house. The asiago bagel and cream cheese was toasted and delicious. The latte was lovely and the service was wonderful. Zero complaints. I would definitely stop in here the next time I'm in the area. I like to bike to coffee shops near Cedarburg and this year I discovered the Java Dock Cafe in Port Washington. When you walk in you will see a smaller area where you order...it's cute but be sure you go upstairs....You will find a large, bright, tasteful room with lots of tables and lots of windows. The Oatmilk Latte I got was good and the Raspberry scone delish. They also have a few outdoor tables and a walk up order window. Most importantly, all of the employees seemed to care (you can tell). The Java Dock Cafe is not on the main downtown street (it's around the corner) so be sure you don't miss it. read more

A friendly small coffee house with a variety of roasters (Valentine, Anodyne, Collectivo, Stone Creek). The Scones are are not overly sweet and taste fresh out of the oven. I would visit more often if they started offering a tasty egg and bacon breakfast sandwich. There is a walk up window, seating outside and indoor upstairs. read more

I like this place, they make a mean espresso! We were out for a long bike ride on the Interurban Trail, and on the way back.. just knew it was time for some Ice Cream. And then some coffee No, we didn't get the ice cream here.. that was across the street. Pay attention, this is a coffee shop! It's kind of funky (in a good way) the way a coffee shop should be.. not chain like at all. You can get service by walking up to the service window near the out door seating area. We didn't do that.. we had an ulterior motive to go inside... bathrooms! So the first floor is tiny with more than half the shop being work space. I ordered a double espresso and got an excellent and intense bit of coffee from the friendly dude behind the counter. Java Dock is really the only coffee shop in Port. It's such a cool layout, and the staff is always really nice! Recently under new ownership I am hoping for some great improvements. This place seemed to be hurting a couple of months ago. I went twice in the middle of the day to find the place closed because they had no help. Now with plenty of new staff members and added menu selections, I'm excited to visit more often. I own a local business and often meet with my clients here. It's a perfect meeting grounds! read more

They also have a great selection of teas too. I have had some truly amazing bakery here as well as soups. Love the homey area upstairs that has a very casual feel with games and books. Despite other comments, there IS one other coffee shop (soon to be 2 others) in Port--and this is the best one! The staff is friendly and the coffee is great (Alterra coffee and Anodyne espresso--both local). I usually try whatever Latte drink is featured, changed monthly. They also offer a decent selection of organic teas. The turkey is roasted at the shop for sandwiches, and many days you walk in to the scent of the soup simmering from scatch. A new addition is Panini's. I haven't had one, yet, but they do look just as good as the other foods. There is a new owner within the last 4 months or so, but that hasn't seemed to diminish any quality--only improved variety. But the best thing that I like about Java Dock has been their community involvement, and after speaking with the new owner, he intends to keep it that way, even adding an open guitar night on Mondays. read more

Nice environment. They were playing reggae (set a good vibe) and coffee was good. Their chicken salad was super yummy. It was topped off with sunflower sprouts (I love them). I asked about their ingredients and they get a lot of their stuff from local vendors and farmers. Local milk, local syrups, local veggies, local coffee roasters. I love that!! The owner is incredibly nice and so are the staff. I guess they also have chess night every Monday at 7 pm! read more

Not sure why the reviews aren't higher. This is a good coffee house. Yes, it's small but their coffee is on par with the quality you would expect in a good inner city Java joint that sources their beans from the right places. The roast and flavor were spot on! This is not Starbucks coffee- much better. Also had a scone which was amazing. Head upstairs with your coffee and enjoy a nice place to read or chat. Two thumbs up for sure. Only drawback I could see is if you stop in during a busy time. Not sure they are equipped to handle a big morning rush. read more
