    Snowy owl (seasonal specialty coffee)

I was utterly charmed by this darling coffee shop nestled in downtown Port Washington. My husband and I were headed on a day trip to Green Bay when we were in need of a bite and some caffeine for the road. Enter Java Dock Cafe. I ordered a bagel and one of their specialty lattes, assuming I'd have to take it to go as their space is so small and there weren't any tables that I could see. I was wrong! They have an adorable dining space on the second floor. If you're able to navigate a flight of stairs, you can definitely enjoy your coffee and bites in house. The asiago bagel and cream cheese was toasted and delicious. The latte was lovely and the service was wonderful. Zero complaints. I would definitely stop in here the next time I'm in the area. Get to it!

    Spacious, cute upstairs!

I like to bike to coffee shops near Cedarburg and this year I discovered the Java Dock Cafe in Port Washington. When you walk in you will see a smaller area where you order...it's cute but be sure you go upstairs....You will find a large, bright, tasteful room with lots of tables and lots of windows. The Oatmilk Latte I got was good and the Raspberry scone delish. They also have a few outdoor tables and a walk up order window. Most importantly, all of the employees seemed to care (you can tell). The Java Dock Cafe is not on the main downtown street (it's around the corner) so be sure you don't miss it.

You can almost miss this nice place in Port Washington. We came on a Monday morning, and landed here since there were limited options. We enjoyed the breakfast burritos and scones, as well as some crafty coffee drinks. The upstairs is indeed a nice quiet place.

A friendly small coffee house with a variety of roasters (Valentine, Anodyne, Collectivo, Stone Creek). The Scones are are not overly sweet and taste fresh out of the oven. I would visit more often if they started offering a tasty egg and bacon breakfast sandwich. There is a walk up window, seating outside and indoor upstairs.

My kind of place.. some treats and other beverages.. a window to serve the folks outside (not a drive up!)

The café occupies one end of the building. I stopped in with a friend for an early lunch, and what a great surprise this turned out to be. Food: Their menu contains regular items as well as some R&D (Research and Development) selections. R&D items are not your typical flavor combinations and are great choices if you like trying different things. We got a couple of hot beverages. My friend ordered the hot chocolate, and I decided to try the special Carrot Cake Chai (with fresh carrots and spices). The hot chocolate was expertly made. It was rich, had excellent foam, and featured special latte art. The Carrot Cake Chai had strong flavor and a wonderful creamy texture. It was a bit sweet for my tastes (and I like sweet), and I didn't finish it. I talked to the barista, and they said they could easily adjust the sweetness level by using one less pump of the syrup. For food, I got the Wisco Avocado Toast, and my friend ordered the Devil Egg Salad Sandwich. My toast was good, with a generous amount of fresh avocado. The grape tomatoes were flavorful, but there was a bit too much of the chili crisp seasoning. The side salad was a small mix of lettuce with a few sliced radishes. My friend really enjoyed the egg salad. It was fresh, flavorful, had the right amount of mayo, and came in a good portion. Service: Super friendly service from the staff. I got a lot of helpful suggestions from the person taking the order, and the barista did an amazing job with the drinks. They give you a number and deliver your meal to your table. Food and drinks came out in a reasonable amount of time. Atmosphere: This place has a terrific layout. You can choose from several different seating areas. Some are set up for a quick meal, while others, like the upstairs area, feel more like a lounge. We sat in the back where there is a couch and several high-top tables. The place has an upscale yet casual feel to it. Before leaving, I picked up several of their sample packs of the most popular sauces: dark, white, and caramel. They will make great gifts for friends. Definitely a place worth checking out or visiting again.

I ordered a white hot chocolate & the "Lucky Pig" French Toast Bake bowl, and my husband ordered a regular hot chocolate & the Breakfast Champion bowl. Now, I love a good white hot chocolate (prefer it over normal hot cocoa), and maybe I set my expectations a little too high, but I found the white hot chocolate here was lacking flavor. Texture was creamy and frothy, and it was served in a nice ceramic mug, but I was disappointed that it looked better than it tasted. Their regular hot chocolate, on the other hand, was incredibly rich and flavorful. Smooth, velvety, divine chocolatey goodness. The bowls were also fantastic. The individual elements in the Lucky Pig bowl were each absolutely delicious. Together? A symphony in the mouth. Although initially I thought the portion was a tad small, it was plenty. The gingerbread brioche French toast bake was fluffy, spiced perfectly, and pleasingly sweet. The healthy helping of almond mascarpone cream that topped the bake was not overly sweet or tart, but had the right amount of cool, sweet tang with a delicate almond flavor. And the raspberry creme purée with almond streusel I could eat by the spoonful, it was that good. My husband found his Breakfast bowl to be equally satisfying, noting that his favorite part was the sausage & bacon crumble, which added the right amount of smokey-salty flavor to the whole dish. There were other things on the menu we'd like to try but that would be for future visits. We definitely will be back.

I had a Mint-Vanilla Au Lait (seasonal) and it was nice and drinkable. The mint was more of a scent than a flavor, so the iced beverage hit the spot on this hot summer morning! I prefer this Fiddleheads to the local Colectivo and they're about 2 blocks apart. Go here if you want a quick coffee.

My mom ordered a latte and the coffee itself has a sour taste which I've heard from others too! It was a $7 latte and she ended up tossing it. All of their flavored syrups are the Monin brand so nothing homemade and very artificial tasting. I ordered a bagel and it was $5, and it came with a Jif PB packet and Smuckers jelly. I wish they would at least have homemade jam or a peanut butter that doesn't have terrible fillers and oil in its product. I then asked for cream cheese and it also came in a packet. The bagel ended up being hard after 20 minutes and I had to toss. The prices are so overpriced for the quality.

Food: I checked online before coming, and they have an impressive list of drinks, both hot and cold. We ordered a couple of lattes. Mine was a London Fog Tea Latte (a little lavender, a little vanilla) in a mug, and hers was a Coffee Vanilla Latte with almond milk. They did a great job with both of them. My London Fog had great flavor, well-textured foam, and was a good temperature. They did leave the tea bag in, which might be their standard practice, but I prefer the tea to be fully steeped and then have the bag removed. Otherwise, removing the bag later messes with all the wonderful foam (next time I would ask). Each of us got a scone. Mine was blueberry, and hers was white chocolate raspberry, warmed up and plated. Both were very good. If I had to be completely honest, these scones are more like muffins than traditional scones. However, they were both delicious. Service: As soon as we walked up to the counter, it was nothing but friendly vibes and helpful service. They stepped us through the details of the order ("whole milk okay, how much flavor, etc."). They didn't rush the orders and took their time getting them right. When the bakery items were heated up, they brought them to our table. I always got the feeling that they truly appreciated us being there. Atmosphere: The building is a quaint, wonderfully maintained historic brick building. There are café tables outside that would be great on a warmer day. When you enter, you are taken back in time. The vibe is authentic and relaxed. Much of the interior looks like it may be from long ago. It's a bit cluttered, which could be distracting, but I think it fits. There are enough windows to bring in a good amount of natural light. The counter has a large array of pastries, muffins, cookies, etc. The main area doesn't have a lot of seating, and I did find it a bit loud. There is a separate seating area toward the back with several more tables and much less noise, which is where we sat. A very good first visit. Would definitely come back again.
