I am so grateful to have such a delicious dinner spot nearby! I have been here a handful of times now and continue to have the best experience! The vibe is on point, low lighting, rustic - a versatile spot to go with girlfriends or for a date night. The wait staff is always attentive and informational, providing suggestions when we are looking for guidance on what to choose. This time around I went with a girlfriend and we decided to share a couple apps and an entre. We started with their seasonal burrata that was bursting with flavor. It was both savory and citrusy, a really nice compliment. We did have to order a side of bread with it, so that's one improvement the restaurant could make - bread is a necessity with a cheese dish! Next up we ordered their Mixed Greens Salad which was a perfect light & tangy salad with a little bit of sweetness. Highly recommend. Finally, we shared the seared walleye entree. I pretty much order fish everytime I come here because they cook it to perfection and it's something I can't make at home as easily. Hands down my fave eatery in Cedarburg. Vibes are immaculate, service is so kind and attentive, food is fabulous, and drink options are plentiful. I recently visited for the third time, and had a wonderful night with my friend. We were sat at a two-top and quickly tended to. I'm on the dry January train to opted for one of their NA cocktails. It was tasty, but I wouldn't be jumping to order it again. Next time, wine. We started the mixed salad and burrata to start. The balsamic on the salad was delish, and I'm a blue cheese fan so loved that. Also lots of flavor in the burrata dish, with citrus marmalade and rainbow carrots. It's peculiar that they don't serve bread along with it, so we did need to order a side of that separately. We also split an entree, going for the seared walleye. Also very enjoyable. The green apple slaw and apple butter sauce were the perfect flavorings. Though a great dish, I feel like it was priced a bit higher than necessary. Great recommendation from a few people for a restaurant to try in Cedarburg! We went right when it opened but it got pretty busy by the time we were leaving so I recommend making a reservation. There are a few different seating options inside along with an outdoor patio depending on how lively you want the atmosphere to be. We started with the focaccia that was light and airy and then ordered a bolognese and dashi shrimp pasta dish. The menu changes frequently based on what ingredients they have and what's in season. First time at Brandywine tonight. My friend ordered the Chilean Seabass over Sardinian couscous, and I had a bite of it. The seabass was amazing! It had a buttery flavor and great texture! I ordered one of tonight's specials, Seaweed Bucatini with shrimp, scallop, halibut, swordfish, and mussels (out of the shells) in a spicy tomato sauce that I didn't find spicy, but was good nonetheless. It was a great dish. I appreciated the creativity of using seaweed to make the bucatini pasta dough. I could definitely taste the seaweed, but in a good way. Seafood was all cooked well. Great execution on the dish! We shared the Rosemary Sourdough Focaccia, which was perfectly crisp and delicious, and we received great service from Jackie! I would come back and recommend! read more

Brandywine is 1 of the best restaurants in the USA in my opinion, seriously. On about 30 dinners there it has been from very good to exceptional. Seafood, chicken, beef (pork when on the menu) is the way to go. 1 time chicken was under cooked and immediately re-cooked. Front room is loud and back room is quiet. read more

Brandywine is a small restaurant in Cedarburg with an even smaller patio, but definitely not one to pass up! We went for a birthday and I loved the little touch of a "happy birthday" sign on the table. We ordered the rosemary sourdough focaccia which was so delicious and a big portion, they basically give you a whole loaf. I got the chicken piccata & my Nana got the salmon (daily special). Both were so delicious! There aren't a ton of options on the menu but it was just the perfect amount of choices. Our waitress was really sweet and even sang a little for my Nana's birthday lol. I've been to Brandywine three times now in the past two years. The service is always top notch. Friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The ambiance is nice. It is a bit dark, but not too loud, and the bathrooms are clean. I have never been able to sit outside but that patio looks really nice. The food has always been delicious. While they do not list any vegan options on the menu the chef has always been able to create a vegan dish that is fresh and flavorful and delicious. However there were no vegan dessert options if that matters. All in all it's a great restaurant and I look forward to coming back next year when I am in town. read more

Was a truly great experience overall. I got the focaccia for an appetizer which was the best focaccia I've ever had. It had a nice crispiness and the oil okay the side was grand. I'm addition to this I had the ravioli which was delightful. The cheese melted in my mouth and it was greatly paired with balsamic and hazelnuts. I ate outside on the patio and it was very cute. I had a great birthday dinner here! What a nice option to have downtown cedarburg! Pro tip, definitely get a reservation as soon as you know you want to go. We had the goat cheese curds and they were good! The cheese curds were underwhelming, but the mushrooms and aloli were top notch! They made it definitely worth it. Then my husband got the English pea pasta and it was good, more of a comfort food. I got the tortellini and it was amazing! So flavorful and delicious! I was introduced to Brandywine at Ray's Wuckfinter, where they served up some heavenly arancini with black garlic sauce. I was determined to visit after trying them and reading their current menu, BF and I drove to Cedarburg and met my parents for dinner on a Friday evening. Their hours are limited and you need a reservation. Enter through the back, where there is also a small parking lot. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable, with chic elements. It is a bit dark - we struggled to read the menus in the limited light. Service was friendly and good, attentive without being overbearing. All of our cocktails were good and very creative. We started with goat cheese curds, with oyster mushrooms, apple, kohlrabi, lime aioli and Calabrian chili honey, which were amazing. We also shared an order of Rosemary Sourdough Focaccia with grilled focaccia, honey and lavender Driftless cheese spread, roasted garlic oil, and green tomato brown butter. The accompaniments are all extraordinary. I had the Goat Cheese Mezzaluna with mushroom brodo, yuzu kosho, cipollini onion, hen-of-the-woods mushrooms, pickled peppers, and pistachio. I got it without the prosciutto to have a vegetarian meal that was complex, fresh and citrusy. It was excellent. BF had the Campanelle Nero di Seppia with Hawaiian white shrimp, saffron cream, caramelized fennel, tomato and fennel pollen. He enjoyed it alot. The pasta was impressive and the fennel really came forward in the dish. His shrimp were fresh and toothy. My mom had the Pork Osso Buco with saffron risotto, braised dandelion greens, pine nuts, gremolata and tomato jus. She loved it. It cut with a fork. My dad enjoyed a beef ravioli special they had on offer that night and finished it in record time. This is really good food and worth a drive. Delicious, high quality food and service! My girl friends and I went to Brandywine for our dinner during ladies weekend. What a beautiful place! It was great for going and having a drink and dinner with friends, but would also be perfect for a date night! We split a bottle of champagne and then I had the cavatelli with ricotta and pomodora sauce -- it was AMAZING! My meal was bright, rich in flavor, and the little pasta were so yummy -- I finished it all! My friends had the steak, carpaccio and mushroom soup de jour and loved it all. We have been here twice now, and I feel like it warrants a review! I dont recall the exact food we got the first time, so I'll focus on one second experience. We arrived and were seated in the front area by the door. It has a bit of a cozy library vibe, and we could see the patio area behind us (not open yet when we went). It did end up getting a little loud in the small space after a large group arrived and was seated next to us, but nothing too bad. For starters, I got the cauliflower soup and hubs got the caesar salad. Both were very good. I got the sweet potato gnocchi, and hubs got the bavette steak special. Both meals were plated beautifully and tasted great as well. To finish, we got 2 different flavors of ice cream - maple and blueberry/lavender. The maple was great, the lavender was good but very heavily floral (hubs loves that kind of thing so he ate it all!). We will for sure come back here again. Price wise I think everything is fair and makes for a good date night spot. read more

The only complaint we had was it was quite drafty where we were sitting and we both got cold while dining. We had made a reservation for 5:45 and were told when we sat down that the table was ours until 7:15 which I thought was interesting. I am gluten free and was thrilled they had options for me and could make changes to certain dishes to accommodate. Overall great experience and food was amazing! I would go out of my way for another dinner at Brandywine. This place has it all: creative and delicious food, a beautiful patio, and kind service. If it wasn't for a couple small misses, I'd easily have given them five stars. We enjoyed an early dinner on their spacious and nicely decorated patio in late spring. It was a little chilly that evening, but they had ample heaters to make us comfortable. Our server was friendly, giving us just the right amount of attention to enjoy our evening, as well as great advice on our orders. The menu here is relatively small but wonderfully diverse. There were also several specials the evening we were there - coupled with a comment from our server that she picked the rhubarb in one of the desserts from her garden, and a lot of seasonal veggies throughout the menu, I'm guessing that the offering are strongly driven by what's available and fresh nearby. Our food was so delicious! Between the four of us, we had the mushroom risotto special (with morels!!!), miso salmon, sourdough rigatoni, and Brandywine burger, plus the brown butter cake and buttermilk panna cotta for dessert. The salmon and rigatoni were particular highlights: both the flavor of and cook on the salmon were outstanding, and the rigatoni was probably the best pasta dish I've had in years! The chef incorporates ground sourdough bread into the pasta, and together with the beautiful lamb bolognese and cheese plus the kick of the chili oil, it was perfection in a bowl. Just a couple small things were out of place. We subbed Brussels sprouts for fries on the burger, and they were a bit undercooked. The panna cotta was delicious, but wasn't quite set as much as I would have liked. That said, neither of these things would hold me back from returning. The next time in WI, another dinner at Brandywine is top on my list of to-do's! read more

Brandywine is a great special occasion date night spot- well worth the drive from Milwaukee! The menu rotates regularly to showcase seasonal dishes. They also have extensive wine, beer, and martini lists. Service is attentive but not annoying. I sat outside in their garden and started with their rosemary sourdough focaccia and espresso martini. I moved onto their summer squash pasta which was light yet filling. All of their pasta is homemade so do not skip this course! I chose a nice glass of wine and homemade dessert to end my night. Tried to come here last year and they were booked so we made reservations and came yesterday! It's really cute in here, we liked the aesthetic. It is a little pricey but not crazy for what it is. My siblings and I got some vegetarian starters and sides to share, and my friend and her BF got steaks. Everyone enjoyed their food! I got a chèvre tart that came with a side salad, and foccacia. My sister and brother got salad and a parsnip soup which was amazing. My friend also got a charcuterie board and I tried some of the cheeses. Very good! My tart was the only thing I wasn't wild about, it was just a little bland. But everything else was pretty good! read more

My boyfriend had a squash soup that he said was very well balanced, and I had a beet and goat cheese salad, which was great also! The highlight for me was the pork chop, which was a seasonal option and came with green beans, and a sweet and salty bacon & pistachio butter sauce that really blew me away. Our second time dining and while the food was delicious, we were shocked when asked to leave by our server. A very large group awaited seating and I guess our small table was needed. The server apologized but in no uncertain terms we were asked to please finish up and skedaddle. (Luckily we hadn't ordered dessert!) Maybe this is on account of the restaurant's popularity but we've never experienced that sort of patron management. Usually it's the inverse where we've had to wait for a table to free up despite having a reservation. To make matters worse, the group waiting loudly wished us goodbye as we headed out the door. I asked one of them if they'd had to wait a very long time. He said no, actually, a bunch of them arrived early. All in all a very shaming experience. read more

There is obviously a great attention to detail given at Brandywine. We were so impressed with Brandywine. My group and I split the Brussels sprouts, focaccia, short rib special, primavera pasta special, and the sweet potato pasta. Everything we had was truly fantastic. Each dish was incredibly unique and we spent time dissecting all of the different flavors of each. The pasta was amazing and you could tell was fresh. The ravioli (sweet potato dish) was a really thick pasta which was great! I really couldn't choose a favorite of the meals we enjoyed. We were celebrating two birthday so they generously gave our table a homemade ice cream. I wish I could remember the details but it had bourbon, caramel and some sort of nut in it. It was fabulous. We also enjoyed the panned cotta which was very rich, but paired with their olive oil ice cream which cut the richness a bit. While it's a bit expensive compared to other restaurants in the area, it's worth every penny. I would highly recommend Brandywine for any foodie out there! read more

My family came here for dinner last week after hearing great reviews, and this place did not disappoint! We sat outside in the back and it was a cute sitting area with a great vibe. Tables were spaced nicely and while the service was a bit slow (everywhere is now), the server was great. For apps we had the Grilled Foccacia with an awesome cheese spread, butter and oil. It was very tasty as we all shared the app. Then for dinner I had the Iron Steak that came with fried polenta, fried kale and a Black Truffle jus. It was so good. Steak was perfectly cooked and the polenta was awesome. My 11 year old had the four cheese ravioli, and the ravioli itself was delish. As for the sauce, I will say it was one of the best sauces I have ever had. You could order it on its own and just drink it. The sauce was with toasted hazelnut, Sungold tomato, sweet bell peppers and brown butter emulsion. OMG My 15 year old had the burger and loved it. This is our second visit to Brandywine during Cedarburg's Festive Friday and overall we really enjoyed the experience. I would say our first dinner a year ago was definitely 5/5 as every single dish was spectacular. This time, we were blown away by their truffled tortellini special and goat cheese curds with deep fried mushrooms but a little underwhelmed by the goat cheese ravioli and osso buco.
