Stopped in solo and sat at the bar--what a lovely experience! I ordered the ruby red trout, and it was absolutely over-the-top delicious. The pistachio gravlax and sweet corn were a total chef's kiss--perfectly balanced, fresh, and truly delicious. For dessert, I had an espresso martini paired with a house-made Oreo-style cookie, and every bite (and sip) was just as amazing. Chef Colin even came by to check on me--such a thoughtful touch. You can tell there's genuine care behind the food and the experience. I'll absolutely be back

My husband and I went to the Orville last year for our anniversary and had a wonderful evening. We went to the Norbert this year and it was phenomenal. Ann Marie took excellent care of us. The espresso martini was perfect. We had a variety of small plates, including cheese curds, Brussels sprouts, shrimp, fried chicken, and our favorite, the focaccia. Service and staff cannot be beat, you feel like you are being welcomed into a friend's home. Highly recommend going for a special occasion or just for a night out.

Best dining experience in downtown West Bend. We saw this place on John McGivern's Main Street Show a while ago and decided to come to West Bend from Chicago for a few nights. It was certainly worth the trip. The ambiance is charming and comfortable. We went for dinner on a Saturday with a reservation. When we walked past on Friday and it was totally packed. Saturday also had a good crowd but it was the day before Easter so less people were out. The wine selection was great and we picked the Broadside Cab from Paso Robles. Delicious. Wine prices are also very reasonable in my opinion. Our server was busy so the hostess was kind enough to come over to get us started as we wanted to taste a few wines before picking our bottle. The service at this place is top notch. Our server Ashleigh was delightful, informative and charming. She had great suggestions and we had a wonderful conversation and dining experience. You can't go wrong with any selection from the menu. We started with the fried chicken which was crisp and divine. Then for entrees we ordered the short rib pasta and trout. Both were amazing. No room for desert so we finished our vino and my friend opted for an after dinner old fashioned which was amazing. If in the area certainly make a trip to this fabulous restaurant - you will be glad that you did. Can't wait to come back.

What a beautiful restaurant with wonderful service. The door was opened for us when we arrived. And our server was lovely. The food was good. I didn't think great but good for sure. Our flatbread dough was raw in the middle and the fish fry had almost a too crunchy outside. But the Foccacia was a dream, the flatbread was d topping was awesome, and the ube dessert was delicious.

Great food and atmosphere at the Norbert We got immediately sat for a table of 2 Friday night. Restaurant was busy but not too loud. Food came out very quick and service was great Our favorites were the candied bacon and deviled eggs. The Thai peanut sauce with the bacon was the perfect compliment. Deviled eggs were creamy with a strong marinated flavor. Korean fried chicken was delicious and crispy. Boneless thighs with a creamy buttermilk ranch. Fish tacos were solid but I prefer a thicker crispier breading for fried fish. Brussel sprouts had good char and flavor but I wanted them to be more crispy. Don't skip dessert Bread pudding was amazing. Would recommend choosing the Norbert for your next meal out

We had a great experience and tried many various options from their menu. Plenty to share with friends. our server suggested sharing and she was right. It gave us the opportunity to try so many things and no Tuesdays we were there for the special: buy 3 get the 4th free.

One of my favorite restaurants for casual and interesting food. A more formal restaurant up the road called the Orville.

The bartenders are very attentive and consistent in their weak alcohol pours. Staff- very well trained and personable. The only significant fault is the staff asks at least 5 times during our meal "how is whatever we are eating?" It is annoying and they are consistently interrupting conversation. You can barely take the last bite before they are asking if you are done and can they clear? Definitely makes it difficult to "enjoy" the great food and atmosphere. We eat there almost every week because of the food BUT every time they ask us if we have been there before... we recognize all of them by name but few remember us. Adore the bread and steaks:) Recommendation: Tell the staff to slow down a little ....create the feeling of being welcome instead of checking in so often. It feels chaotic ...

We were seated right away on the second floor at a regular table. There are also some high-tops that were being used for parties of two. Our waitress did a great job getting us waters, menus, and our first drink order. She also let us know what the weekend specials were. We started with the Spinach Artichoke Dip, which was very good. It came with a bunch of pieces of grilled sourdough bread, which complemented the dip nicely. Our drinks were good, though I felt the Golden Hour Paloma was a little underwhelming. For entrées, we ordered the Grilled Salmon, the Orville Salad (with shrimp), the Filet Mignon, and I had the special, "Inferno" -- a grilled tenderloin filet on top of a deep-fried portabella mushroom, served on spinach with a touch of sriracha. While waiting, the server came over to update and apologize for the delay. I only mention this because I really didn't think the wait was unusually long (but I appreciated their attentiveness). After a few more minutes, our food arrived, and it was excellent -- served at good temperatures, with terrific flavors and generous portions. The special (filet on mushroom and spinach) was excellent. The filet was ordered medium rare but came out closer to medium; still, it was very good. The fried mushroom was crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The sauces were an excellent complement and tied everything together. I would definitely order that again. The noise level was good overall, though there were moments -- when seating new tables or during the ordering process -- when it got VERY loud. I wouldn't have wanted that to last the whole time. Throughout the evening, we were well attended to. Friendly, efficient service with great follow-through (thanks, Rachel). The Orville goes on the "Must Come Back To" list. :)

We all have our favorite bartender for mixing a drink a certain way, not sure how I feel about developing loyalty to a machine. The owners did an incredible amount of remodeling to make the Garden Lounge what it is including a poured concrete bar top. A really nice upscale atmosphere for downtown West Bend. A definite worthwhile date night or after dinner destination. There are no windows to the outside, making it the perfect spot to transition from morning coffee into day drinking and being blissfully unaware it's the middle of the day They offer homemade frozen pizzas and a handful of appetizers to boot. We tried the wonton wrapped cheese sticks and rangoons. Both went quite nicely with a few cocktails. Welcome to West Bend Garden Lounge & good luck with your future.

Both my older son and I thought this sounded amazing so we stopped in on a Friday night to try it. We both got fries for our side. The burger was great as expected. Breading and deep frying the lasagna helped prevent it from being a mess and they added enough marinara to give it flavor without overpowering anything. The fries were lightly salted, but were otherwise just boring, plain potato. Apparently 6pm on a Friday is a horrible time to visit Brazen Head Pub if you want to be seated in a reasonable timeframe. My son and I stood there for at least 20 minutes watching a table that was done eating and the gentleman and his credit card in hand, ready to pay if someone would ever stop and give him his bill. While this was going on, another couple at the bar finished their food and sat there for at least 10 minutes waiting for their check. It's almost as if the employees had no desire to turnover tables even with a line at the door including and behind us. There were three people bartending/waiting tables so they had plenty of coverage given the smaller size of the place. At one point, closer to the end of our meal, one of the bartenders looked at my son and I and asked "are you guys good?" as he was literally walking away from us and I was holding up an empty soda glass to show him I'd like a refill. Oddly, he gave me a thumbs up and kept going. I don't even know what to make of that other than poor service. The music that was playing was excessively loud. If it was a live band, I'd get it, that's part of the show and I wouldn't complain. For random music on speakers to drown out all conversations unless you're yelling, that's dumb.
