We were seated right away on the second floor at a regular table. There are also some high-tops that were being used for parties of two. Our waitress did a great job getting us waters, menus, and our first drink order. She also let us know what the weekend specials were. We started with the Spinach Artichoke Dip, which was very good. It came with a bunch of pieces of grilled sourdough bread, which complemented the dip nicely. Our drinks were good, though I felt the Golden Hour Paloma was a little underwhelming. For entrées, we ordered the Grilled Salmon, the Orville Salad (with shrimp), the Filet Mignon, and I had the special, "Inferno" -- a grilled tenderloin filet on top of a deep-fried portabella mushroom, served on spinach with a touch of sriracha. While waiting, the server came over to update and apologize for the delay. I only mention this because I really didn't think the wait was unusually long (but I appreciated their attentiveness). After a few more minutes, our food arrived, and it was excellent -- served at good temperatures, with terrific flavors and generous portions. The special (filet on mushroom and spinach) was excellent. The filet was ordered medium rare but came out closer to medium; still, it was very good. The fried mushroom was crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The sauces were an excellent complement and tied everything together. I would definitely order that again. The noise level was good overall, though there were moments -- when seating new tables or during the ordering process -- when it got VERY loud. I wouldn't have wanted that to last the whole time. Throughout the evening, we were well attended to. Friendly, efficient service with great follow-through (thanks, Rachel). The Orville goes on the "Must Come Back To" list. :)

Both my older son and I thought this sounded amazing so we stopped in on a Friday night to try it. We both got fries for our side. The burger was great as expected. Breading and deep frying the lasagna helped prevent it from being a mess and they added enough marinara to give it flavor without overpowering anything. The fries were lightly salted, but were otherwise just boring, plain potato. Apparently 6pm on a Friday is a horrible time to visit Brazen Head Pub if you want to be seated in a reasonable timeframe. My son and I stood there for at least 20 minutes watching a table that was done eating and the gentleman and his credit card in hand, ready to pay if someone would ever stop and give him his bill. While this was going on, another couple at the bar finished their food and sat there for at least 10 minutes waiting for their check. It's almost as if the employees had no desire to turnover tables even with a line at the door including and behind us. There were three people bartending/waiting tables so they had plenty of coverage given the smaller size of the place. At one point, closer to the end of our meal, one of the bartenders looked at my son and I and asked "are you guys good?" as he was literally walking away from us and I was holding up an empty soda glass to show him I'd like a refill. Oddly, he gave me a thumbs up and kept going. I don't even know what to make of that other than poor service. The music that was playing was excessively loud. If it was a live band, I'd get it, that's part of the show and I wouldn't complain. For random music on speakers to drown out all conversations unless you're yelling, that's dumb.

I'm thrilled for West Bend to gain a restaurant like the Norbert! It is a great atmosphere to get a little dressed up and dine on incredible dishes! I went with two girl friends and we could not stop talking about how impressed we were. The setting is quite unique and well put together. The lighting is just right, creating a fun, but classy atmosphere (the artwork is a great addition as well). Plus the music selection was on point. We ordered one small plate each and shared all three. We got the wings, tilapia tacos, and stuffed piquillo peppers. Every thing was DELICIOUS! But I have to throw out a special recommendation for the stuffed peppers! I warned the server that I eat a gluten free diet and was pleased to hear I had options! They did a great job of being understanding and accommodating. The services was also spectacular. Every one was friendly and helpful. The owner himself was also there which is always a relief to any gluten free costumer. He was also helpful and pleasant! We will be back! read more

I am always a bit apprehensive when I try a new place, but I was blown away from the second we walked into The Norbert. The decor is amazing. The bar looks classy, cool and is tastefully decorated, and is very clean! Was warmly greeted the second I walked in.and felt very relaxed and comfortable right away. The service was unbelievable. We were treated like royalty. Very alert, friendly staff. Fantastic drink selection. A huge selection of craft beers on tap, great wine selection, and drinks made by expert super-personable bartenders. While trying some of the craft beers we started to go over the menu. What a perfect mix of eclectic food selections. We felt the prices were very reasonable. We ordered several of the selections and everything was even better than we thought it would be! We left feeling like we just had a real treat. There is no doubt that we will return here again and again. Fantastic! read more

This place it totally awesome. Mostly locally grown foods artfully prepared. We had the watermelon salad- an awesome combination of sweet and slightly salty with watermelon, tomato pea shoots and goat cheese- yum! We also had the Brussels sprouts that everyone has been talking about and they were delicious! Drew had coconut shrimp with coconut jasmine rice that he raved about. We shared the avocado tacos. Since we have been up since 3 am eastern time and stuck in airports without food, we still had room for deserts. I had the pistachio honey cheese cake and he had the bread pudding. The deserts were just as fabulous as the meal. The bread pudding is definitely enough for two or maybe three people to share. read more

In my opinion, this is one of two or three 5 Star Level restaurants in Washington County. I have NEVER had a bad meal here. The portions are perfect; pricing is comparable. A great value! Waitstaff is top notch. The drinks are a bit pricey but they are made right! The bartenders - particularly Juan and Amber - are fantastic.
