And the Manhattan was the perfect complement--beautifully crafted and smooth without overpowering the meal. The steak tartare was a standout as well: rich, savory, and incredibly well balanced. A little hidden gem that manages to feel both rustic and elevated. Definitely a place I'd happily return to. Also, an honorable mention to our server. She was so friendly and patient while we fumbled over the menu (choice paralysis, it's ALL good!) and the baby tried to grab everything in sight while squawking at the lights and records on the walls. While we waiting we enjoyed view out the large glass windows that overlooked the lake and saw the pontoon boat launch and return with guests, the free ride around the lake with Captain Max (who by the way had some great stories to share on our trip, a couple seemed pretty fishy). Our dinner arrived what seemed like eternity, however being patient was rewarding.... Both selections of fish were awesome... some of the best beer battered cod and perch we've had across a dozen counties. Guys, it's worth it. All around the staff was great, the view during diner was excellent, and the boat ride was like icing on the famous carrot cake they serve.... I personally had this absolutely incredible chocolate cake that was made in house by the owner and i savored every bite. I have to say that they had some great appetizers on the menu including deviled eggs. An appetizer i don't see often but really enjoy. Personally im already looking forward to going back! The chips seemed freshly made and very crunchy, which I appreciated. The queso fundido had a little bit of chorizo on top, but none mixed in it so it was mostly just cheese dip. Kind of disappointing for a $10 add-on to the chips. The chipotle BBQ sauce on the wings was super messy, but I thought it had pretty good flavor. It did lack heat, so don't be afraid to get the wings if you're not a fan of spicy food.

The traffic around the roundabout intersection can get noisy, but I think they simply turn up the volume to compensate. A good spot for smoked meats and other sandwiches.

I had the requisite Spotted Cow while we waited for our appetizer. Holy buckets, out came a huge hot pretzel which was delicious in itself but unfortunately wasn't enhanced by the Sysco cup of barely warm "cheese sauce." Disappointing. The bartender greeted many by name and did a great job ensuring no one was thirsty. A fun place to stop in for a drink and/or a bite.
