Day one of my 7-day stretch of trying at least one new-to-me restaurant per day. I stopped at Lime Cantina in Cedarburg to try their queso fundido and a dozen Mexican wings with chipotle BBQ sauce. Before I ordered I was brought a bowl of chips and salsa. The salsa was thick and on the mild side. The chips ranged from little to no seasoning to heavily seasoned with no apparent middle ground. The chips seemed freshly made and very crunchy, which I appreciated. The queso fundido had a little bit of chorizo on top, but none mixed in it so it was mostly just cheese dip. Kind of disappointing for a $10 add-on to the chips. The chipotle BBQ sauce on the wings was super messy, but I thought it had pretty good flavor. It did lack heat, so don't be afraid to get the wings if you're not a fan of spicy food. read more

The wife and I had another great date night at Lime Cantina! The service was great as always! The restaurant is clean and festive for the Christmas season! The food of course is great! My wife and I shared the Mexican BLT that had Bacon, Tomatoes, Lettuce, Avocado, Bacon jam and Aioli layered to create absolute perfection. Served with mexican tots and mexican slaw. We also shared a side of Mexican Mexican Mac N Cheese which was Pasta, creamy queso, and spices topped with chorizo. All of this was sooo good! read more

Stopped in while hanging out in Cederberg during their Oktoberfest. Place was empty inside so we sat at the bar. Bartender must have been new because she was quite slow. Took forever to get drinks and order. We were a party of 4 and she completely forgot one of our guests food orders, she walked away after taking 3 and we had to flag her down. She also forgot we asked for a second round of drinks and had to flag her down for that. Tried their season apple pie margarita which was actually delicious and not too sweet. Food was good, would definitely give this place another try but might sit at a table to see if service is different. read more

I recently went to Lime Cantina and had the Margarita flight and the last one on the list was a little strong but I was not driving because it was my birthday. Our server was a gal that we have had in the past and she always makes it fun. We also had the hot cheese chorizo dip which was yummy. I can't remember what my entree was but it was delicious as usual. I know from experience to not travel farther south and go to the former dairy queen that is really cr***y. But then the other new restaurant will be Taco Bell soon. Lime Cantina has the best Margarita in my opinion - Keep up the good work! read more

Lime Cantina is a cool place with a great vibe and even better food. You can make reservations which, in Cedarburg, is a plus on weekends as the area is so busy. Free homemade chips and salsa. The chips are so good I buy them for special occasions as my young adult kiddos light up every time I open a bag! Don't expect bar tacos here though, you won't find anything typical at Lime. Duck tacos, mahi mahi tacos, delicious carne asada, shrimp fajitas, Mexican smash burger, etc. The mole sauce is to die for. And if you have someone in the group not loving Mexican flavor, have a Caesar salad with chicken breast, ask for the smash burger without the sauce and jalapeños, try the burrata salad, or augment dishes. They do not balk at special orders. I wouldn't believe any review under a four star here. And, even then, it's likely because it was super busy and or staff was new. Cocktails (margs and special sangria flavors especially) are amazing! Go here, you will love it. read more

I have been to lime Cantina, at least a couple of dozen times over the years. The food has always been hit or miss, but the owners are not nice people. In particular, the male owner absolutely cannot take constructive criticism to make his establishment better but chooses to just be angry and justify a really poor product. La Cantina just down the road is a way way better option. read more

This place was straight JAMMING on a Tuesday. Trivia brings the masses and the prompt service made it a loud but manageable experience. We walked in and just so happens to get the only open table in the whole place. My friend had the mole ribs and I had the carne asada. We were both pleased with our food which was plentiful. I will say the salsa was a bit watery and I disliked that, but maybe that's more personal preference. I prefer a thicker sauce. Also, if the mole ribs had some additional sauce on the side that would be sweet. Oh and the bourbon selection was pretty decent as well! read more

Lime is one of my favorite places in MKE area to eat and drink. One of the owners, however, began treating me differently after she learned of my political affiliation via Facebook. That was in 2021, though, and I continued to go there albeit not as regularly. Their margaritas are neck and neck w/Poco Loco, but Lime has more variety and a seasonal special flavor margarita list. I highly recommend they put blueberry jalapeño on the menu as I asked for that since they make those flavors individually and it was the best margarita there yet! They have excellent food and my heart goes out to them for losing their chef unexpectedly who helped co-create their menu (RIP). All of the food is delish. Their chips and salsa are bomb. I could eat the green sauce with a spoon that you dip their wings in. They also have some of the best wings I've ever had. I wish I could remember the bartender's name who has auburn hair- she is a gem and a definite keeper- give that woman a raise as she represents Lime Cantina like it's her own, and those are the kind of employees you want. I would've given 5 stars, but since I was an A+ customer who owner would go out of her way to talk to pre learning my politics (which I'm passionate about but never brought into her business) to being completely ignored and even snarled at, I'll give 4. Food & drinks are very good. While sometimes slow & sparse, service is very friendly. The biggest downside is acoustics --the dining room's tin ceiling makes for an uncomfortably loud room--1 loud diner at another table can ruin everyone's meal. What a killer new spot in Cedarburg! This is definitely the best Mexican food for miles around ! The food was better than excellent! The service was top notch and the vibe was great. Really inspired cuisine and there was ample amounts of protein in these tacos, unlike many other "so called" street taco restaurants. Drinks were great. Friendly service. I was really pleasantly surprised with Lime Cantina! Being a longtime resident I was used to it being an old bar so wasn't sure how they had updated it. The place looks nice, it has a lot of the same features as the bar but definitely refreshed. The chips were really great - super fresh which we loved. The salsa was also good, mild but had a lot of flavor. We ordered the Elote, mini chimichangas, and street tacos. I was happy that the tacos and chimichangas were all mix and match so you could get a variety of meats, although I do wish there would have been a seafood option. They were both good, I would have loved for there to be a little more with the tacos (toppings). The elote was also good, it probably could have used a little more flavor/seasoning, but it was still tasty. Came here for a birthday dinner with my wife and kids, ages 15 and 11. Staff was super friendly and the restaurant had a nice vibe. There is an outdoor seating area which looks awesome, but we did not sit out there as it was soooo hot. For apps we had the Shishito Peppers and the Queso Curds. I thought the peppers were pretty tasty, as was the Mojo Verde sauce. The curds were very large and can with a mango dipping sauce. The curds were good, I just wished they had a bit more flavor. For a main course I had the pork enchiladas with salsa verde. The dish was ok, but again I wish it came a little better seasoned. Also, the presentation was not great as it was just three enchiladas on a black plate. The sides I had were the fried plantains and the Mexican Tots. The tots were good but the plantains were straight up awesome!! My wife had the street tacos, and again she said she likes them but felt as though they just needed something else to Kick them forward. My 15 year old had a burger and fries and it was tasty. My 11 year old had steak skewers, and although it was a bit spicy for her, it was yummy. All in all I would have given this place 3.5 stars, but that is not an options, hence the 5. Horrible service! Had a large party, left a nice tip but rude hostess. They had this crazy tent thing out back with a bunch of picnic tables. Hostess yelled at us for trying to add a couple chairs so we could make people fit even though the tent was mostly empty. We had a great experience at Lime. The ambiance is wonderful, and they had a fantastic patio (which would be ideal for weather warmer than -5 degrees haha). We had the mini chimichangas, Mexican wings, queso, and street tacos. The food was amazing, particularly the chips and queso! The service was terrific, and the margaritas were delicious and unique. Everything was great! I ordered the chicken adobo tacos, others with me ordered the al pastor tacos and the carne asada. Mine was amazing, all the flavors super nummy. Everyone else with me was very impressed as well and ate everything on their plates. Service was excellent--server was prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. Been here many times and the food is very good. The real test comes when you go to the bar to have a drink and a bite to eat... I was offered a food menu and a drink menu and received my drink in a timely manner. The distracted bartending staff never thought to come back and ask for a food order. After about 10 minutes the wait turned into a challenge on my part to see if they even remembered that they're there to provide service to the customers. Never did get waited on for a food order so I took my appetite elsewhere. Would be good if the management got a tighter ship behind the bar which of course would turn into more revenue for ownership. I really wanted to like this place. I want to support the independent restaurant owner. I get that it is hard to fine help, but I am willing to wait for my meal--but don't insult me. This is my second visit here. The first time we ate outside, the food was ok and the outside was cute. I decided that I would give it another try. My only real criticism would be; hide the trash cans. We are eating. I don't want to look at the garbage. A simple fence or a few bushes would help. The second time We had three orders of fajitas. The onions were stewing all day and the chickens and the beef were so dry. I really think it was reheated. I know this is a ruff time, but make the meal count. For $100, make me want to come back. Two stars because the posit e things were the unique drinks and that the owner came out to greet us after posting on Facebook. That was a nice touch. The downside. absolutely was the food. I'm not on Mexican food and took a risk when reading "our spin on Mexican food". At a minimum you need to have some type of seasoning on your meat. The steak used was tough cheap steak. At least a skirt steak or Milanesa steak. The elote was weird I couldn't stomach more than a bite of it. Unfortunately would not recommend this place to anyone wishing to enjoy Mexican style food. I wouldn't even call this Tex-mex. To the owner thank you for the hospitality, but seek some professional opinions on your food and not what your peers say is good.
