We had for drinks, Byrrh-Bon Cherry tart, Old Fashioned Sweet, Harvey's Manhattan and a Chardonnay. Starter-Grilled Baby artichokes brandied chicken liver pâté. Dinner includes, Gumbo, shrimp fettuccine, Veal Marsala, and Scallops dinner that was one of the specials of the day. Our server DAN was very friendly, and knowledgeable about the drinks and food . Harvey's is a go to favorite when I'm in town because it's a non chain restaurant and we like to support local restaurants. Tonight it was a quick dinner and got Veal Piccata. It was good, however it was a little greasy. Yes I understand it's fried, but before plating it they could have let some of oil drip off. Otherwise it's very good. I also enjoy their ahi tuna and gumbo when I'm there. Service is always great. The waitress seem to know a lot of the patrons and are always circling the dining room to make sure you don't need anything. The bar is always crowded when I'm there and it's great to see on a Wednesday in the summer the restaurant is pretty full. The outdoor patio to both dining rooms tables were occupied. If you're in the Mequon area for business you won't be disappointed by Harvey's. read more

We went to the restaurant with a friend last night. There is a lot of parking space, despite being full, we got a good spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance of the restaurant was good, with a large group of groomed diners.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff and the service were also good. However, the food was disappointing and did not come up to the reviews we heard from friends. We ordered pecan crusted whitefish as the main entree and were disappointed by the blandness of the taste. The key-lime pie was however good. Whether we will take our guests there again is questionable, as so many other choices are available. We visited Harvey's for a recent birthday dinner. My parents and I met on a Friday evening with an early reservation. They were already at bar table so we all had a cocktail. The hostess kept trying to seat us before we finished our drinks. After she hovered we let a server take us to our table. We were just seated when the hostess came over to our table and told us we need to move as there was a larger party that needed ours. We did not want to move, but she insisted. We carried on with our orders and meal. Irritatingly, they eventually sat another group of four at our previous table - no larger group. So we presumed someone more important came in and we were rudely bumped. For that reason alone, we will never go here again. It's a pity really. The servers were quite good and nice. The food was good - we loved our fish special. Our cocktails were fine, if not great. They even brought a dish of ice cream with whipped cream and candles for the birthday pair. Went here with a large group for my husband's 40th birthday. Service was excellent and the food is always good. They gave him a complimentary dessert and sang happy birthday which was a nice touch. It's a bit pricer than some other places in the Northshore but excellent for special occasions or date nights. read more

Nice happy hour and friendly bartenders. Despite many items being on the menu for a long time they still often miss the mark. I. E. the halibut. The chef appears to be a wizard with scallops but few patrons order it due to a ridiculous ly high price. This is puzzling because the grocery store across the street sells large frozen dry sea scallops at a very moderate price. Wonderful hostesses and great wait staff. read more

Great non-chain restaurant in Mequon! We usually come here for appetizers and drinks but sometimes for a nicer dinner. Warm welcoming spot with friendly staff, they have a lot of regulars here. Dimly lit bistro feel with a bar section that includes numerous high tops. Outdoor seating with heaters also available. Good cocktail selection and many appetizers to choose from. Smaller entree menu but food is great and there is always a special. Highly recommend the sweet potato fries, they're very thick more like sweet potato chunks but SO tasty with the aioli. read more

In town for business and stumble upon Harvey's. I thought the look of the restaurant was lovely and the patio areas are very nice. We had scallops, grilled shrimp and a few other appetizers all where fantastic. I highly recommend the scallops as an appetizer and a main course. During our meal Harvey's was pretty busy, but the service was amazing. My boyfriend surprised me with dinner here and let me tell you, I was not disappointed. This place is truly a hidden gem - between their beautiful inside dining area, the patio out front, or the screened in porch, I don't think you could possibly have a bad dining experience here. We started at the bar for a drink and we're greeted by the most wonderful, cheerful bartender. He had a full bar and was visibly attentive to each customer - he was great. We loved our drinks and his demeanor that we almost stayed and ate dinner right there. However, after much debate, we decided to check out the screened in porch. I'm told they heat this in the winter, so it's more like a 4 seasons room which is super fun. (Plus no bugs!!!) They gave us bread right away (my favorite) with butter. The butter was very hard, but we didn't mind too much. We also ordered shrimp tostadas and the scallops for starters. I've only really enjoyed scallops at one other restaurant - I'm picky about my scallops - and these were DEVINE. I was thoroughly obsessed, which lead me to substitute my shrimp at dinner for scallops in my dish (which they were happy to do! My only *complaint* which truly isn't a complaint, is that they sliced the scallops and I would have preferred to do that by myself - but it still tasted absolutely delicious) my boyfriend got their pecan crusted whitefish which was also amazing. Crusty on the outside, but nice and flaky and moist on the inside. His also came with broccoli and brown rice! Had the strip steak and it was great. Appetizers were also delicious. The scallops were good and the naan platter was soft and warm.

We did touch-less pick-up so can't comment on the dining room. The outdoor patio was full, overlooking the parking lot. Gumbo & slaw was meh. Wednesday special ribs were yummy. Fall off bone, thick somewhat spicy sauce. 3 tiny corn bread muffins & kind of soggy fried potatoes. (Could be takeout factor). Service was friendly & speedy. We assembled family from out of town to celebrate my brother and SIL's 43rd wedding anniversary. We ordered several small plates to serve as appetizers for our group of 6. Plates emptied while we oood and ahhhed each delectable choice. Entrees were just as enjoyable. Cocktails spot on and a few desserts made it around far sampling. Servers were outstanding and the ambiance, relaxed. We were there on a Wednsday, reservations are recommended. Excellent! Scallops were amazing. Shrimp bisque was so very good...I wanted more than my cup. Duck salad was good. The service was top notch and the atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for: nice restaurant - could be romantic or ladies night out or small celebration or, as in my case, single woman on a business trip. I love this place. If I'm ever in the area again, I'd definitely stop in. Parking was easy with a big, nice lot. I wish I had sat on the lovely patio. Service and communication is lacking. It isn't uncommon to assume a restaurant provides a take out service. But if it's limited then have a public communication about it like on your FB page or website to indicate operations of restaurant wouldn't be a stretch. What is puzzling, is the excuse not to communicate/publish. They stated nowhere is "take out" discussed on their website so why would they need to communicate that take out orders are only available before 5:30. I would have planned differently when I looked at their hours of operations at 6pm and the menu. At least be friendlier on the phone....not like I should have known. read more

This is the most ridiculous thing I ever heard. I called Harvey's to place a to go dinner order. I was told the cut-off time to place an order was 5:30 PM. They are busy and cannot accommodate the request. What's the difference between a to go order and placing the same order from a table in the restaurant? I've eaten at Harvey's on several occasions as it is conveniently located near my mother's house. The last time there I was with four other people. The service was okay, not great. The waitress forgot our appetizer and brought it after our meals were served when reminded. She comped it. I ordered the scallops with wild rice. The scallops were big, fresh and sweet. No complaints. Fresh steamed vegetables, carrots, cauliflower and broccoli and, oddly, a single leaf of lettuce and garnish, accompanied the main dish as well as the "wild rice." The wild rice wasn't wild rice at all, but rather seasoned white rice. The waitress informed me that they frequently make such substitutions. She offered to bring an order of wild rice instead. This turned out to be more seasoned white rice with a scant sprinkling (and I do mean scant) of wild rice. Why bother with such transparent deception? Does a Wisconsin restaurant really not know what wild rice is? At $29 for the entree I expect to be served what I am sold. More than disappointed. Three stars because the scallops were excellent. Minus two stars for either blatant deception or unforgivable ignorance. read more

We went here for a quick bite to eat during happy hour. Overall we felt that the experience was just "meh" Their happy hour pricing is not as welcoming as others. Wine is about a dollar off, martinis are two dollars off. We had the baked goat cheese and a hamburger. The burger was quite tasty, and is the reason why this review was a 3 vs something lower. My husband and I went here the other night. I'm pregnant and I get sick when I'm hungry, so we called ahead of time to ensure we could get a table as soon as we arrived. We showed up when we were supposed to and they told us to wait a minute. During the next 20-30 minutes we watched two other couples, who came in after us, get seated before us while we continued to wait. We were ready to leave when they finally seated us. Of course, they could have no idea I was pregnant (not showing), but it was just a bit frustrating when they began seating people in front of us after we had been standing there for close to half an hour and we had reservations. Our server was very, very nice and got us our appetizer quickly, but it did seem like the kitchen was backed up as it took quite a while to get our entrees. The food was good, but the entrees left a lot to be desired. I ordered the Mushroom Tenderloin and my husband had the Salmon Japonais. We were both disappointed. I would go back again since it's convenient, but my expectations aren't very high at this point. read more

Our group was in this past weekend to celebrate a belated Christmas dinner...2 couples & a single. Our entrees were truly wonderful...absolutely delicious...no complaints here. Our issue came when it was time to pay. Apparently this restaurant will not accept separate checks. Every other restaurant we have been to in the past 2 years will happily divide the bill & accept payment by credit card from each payer in the group. As no single payer wanted the full amount on his or her credit card, we all had to come up with exact cash for our particular entrees, drinks, appetizers, taxes & tips. It made the end of our evening a little stressful. Again, every other restaurant we've been to has been very accommodating...except Harvey's. read more
