Had dinner there last night; it was our first visit. It's a small space and the ambience is very pleasant, though I imagine it might be less so on a busy Fri or Sat night. Our party of four had 3 appetizer sized small plates and 4 main courses (Walleye, Carbonara, and Bolognese). All the food was excellent, but the favorite for all of us was the crispy potato small plate. Our server was very pleasant, but she was new and not yet thoroughly familiar with the menu. It's a bit pricey, but I think the quality justifies the cost. One cautionary note: the menu, including the bar offerings, is relatively limited, so if you're looking for enormous variety you might be disappointed. I suggest you check the menu online in advance. We've been twice now and have enjoyed the ambiance. Food is good, but not blow your mind good, but also good for the area. It is pricey so expect a larger bill. Service was super friendly and knowledgeable. A bit slow to get food out but they do make everything from scratch! Gave us plenty of time to chit chat. Some interesting seating options, some private areas and also the main area too. Great place for a date, slightly dim lighting. Street parking only. Overall, will continue to come back. Reservations are a must. There are not a lot of tables and the place was full when we visited on a Friday night. The open brick and candle lit tables provided a cozy atmosphere. Our table for 6 was well taken care of. Our server was excellent. She was helpful with suggestions of the menu. She was efficient and welcoming. Loved her. We each chose a different meal - love when that happens because it means the menu has so many great things to choose from, plus we get to share! I chose the walleye and it was the best walleye I've ever had. It almost tasted like a sea bass. Loved the combo with brussel sprouts. Fantastic flavors and textures throughout. We started with the apps of brussel sprouts and goat cheese spread. They were so good! Everyone loved their meal. We had an excellent experience. Hope to come back and try a new dish. read more

Our party of 4 arrived and we were warmly greeted and promptly seated. Our server was Noah, who was pretty young but was really professional. He was friendly, attentive and had plenty of energy. We ordered drinks which came out quickly and then ordered 2 appetizers, Brussels sprouts and the goat cheese spread. Both were excellent! All of our meals were prepared well and all were delicious. I ordered the scarpriello which is a pasta dish and it was excellent with plenty of chicken and Italian sausage. I'm including a photo. We have been coming to the Green Lake area for 25 summers. We have seen many restaurants come and go. Fox and Crow is the best we've eaten in all the years coming to the area. The key is consistency. Their food and service are consistently excellent. My husband and I have several favorites, but anything you try, you will love. My husband is a little picky, and after expressing a concern over a specific flavor, the chef came out to make certain that it was going to be something he'd enjoy. One of my favorite places to eat! Every thing we ordered was spot on!!! Apps was medjool dates, Pork belly, focaccia!!!!!!! It was sooo good! I had this yummy drink, it was so pretty it had blueberries and rosemary garnished in it! That night we had 6 of us for dinner. The service was so great, bubbly and tentative to our every need! I loved the lobster risotto I'm Gluten free and the choices for me was many!! We always make it a point to dine here when in the area. Always delicious with friendly service. Love the overall bistro feel. Chic but not pretentious. Last night we shared the Pork Belly (the chilis and kimchi add such flavor), followed by the Lobster Risotto and Scarpriello. The flavors...... We finished it off with Crème Brûlée and Chocolate Lava Cake. The Crème Brûlée was amazing. Sadly the Lava Cake, while good lacked the lava!! Everything we've had has been excellent. So good that we went two nights in a row!! The food was fabulous, the service was impeccable and the atmosphere was perfectly cozy. I was in Ripon for work so I went with coworkers both nights and was thrilled both times. This will be my regular when I'm in town. I had the pork schnitzel the first night and the black truffle sachetti the second night. Brussels sprout appetizer both nights and a delicious cheese cake desert one night. The pork schnitzel was cooked perfectly and the red cabbage and spaetzle were a wonderful side. They tangy cabbage and brown butter spaetzle really set the pork off. The black truffle sachetti with shrimp was to die for. I could eat this every night. The flavors were distinct and comforting. The Brussels sprouts were delectable and the caramelized sauce on them was amazing. I was too full to eat the cheesecake at the restaurant it I took it to go and enjoyed this heavenly dessert at my room. I had a blueberry alcoholic never that I can not remember the name of but it went so well with the food. This is definitely a great date night destination but is also perfect for the lone traveler or work group. Family friendly, clean and comfortable. Tonight, our party of three decided to stop at the Fox and Crow Bistro in downtown Ripon, Wisconsin as we heard great things about this establishment. Just make sure you have a reservation, as they have a very small dining area. The decor inside the restaurant was very beautiful, with pieces of art and a stone wall. There was also an opening so that you could see the kitchen. You also could smell the aroma of the kitchen, as we were seated nearby. Our waitress was very attentive, and made sure we were made comfortable. We started our meal with 4 starters. The pork belly, the Brussels sprouts, the focaccia bread, and the mussels. The pork belly was seared perfectly, and the glaze was just spectacular! The Brussels sprouts tasted very good, and we not soggy. The freshly baked focaccia bread had a perfect crust, and a soft chewy center and was even better when dipped in the extra virgin olive oil. And oh, how can I forget about the mussels! These had to be some of the best tasting mussels I have ever had! They were very large, and were not chewy, but they were soft and tender. The flavor of the wine and garlic gave these puppies a great flavor that was not overwhelming. For my entree, I decided to have the pork schnitzel. That was a great choice! The schnitzel had a perfect, crispy crust and the pork was tender and juicy. The lemon gave it a nice acidity, and the cabbage added good sweetness. The spaeztle also added a nice touch. Overall, this tasted incredible. I had a great experience here at the Fox and Crow bistro. They say this will be your new favorite restaurant, and they were definitely not wrong. read more
