Visiting a friend in Madison for a short weekend trip, and she recommended we go to The Stuffed Olive. It was so good, we came by the next night too!! The martini options seem endless, and all the drinks are absolutely delicious. Both visits our server was very attentive and gave great recommendations. The interior has a lot of seating options and also bar-seating. The lighting, in my opinion, was a bit too bright for a bar, wish it was either bright all the way or darker instead of an in-between dimness. We ordered 2 drinks each and we of course had to try each other's drinks, and sincerely could not decide which was the best because every drink was so delicious and came with adorable decor!! If I had any suggestions for this place, I would say I wish The Stuffed Olive had a tasting option for the drinks, maybe like best sellers tasting menu or a themed tasting menu based on the names of the martinis. I would absolutely try that, especially because I really wished I could try every martini option in the menu! Not sure how this place is in business. Our poor waiter obviously was not trained well. It was a goat rodeo of an experience. Items ordered never coming to the table. Main plates arriving before appetizers. For one of our parties the appetizer came with the main plate. Waiter couldn't manage to find our bill on his remote checkout appliance and had a small breakdown so the other waiter had to bail him out and finish the transaction after 5 minutes of him sitting against the wall by our table just udderly confused. We would of liked to have seen the bill to see if it was correct since we didn't receive some of our appetizers but thought that would of just pushed him over the edge..some patrons left as they never got any service after waiting over 30 minutes and not being addressed. It wasn't a full house.. Now why the generous 2 stars you ask? Well, my food tasted solid. I had the caprese flatbread and it was good but definitely could be better had they used fresh tomatoes especially this time of year and them being 2 blocks from the Dane County farmers market. I also had the hummus and it was good and the donuts for dessert were decent. One of my parties had the tuna and he said it could have been more flavorful but it was ok. He also said the bruschetta was solid. My husband had the whiskey sliders and he said they were good (juicy) and would probably order again. The last in our party had a pesto chicken flatbread and she said it was pretty good but needed more pesto. We were supposed to have the olive appetizer but it never came so can't speak to those. Our other appetizer, the spinach dip came after we had our meal. He had forgotten about it and when he brought it out you could tell it had been sitting a while. I think it would be good freshly baked. As for drinks, one had a dirty bird and it was way too dirty... need to lighten that up a bit. 2 had mocktails and they were fine (lemonade based) and the last had the Rose that was on special and it was solid. Womens restroom was not clean.. yuk! We obviously are not returning. I can't imagine they will be around long if they don't make changes. We truly felt bad for our server. The Stuffed Olive has ENDLESS flavors of martinis!!! Some of the flavors were a bit strange, like mashed potato or birthday cake. They all seem very interesting! I can't wait to come back and try more. We ordered the spinach artichoke flatbread which was super salty, but that wasn't a problem for me since I love a good salty snack paired with a super sugary drink! Stuffed Olive has a hotel ambiance, the seats, lighting, and decor all feel comfortable corporate. There is typically available seating and the servers are quick to get to you. After you order your drinks you may need to wave them down if you are wanting more. The food is good but definitely a little over priced considering the size. There are a TON of martini options to choose from and very creative additions you can add. Plan on walking as it is not in a location with feasible parking options. This was delish! We went as a part of the Madison Restaurant Week and so I got the $20 brunch which comes with one appetizer (monkey bread - divine!), one main (hangover burger) and one dessert (chia pudding). All of it was super yum! I wish that the burger had some more flavor, however. I also got a delicious bloody mary, perhaps my favorite one I've ever had! Our server was amazing! This is the absolute cutest and coziest little Restaurant. The ambience makes it perfect for date night, girls night, brunch or any sort of get together. The way the seating is set up, you even feel comfortable going to eat alone. The food was fresh and hot when he came out. The sliders with the caramelized onions was so tender and juicy. I didn't get the ghost pepper cheese because I knew it was going to be too hot for me. Also, the Thai chicken flatbread was enough for two people to share. The martinis oh my goodness the martinis!! From the picture you can tell that we were there in the daytime and we had to stop ourselves at one each. They were so good. This is a spot that we would definitely go back to. The atmosphere is casual but sophisticated, very nicely appointed. The drinks and food were exceptional. We ordered a variety of tapas and flatbreads to share. What a fun night out at this place!! Over 100 martinis to choose from. I had the cherry koolaid, and yes, it tasted like kool aid. Absolutely delicious! My husband had Daydreaming with Flora. Attention ! As soon as we entered we were greeted and picked our location. Recently opened as I saw the construction process earlier this summer I have wanted to try Olive. 107 different cocktails and martinis, well 108 now. Sort of tapas/small plates but slightly larger. Red Pepper Hummus was flavorful and the veggies tasted right out of a garden. We also enjoyed the Med Flatbread but with added Italian Sausage. Seared Tuna was tender for not being Ahi but seared perfectly. Now back to 108, so I was chatting with our great server Juliette about the martinis. I asked about an Aperol Martini ? I didn't see it on the menu nor did she find it in her handheld. So we got to talking and created one. I initially thought Aperol with Vodka splash of OJ and Club Soda or a bubbly of choice would do the trick. Juliette chatted with Joe the bartender and got to work. What he created was Aperol with Makers Mark muddled lemon and strawberry with champagne. I love bourbon so it was a nice twist. What turned out is a great tasty drink that will be popping up on the menu. Of course Dan the GM liked it as well. This is a "martini" bar with small plates. It's more like the McDonald's of martini bars. It could be better. The martini glass wasn't chilled. The garnishes weren't available per the recipe, which would be fine if it were communicated. Example, "spicy pickle girl" was supposed to come with a gherkin and a cocktail onion but it came with two bread and butter pickle chips.....if you want a nice martini experience this is not it. We went at Friday @ 6 to an almost empty bar. Sat at the bar and were not greeted by any of the 3 bartenders for 10 mins. We ordered martinis and some food. The martinis we ordered were pretty good. We went classic, not any of the fun wild ones. The food, however, was very disappointing. We got the spinach artichoke dip, sliders, and Thai chicken flatbread -- which the bartender had said was one of her favorites. All of it looked like it had been made days before and simply reheated. The slider patties were much smaller than the buns and the toppings in the flatbread didn't extend nearly to the edges, making it mostly crust. After a couple bites, we gave up eating it and ditched our plan to order another drink. When the bartender asked how everything was and we told her we weren't too happy with the food, she didn't seemed that surprised. Overall, it was extremely disappointing and I won't be returning there for anything other than a basic martini on a quiet night. read more

For my first drink, I ordered a mule that came in a copper mug and then later ordered a second one that came in a glass. Hard to believe there weren't any clean copper mugs since none of the 18 people in the restaurant weren't drinking mules. That's where things went downhill. I counted 5 staff members behind the bar - none of whom ever asked if we wanted another drink or food, of which we wanted both. And frankly, the bar is not that big.
