Could this be my favorite Colectivo location!? The inside is so spacious and airy, and the sunken patio is such a vibe. Sat outside there recently and it's just so welcoming. As are the employees. I'm always game to try their season lattes, so I went with the elderflower one on special. Loved the flavor. However I'll say, I always alwaysss ask for 'half' the flavoring / syrup and honestly that's plenty. So just a hot tip if you're not into anything overly sweet or flavored. My friend got the matcha latte and added a shot of espresso. That's a good pick here, too! It's been a bit since I've eaten of their menu but I'll be back for that because the options are great for a small cafe. read more

I haven't been to a Colectivo I didn't like! This one has generous amounts of seating and I LOVE the outdoor space (despite road noise) and the fireplace is so cozy and inviting. I had the chorizo burrito (devoured before I could take a photo) and a seasonal latte. So so good. I'll definitely come back to this spot to hang. read more

I don't like Colectivo coffee at all, but they have the absolute best coffee shops in regards to atmosphere, layout, style etc and some of their other drinks are very good. Love the iced cold brew oatchata for example, a staple every time I go. And their espresso shake is also amazing. And they've got the best food of any other coffee shops as well, especially the breakfast burritos and sandwiches, top notch. And the service is always friendly and they keep the tables generally clean, which for some reason seems most coffee shops have a hard time doing. read more

Stopped at this Colectivo with a large outdoor space and a fireplace, after a bike ride on the Ozaukee Interurban trail. Five stars all the way for the space. The indoor/outdoor space is pretty amazing and one could work remotely here for days! But although it was only mid-afternoon on a Saturday, staff seemed reticent to make the Summer Gala hibiscus tea w/lemonade special drink. I love the Colectivo Beers, and ordered a Lemongrass Pils. Although, there were no clean pilsner glasses, so I got a smaller pour in a Stout glass, which honestly did change the effervescent taste of the pilsner. Still, I love Colectivo's Milwaukee born and raised business vibe, and it's A-Okay up Mequon way! I'm sure we'll be back after another ride up the OZ trail. read more

The ice cream drinks are good and their coffee is Uber strong. I always get half the amount of coffee and sugar free syrups to cut down on caffeine, sugar, and calories. The food is not so great anymore because everything is prepackaged and microwaved. The bakery is still decent but again microwaved so you decide if you need it warmed up. Microwaving changes the texture on food items and not for the better, in my humble opinion! I like this place overall but I have to admit the staff isn't all that friendly. They come off as kind of callous. When I ask about products, they usually don't know. They always seem indifferent. For example, Today I wasn't happy with the service and a food product. I quietly mentioned it to a staff member who never attempted to right the situation. I got that empty, "what do you want me to do look" so I shrugged, picked up my order from a shelf, access left. It's just coffee. Right? This is the coffee shop in my area. I can walk to it. My apartment building often gives us gift cards as rewards or incentives. I have never spent any of my own money here. I haven't been motivated to do so. Their indifference affects my wallet! I guess one day, they will wake up, literally smell the coffee, and start acting like they want my money. On that day, I might actually be inspired, to use something other than a gift card to pay for a treat! I just want to feel appreciated! read more

I stood at the register, waiting to order, I was the only one there. There were more employees than customers, I waited and watched them make expresso's for themselves. Never greeted me or acknowledged that I was there. 2 coffees and 1 rice bowl cost me 18 dollars. So this is what 15 an hour to goof offs looks like. It came to my attention the other day that I finally had stopped referring to Colectivo as Alterra (it's previous name.) That only took me maybe half a decade to do. Old habits die hard! We stopped in here on a bike ride - its just east off the ozaukee inter urban bike trail, and has a nice little patio with a ton of bike parking. Inside theirs tons of seating too. colectivo has kind of grown on me...I love their non-caffeinated iced sport tea, which they now offer with half juice (pineapple for the win!) They also have just a ton of interesting drinks - mostly coffee or tea related, obviously. A horchata, some sort of coffee - tea "mojito" drink, a day of the dead inspired drink. They also have smoothies. Although I usually pass, their bakery always looks awesome, and they have a ton of merchandise (mugs, bulk coffee, nice tshirts) for purchase. if you want water, by the sugar and milk table they have two spouts- one for still and one for sparkling water- the sparkling water was so refreshing - who knew? It tasted way better than the canned stuff. just east off the bike trail and diagonal from cafe hollander, it makes a great pit stop. read more

Asked the snotty child where my drink was answers its coming. Still more customers who came in after me and ordered not via the app served before me. My fiancé and I came here after a movie for a quick bite and some coffee. We were both really hungry and wanted to relax for a bit, and thought a coffee shop would be perfect. We got our drinks and as we're sitting there waiting for our food, a staff member came over to let us know they were closing. Huh? Not sure why they were closing at 2pm on a Saturday .. and for a second we thought our order had been forgotten about. I wish we would have been informed they were so close to closing time before we ordered or we would have preferred to go somewhere else for food. I visit this Colectivo a couple of times a year since it is a bit of a drive for me. I went there today and the service was amazing. I was helped by this wonderful lady named Madeline who made my day with conversation and even brought me my drink when I accidentally missed them calling my name!! I haven't been in a Colectivo since it was called Alterra. I stopped in the Mequon Colectivo today after getting a haircut. I ordered a big cup of half caff and a breakfast sandwich to go. I live a five minutes drive away. The coffee was ready right away, which meant it had the opportunity to cool down while I waited for the sandwich. Too bad it didn't just disappear. BITTER BITTER BITTER. Tasted like yesterday morning's coffee - nothing redeeming to it at all. I added a ton of half-and-half at home, and it still tasted bad. The sandwich - well, they weren't careful how they wrapped it, so it was all over the place - the top of the sandwich about 2" to the side of the rest. The English muffin was super chewy, like it was very old. The staff were very nice, and that's why I'm giving this place more than one star, but I won't be back. The instant coffee I keep at home is far better tasting than what I paid for at Colectivo. read more

Staff is friendly but the Covid change to only bagged food picked up has taken some of the warmth of the interaction out of the environment. The really sad thing is the coffee. Very nice space with lots of nice touches, like sparkling water on tap! But the coffee is acidy (think fancy Dunkin' Donuts coffee that requires cream and sugar) and the slow service by unsmiling hipsters ruins the experience. (Some of them are delightful, but that's the minority) I waited 20 minutes from checkout to delivery for a burrito, without even an apology. It was during a rush, but I've slung coffee before and you plan for rushes. Bottlenecks at the kitchen and barista are managed well elsewhere, but not here. read more

My friend and I had some of the best coffee we've had in a long time here. Here's why: --Ambiance. Hey, it's Colectivo. They've mastered the art of hip, industrial warmth. And a great patio! It was so great that didn't realize the patio spot we picked out actually belonged to the neighboring Cafe Hollander. Oops! Not to be outdone, we serendipitously moved a Colectivo table and pair of chairs to a shady front spot. We were applauded by staff for being intrepid. We enjoyed our shade and proceeded to linger for two and a half hours. Of course we put our seats back neatly and precisely... --Coffee. It's consistently good and flavorful. The weekday necessity becomes a luxury when enjoyed at a leisurely pace with company. You can always count on Colectivo to be flavorful. --Convenient. I don't always go to Mequon, but when I do I love this little shopping center. So cute. A slight detraction is the parking, it's a bit hard to find, but no matter when it's a sunny Saturday. --All in all my trip to this Colectivo was awesome and allowed me to enjoy myself, slow down, relax and enjoy the moment - and the company of my friend. I've been a loyal customer for over 20 years because the coffee has always been good. unfortunately, through the pandemic I've seen a different side of many places. the service has tanked even when they have like 5 extra people on staff standing around looking sulky. Then they struggle with basic customer service, there are few times that I still get a pleasant employee and experience. And of course the higher prices which is everywhere. read more

If you like nitro coffee and oat milk, get the nitro oat milk latte. It was smooth, creamy, and foamy. Not sweet at all, which is what I prefer. My 7 year old had the sport tea which is always a winner. Slightly sweetened but not overwhelmingly so. He even had a sip of my coffee and declared he now wanted to drink coffee if it tasted like that. They're doing the social distancing thing right by only having outdoor seating. read more

I work nearby and usually bring lunch. Qhen I dont, I'll grab a sandwich from here. Staff are always pleasant, wait time is usually 5 or so mins unless it's during peak lunch time. Their coffee is too strong for me so I skip that but I love their baked goodies (such as the chocolate croissant) & my FAV is the Turkey club sandwich on sourdough. It is soooo good. Bread is toasted, pesto mayo, bacon, cant ask for anything more! Sometimes I will not pack lunch just so I can come here for the sandwich. read more

Was excited to try this place but disappointed at the results. Cold brew was good but nothing special compared to other places I've tried. The worst part was the cinnamon roll. The first bite I took had a hint of onion and fennel to it. I contributed it to the roll being placed next to savory items in the display case. However, the longer I kept eating it, the worse the flavor got. Then, I was horrified to find several pieces of fennel seed at the bottom of the roll! I get flavors melding together due to large open display cases, but this was clearly negligence in cleaning plates/platters or cross contaminating two different food items.
