Date of visit: November 20, 2025 We had not been here in years, but came with some friends for the Milwaukee County Historical Society trivia. It definitely seemed that the staff here were simply not prepared for the volume of people that came out to celebrate the area and support the Historical Society. Emma, our server, was definitely trying, but not always succeeding, neglecting to enter in some parts of the order until far later into the evening (our friends didn't receive their order of garlic bread for about 45 minutes after their entrees were delivered) though oddly enough, she was always ready to bring someone another alcoholic beverage. Thankfully the food I had was pretty good, the grilled cheese sandwich paired well with their tomato bisque soup--I took a chance on the soup not being a traditional tomato soup fan (Campbell's? Gross!) but I found Three Lions version to be hearty and flavorful, definitely a combo that I would get again in the future. I would just come on a night when they could keep up with the crowds far better! Pro tip: Ask for croutons for the soup, they elevated a good soup to an amazing soup. read more

Three Lions Pub is a cozy neighborhood staple. The atmosphere the pub creates makes you feel right at home. We ordered the Fish N' Chips and the House Burger. The Burger was extra juicy and flavorful- and huge! The fish was also huge and the batter was crisp. The fries were crisp yet soft and the Caesar salad wasn't too heavy of a dressing! We've been to Three Lions a few times. Sometimes it's just a nice place to stop after having a drink at a nearby place such as Draft & Vessel. The times we've gone, it's been pretty quiet. I imagine that's not the case when a sporting event is going on. The service has always been good. A few years ago, we got the poutine there and loved it. The last time, this past February, it was really really salty. Too much so. I also recently got the ancient grains with salmon. Solid choice! It's been 6.5 yrs, I need to update my Three Lions review ;) Poutine is back, baby!!!! Honestly, the food is better than ever. You cannot go wrong with the Tannery Row for brunch, and it is the perfect amount of food. Fish & chips - classic, and so good (better than several places I visited in the UK, actually!), but please bring back the mushy peas. You can get a Pimm's cup. A PIMM's CUP! And Shanky's Whip! Don't ask, just order it... Highly recommend!!! After visiting England twice, I now fully and truly appreciate the care and craftmanship the owners and employees have brought into this fine establishment. I was present for every Euros game featuring Team England this past season - the joy was contagious. I even felt comfortable going by myself (and noticed many others were as well), which is something I learned from my first solo vacation in England. After the pandemic, I was not going out for brunch/dinner/drinks, mostly because I did not want to venture outside my bubble. Honestly, having this amazing, welcoming place that reminds me of some of my life's favorite moments, along with terrific food and unique drinks and is only a few minutes walk from where I live, has really helped me break out of my troll-like homebody routine. Returned to TLP on a Sunday to have some brunch with a friend of mine. There were plenty of spots but it was busier than I thought. A soccer game was on, which ppl really seemed to be there for and excited about. If you don't like a loud, laid-back atmosphere, it's probably not the spot for you in the winter. My friend got a bloody, which she enjoyed. For food, I got the pork belly BLT. My only qualm is I asked for onions to be added and they didn't. No biggie, as the sandwich itself was still delicious. They gave me a side of Mayo I asked for, but not the side of the aioli. My sandwich and fries were good. I just had to order the sticky toffee. I love toffee. Although good, this dessert wasn't what I was expecting. Too much pudding for me and not enough of the sticky toffee. Otherwise it was a good dessert but I wouldn't order it again. Definitely a spot I'll be sure to hit up again in the future. Maybe another summer stop-in! read more

Ok. Bad news first. We wanted 80 minutes for lunch. That's right EIGHTY. From the time arrived to food being served. Why the four stars? Because the bartender was the only person serving anyone the kitchen was shortstaffed, and the bartender kept us informed with apologies throughout. he also comped one of our lunches out of three provided one free appetizer and one free side of chips Lastly, the food was amazing. the scotch eggs were delicious and the shepherds pie was the best I've had outside of England. I'm not sure whether I should review here or not... We were craving a good burrito, and found a place called "Taqueria de Leon". It had no reviews. But it was close by and I'm all for supporting new restaurants - especially during these covid days! - so we decided to call in. It turns out that this is not really a restaurant, but a delivery service that uses Three Lions Pub's kitchen. At least, that's what the gal on the phone told us. I'm thinking it's more like Three Lions Pub is adding more food to their delivery/takeout service and wanted to keep the Mexican cuisine separate. I applaud business owners for trying new things during these hard times. I will write a separate review for the food in the Taqueria de Leon page. This updated review for Three Lions Pub is for the service I received here. Everyone we talked to, from the gal on the phone to the guy giving us the food, the nice text message when the food was ready, was awesome. Five stars. The pretty pick up set-up, and the beautiful outdoor seating area were also wonderful. We would personally err on the side of over careful and eat at home, but the set up here is so nice I'm quite tempted. I did knock off one star for the confusion with the Taqueria de Leon. It's a great idea - I just wish it was more transparent from the gecko so there is no confusion. Like, I would have hoped Taqueria de Leon was a more authentic Mexican joint dedicated to burritos (like their menu suggested). Three Lions has a special place in my heart. Having been here a million and one times, it's astonishing I've yet to write a review. This week though, I've been inspired to write one about an experience different than usual. In these crazy, crazy times small businesses are all making rapid changes and adjustments to stay afloat and continue serving the community. Three Lions is one of those places! As way of social distancing, they even have creatively taped lines and lanes inside the pub for when patrons enter for their pickup orders. Outside of their regular food menu on offer, you can now pickup or fill up their 32oz of 64oz growlers. My husband and I decided to do just that. We chose the Kronenbourg Blanc currently on tap. It was a "swipe-your-own-card" situation making the transaction as *clean* as possible. The staff that are providing services still have smiles and you can tell their team is staying strong together. This was a long time bookmark so I decided to stop by for the fish fry and a beer. The place is two rooms divided by the center bar which was cool. The place has an old saloon feel with all the wood everywhere and tin ceiling. The bar is very nice nice to hang out and the noise level is just enough so you can have a conversation but the place has a dim lit atmosphere. The menu is small and this is not a traditional fish fry place because it's just Atlantic cod and chips with no other fish choices and thick frys. Our server was nice and and was patient with us talking and hanging out a bit before and after dinner. The fish fry came out fast and hot, clearly cooked to order and sent to our table because I couldn't eat the frys with out burning my mouth for minutes. The frys were steak like with a crispy shell and soft center, perfect but I only had a few because I'm not big into frys even it they are great. The beer battered cod and cod is not my favorite fish was very good with a well seasoned beer batter that was crispy and tasty with nice flakey cod inside. The coleslaw was in a small tin like the ketchup and tarter sauce and just average like the tarter sauce. Overall this was a great casual place for a leisurely conversation with dinner and a drink with great atmosphere so I would definitely stop back. read more

The server was attentive without being overbearing and although it took awhile to get our entrees, we had plenty of appetizers going around. The beer and water pitchers were hardly ever empty. This is probably the only British Pub I have been to in the entire Milwaukee area and I absolutely love it. Right after our London trip few years back, I was obsessed with Sticky Toffee pudding and was trying to hunt down a place in Milwaukee that would serve the same. Lucky did I know a place not too far away from home would be my go-to for this absolutely heavenly dessert. They have a typical Bar vibe, wooden tables and chairs/benches too a bit inside and is perfect for friends or your gal pals to grab a bite or a few drinks. Me and my husband often find us coming here when we want to have a chill evening. For food we mostly get the Scotch eggs, and/or the hummus platter with chips (actual chips and not the British chips :))).. but mostly I save room for Sticky toffee pudding! With every bite we remember our amazing London visit! The staff is super friendly and is super prompt with your order. Highly recommend this fun place! Between Three Lions Pub and its sister bar - Red Lion Pub, I've been many times. The food is always excellent with a good selection of draft beers (the fish and chips is top notch and I personally recommend pairing it with a Smithwicks). For any soccer fans out there, it's definitely the place to watch the game! The bartenders and servers are all fun yet attentive. The place is clearly the kind of pub that has its cast of regulars, which is always a good sign in my book. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly with booths, tabletop, and bar seating. Come into town for another place that was closed on Sunday so decided to try 3 Lions since they have a dining deck. Enjoyed our lunch here and being out on the deck during this covid time. We visited in early fall when the weather was just getting on the cold side for outdoor dining without heaters or wrapping in layers. The deck was great with lots of space between tables. Since it was Sunday afternoon and kind of slow there was only a single waitress for the whole place. She did great and was busting for sure. Had the fish n chips which were ok (a little disappointing for a british pub) and my wife had a pub burger. She said it was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. On a warmer day the deck would be great, with a good view of the river. Good service, overall good lunch. read more

Three lions is a staple in our house. Whether it's going out to eat there or bringing it home, we eat here often. The only reason they don't have 5 stars is because there are a lot of inconsistencies. Sometimes service is a bit wacky and we'll get our appetizer 30 seconds before the entree. Sometimes they switch things up in the kitchen that don't make sense (like the veggies in my curry one time just being baby carrots instead of zucchini and squash). This is a standard pub, nothing too exciting. I've been a few times with friends over the years. I stopped in the other night with a friend. We sat at the bar and ordered beers. After my first few sips I noticed fruit flies buzzing around my glass. I waved them away. A few minutes later same thing, and then the next time I looked they were crawling in the glass! We stopped in to have bruncht here and to have something a little bit different. I really liked the neighborhood and the vibe that was going on at the Pub. They made us feel comfortable as soon as well walked in the door. Server was super friendly and great about telling us about the different options and about their pub. I had the orange crepes (OMG) and hubby had the Full English Breakfast. What can I say it all came out fast, hot and delicious! We didn't have the teenager with us for this meal but I am definitely wanting to take him back because it has a great sports atmosphere without making it feel 100% bar. Three Lions is the original of the Lion's pubs. It's located in Shorewood and is an excellent place to catch a game of football or almost any other sport for that matter. The beer selection is as respectable as they come. Best to sit outside on the expanded deck that takes up some of the parking area out front. What I truly love at Three Lions is the food! This joint does it up correct and serves some decent goods fo sho! In particular the Happy Hour is correct! The Scotch Eggs are some of the best around. I'm a sucker for a well crafted Scotch egg and not everybody knows how to make these proper like. Well the Lion's does and at Happy Hour they come at a good deal. Also the Lion's has a proper fish and chips and all the sides you could desire. Favorite side is the Onion Rings! Cooked crisp and perfect these things are just good!
