First of all, the owner takes care of his staff like family, which says a lot about a place. They have good weekly specials, lots going on, and this guy goes ALL OUT at Christmas. He literally transforms Natty Oaks into the North Pole, complete with a mailbox outside where the kids can send Santa a note. And let me tell you... he is THE BEST SANTA I have ever seen. Seriously. They also have a bunch of shuttle buses that take you to Brewers games and concerts, which means you can drink, have fun and not have to deal with the whole "where the hell did I park?" situation. Last night was our first time downstairs in The Oaks Lounge and I loved it. It feels like a little speakeasy mixed with your BFF's basement bar -- in the best possible way. We were there for a bourbon event and our bartender was fantastic. Super friendly, helpful and was absolutely busting her butt taking care of everyone. And then there's the outdoor space where they have bands during the week and on weekends when Wisconsin weather decides to cooperate. Natty Oaks is just one of those great local places that has personality. Good food, good drinks, good people and always something going on. If you haven't been, go check it out! read more

This is a good place to grab a drink, they have a super cute outdoor area to sit. The food is good, inconsistent on how it is prepared. I'm not sure if they have high turnover with cooks or not. Natty Oaks is a sports bar with shuttles to games. It can get pretty loud. Nevertheless, the service and food were great. I had the Reuben which is very sloppy, but in a good way. (You will need a fork.) The bread was toasted nicely and the Reuben was tasty. We also had the artichoke dip and pitas. It was a perfect portion size to share. Came here for lunch after some nearby shopping at the Goodwill down the street. Our server, Madeline, was really friendly and attentive. We both had the basic smash can burgers. I upgraded to onion rings and they were great. I was pleasantly surprised to get a fresh baked chocolate chip cookie with my burger. No mention of that on the menu, but it was tasty! Our party of five was seated at a high top, and our waitress did a pretty good job, considering the large group she was also taking care of next to us. We ordered the Pizza Pan Nachos and Spinach and Artichoke Dip with carrots and celery instead of pita chips. Both were good overall, however the nachos were a bit too salty, and the dip came with pita chips instead of veggies, so we needed to re-ask for those. There is a nice outdoor space in back, which would be great in the summer, and while there is a nice wood bar, I found it relatively small. Came here to try out the baked cod and was pleasantly surprised. The baked cod is absolutely delicious and flavorful. Perfect portion. I ordered it with the fries which were tasty of course! In accordance with the fact that this is a dive bar location in MKE I review as such. This location has become my favorite to go to near my new home in west allis. The people are very friendly from staff to clientele. The food is incredible I loved the wings and have them 2nd best so far in MKE only behind Stennys. The menu has a good selection of your standard bar food, and everything we saw come out looked delicious. We enjoyed some cheese curds and deep fried mushrooms to start, and most got a burger for their dinner. I got the philly cheesesteak, it was a great amount of filling to bread ratio and very good. Not the dog friendly restaurant I was expecting. I've eaten on patios with my dog at other restaurants. Here you sit in a grass area separate from their patio area that does not have wait staff service. You still have to go inside to get drinks, and must order your food to go. This was one of the worst dining experiences my mother-in-law and her friend have ever had. The service was incredibly rude from both the server and management, and the entire experience felt dismissive and unwelcoming. They upcharge for practically everything, and none of these extra costs are explained ahead of time. You don't find out until the bill comes -- which feels like being nickel-and-dimed for every little thing. The food itself was sub-par and nowhere near worth the inflated prices. On top of that, the staff ignored simple requests, brought drinks that were not what was ordered, and didn't provide the side dishes that were asked for. When they tried to address the issues, management offered almost nothing to make it right -- they only waived a single side salad and acted like that was enough. What makes this even more disappointing is that my mother-in-law's friend, who is Black, was treated with a level of disrespect that was noticeable and unacceptable. Whether intentional or not, the treatment they received made them feel singled out and unwelcome. There are plenty of better pubs and grills in the area that actually care about their customers. The bartender was very rude when trying to turn cards in for a free drink. It was very disorganized. We still had a fun time taking the shuttle bar to bar even though each bar didn't seem to know what was going on. The judging was biased on the costume contest. We were there standing in line but were not included. I've had a bad experience in the past there at a packer game and this makes me and my large group of friends not want to go back there ever again.
