My son and I pulled the short straw and my husband got to choose our dinner spot. Two solid thumbs down. I'm all about homey and relaxed, but I was not a fan of Danny Haskell's. We sat in the dining room and our little vinyl table was wobbly and not very clean looking. My margarita was weak and just basically sucked. My son and husband had the fish fry. Both took most of their meals home. I had a grilled cheese, mostly because it was the only vegetarian option available. I had a few bites and was done. Their specially seasoned fries were also blah. We went in there waiting for friends to show up. Got food was good. Server was great. Bartender was gorgeous. But the customers were throwing coasters around the bar like school children. One hit my wife in the leg. Another hit me in the head. When I confronted the customers about hitting me they acted like I was in the wrong. Being that I am still sick from last nights fish fry and on the toilet, it was not a pleasant experience and we not be giving them our business. I guess I should have gotten drunk then maybe I wouldn't have noticed how awful & overpriced the food was. It is bad business to just cater to the regulars. Seems like a lot of people feel this way. There were 6 to 7 people in the kitchen. No excuse for getting someone elses order or bad food. Also, letting bartenders get drunk at work is a terrible business move and not too smart. Originally was trying to go to Milkcan, but this was a very happy accident to run into! Beautiful location, right across the street from the lake with ample parking. The inside is a typical bar, but you have GOT to check out the back patio! It is absolutely gorgeous! There is a ton of green space, a horseshoe... court? There a raised wooden deck as well as several tables with umbrellas on the patio. Our server wasn't annoyed at all that we wanted to sit outside, even though we were her only table. She never forgot about us, keeping our drinks filled and the food coming out quickly. We started with the broccoli bites and the onion strings. Both were delicious! We split the Haskell's burger (bacon, cheese, onion straws, bbq sauce) and chive fries, as well as the Danny's dog (hot dog split with cheese in the middle and bacon), side of tots. I am a sucker for super crispy tots and these were great. I would definitely recommend stopping here for some great bar food, affordable drinks, and friendly/attentive service! read more

I wanted to like this place, but with several disapointments ensued, I really didn't. Picture a group of three and we were rip roaring for the fried chicken that everyone on here is raving about on this app. When we received our menus, we did not see hide nor hair of fried chicken on the menu. I proceeded to ask the waitress about that absence on the menu. She claims they haven't made fried chicken since before Covid. Well, that just put me in a mood. Now all I want is friggen chicken!! So, to be a good sport, I ordered the fried chicken sandwich with fries. It arrives and it is two chicken tenders on a bun, not a breast. It just keeps getting better people. Let's just say I gave up the ghost, and it is what it is. This place did not meet my expectations, nor palette, and I will not be coming back. This has been a bookmark for awhile now so I thought that I would stop over for lunch. It's a rustic woody bar overlooking a lake with a small dining room in front with the bar further in. The bar is a U shape with tables on the side and pool table etc in back. The bar was full on a Sunday afternoon and it's clearly a neighborhood hangout and I got some eyes as I sat at the bar. I ordered a Bloody Mary with a Miller lite chaser and looked over the menu and saw a weekend only fried chicken dinner with choice of potato and slaw which I ordered to go because I didn't want to eat a chicken dinner on the crowded bar top. My bloody was ok that had some alcohol in it topped with an olive, pepperoncihi pepper, piece of meat stick and cheese chunk. My chaser came in a mini mason jar which was coo. My chicken dinner didn't take long and I can't believe that no one has left a review for it. I opted for the mashed potatoes and gravy which was skin on that had a nice smooth texture and the gravy was a thick dark style, and they give you enough so it's not skimpy like some places. The coleslaw was the sweet creamy commercial like lots of places use and it was ok. The chicken looked great because you could see that it's not a thin batter but a thick beer batter style. The pieces are average size and not super small like some places. The batter was thick and extra crispy which complemented the moist tender chicken nicely and seasoned well enough so not bland. The crispy fried chicken is actually really good and at a 4 piece dinner with two sides for $8.95 it also very reasonable for how good it is and I'm impressed because some chicken restaurants are not this good and it's bar food from here. I enjoyed today's lunch and if you like fried chicken you really have to stop over on the weekend and try some, I will post pictures of the chicken. read more

We have become regulars here, the food and service never disappoint. If I had one thing negative to say, it would be all the people vaping at the bar. Even though it says "No Vaping" tonight for example there was at least 6 people puffin on those things. They stink, I grew up with cigarette smoke in our home and normally I wouldn't take time to complain. But these things are nasty!! If this didn't happen this place would be perfect! Great neighborhood bar. It's not fancy but the drinks are reasonable and they have frequent food specials. They also have a decent craft beer selection. I came here for the fish fry and was thoroughly impressed - I got the perch fry with tots and the perch tasted very fresh and was well done. Tots were just the perfect amount of crispy. I didnt give it 5 stars because my SO got the fried haddock and it wasn't anything special. She also got the potato pancake which was slightly soggy in the middle. read more

We had our 1st fish fry here on 12/30 and liked it very much. Our server was a young man and did his job well. I gave it 4 stars because of the room we were seated in. I would call it a storage room. The food was good I especially liked the weekly specials the waitress was beyond accommodating and being out first time there she filled us in on any and all questions we had. This was my first visit. I saw another yelper visit here and it looked good. I had the chicken dinner they only have on Saturday's and afternoon on Sunday's. First the coating is super crunchy and the chicken was moist and good flavor. You can get either tater tots, mashed potatoes or French fries and coleslaw. I went for the mashed potatoes which are skin on with gravy . My only thing was there was a lot of gravy. Ill ask for it on the side maybe next time. The coleslaw was creamy and slight sweetness to it but I didn't mind that at all. I don't suggest the chicken for anyone that has teeth issues or that doesn't like a incredibly crunchy batter but I really like it not like some of those other places that are soft and soggy from grease. The menu does say 4 pieces which are somewhat decent size but alot of the menu prices are different it says $8.95 but now its $9.95. The bar area was good size a few high top tables but we opted for the dining area which you can look out at the lake and enjoy a drink or your meal. Plenty of regulars in here maybe I'll become one and try other stuff. Menu looks pretty good from fish fry and sandwiches to breakfast items on the weekends. I really liked the location of this tavern. It's right across from the lake and evening views are stunning. The interior is very reminiscent of any bar you'd find up north. Wood every where, pool table and a tv in view of every seat, generally playing some sport or another. The bar is a large square area with seating on three sides. If you can't get a table, the bar is your best bet(better drink service too). Outside there is a huge newly updated patio and bar. It puts my backyard to shame. It's a great spot to enjoy the fresh air while having a drink. When I visited it wasn't particularly busy. My husband and I each ordered drinks and a burger/fry dinner. The burgers were almost comically large. I had trouble taking full bites! However, once I squashed the bun top a little it was more manageable. Slightly. The patties themselves were large, it felt like a half pound of beef. They looked like the ones in those Hardee's commercials. My hats off to the chef as he did one heck of a job. As thick as the burger was it was well cooked and seasoned without being dry. A bit greasy of course, but what burger isn't? The fries were probably my favorite part. Crispy yet soft in the middle. Yum! I do love fries. I had no issues with service here, everyone was really nice and our food didn't take too long to arrive. The bartender was a little slow on the refills toward the end but to be fair, it was hot and were were thirsty. Could've paced ourselves better. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the ceiling. It's cedar planked with about a half inch gap between each one. Through that gap I could easily see the insulation. Now, none of it fell out onto our table, but it was a little distracting to me the whole visit. I'm not a fan of fiberglass and I certainly don't want it in my food. That's not going to deter me from eating here again, but it will always be in the back of my mind when I do visit. read more

We have had great service here in the past - somewhere we come often - today was not the case. Ordered at 3:40 and was given a 1 hour time frame. No issue at all - that timing was perfect. Showered up at 4:35 and it was clear food had been sitting there for a while. The pizza was not even cooked and the Buffalo chicken wrap had no buffalo sauce and was difficult to pick up and fries were cold. The burger we ordered was warm - likely the last thing cooked. First time at Danny Haskell's Pub was tonight. Food was spectacular, view from front was serene, staff was very friendly. You can tell this is a neighborhood hang out and everyone seems to know each other. We ordered the Haskel Burger, which I really recommend, the chicken strips, which were great and the Italian Beef & Cheese French Dip Sandwich and that was really good too. They have 3 different kinds of sides, fries (which are REALLY good, thin and tasty, Chive Fries - another good one and Pub chips. Last night was our first time eating here. Sure wish we would have tried it sooner! The fish was absolutely outstanding!! I had the baked haddock. Sooooo very moist and a very generous portion. The dark rye was very good. Not all dried out like some restaurants. The coleslaw was delicious! Had a little "bite" to it! We had the chive fries with ranch dressing. Also very good. If you have children go elsewhere. My family had been coming here for years. The food was always good. However, our last visit may have been our last ever. We waited over an hour without receiving food 45 mins of which we were completely ignored without a server or manager coming to the table even after requesting fries/crackers or something for our one year old who started screaming because he was hungry. This was the only time I have ever walked out of a restaurant. Being in the service industry I felt bad but we had no choice our son needed to eat. To add insult to the hungry we were belittled by the regulars doing shots with the bartender, all of whom couldn't understand why we left. This one experience was so bad it eclipsed all the great experiences we had in the past years. We have no plans of revisiting this restaurant. read more

Went for a second time, and had another good meal. The place was very understaffed, and the server/bartender was really running her butt off. We sat at a semi-dirty table which our server noticed, but simply put place mats over. She forgot chili for my friend, but with the portions, that was not a big deal. I can look past all of this once you get the food. The cheese and bread sticks are a really nice touch! I had the fried haddock and friend shrimp combo with chive fries. The wife had baked haddock and fried shrimp with potato pancakes. My friend had the perch with chips. We tried all the potato options, and each were good in their own way. Everything came out very hot and crispy, and they give you a ton of condiments (ranch, ketchup, tartar, lemon, etc). When you go here, just remember that this is more of a bar with food. Have a drink, sit back, and take in the scenery. You will not be disappointed once your food comes. read more
