Sat at the bar and ordered a few cocktails and started with the spinach dip, which came with lots of variety. We also tried to fish fry and went with the walleye and the perch, and I forgot to snap a pic. Both were great, but walleye was a clear winner. Would definitely come back for that specifically. Had lunch at Point After Pub & Grille on Labor Day with two family members. We were all very satisfied with our orders. The food came out and the tortilla was dry, and there was only chicken in the middle of the wrap where it was cut. Thought it was cool that they had "lettuce leaf" as one of the bun choices - but it's not a wrap. More like one piece of lettuce on the bottom of the burger. Won't mind coming in one a pinch, but wouldn't go out of my way to revisit. I would say the place has cheap food that's overpriced. I got fried pickles that were spears. The spears were cut into thirds so in the entire basket, if I had to guess, we probably only had 3 or 4 pickle spears. That was disappointing considering the price. I also got chicken tenders for 16.95. It was a dinner entree so I am thinking for that price, they have to be good tenders. Nope, they were those cheap tenders you can get at a fair. I only like chicken tenders where when you open it, you can see the chicken, these are not those tenders. For $17 and something I will not be eating, I am disappointed. You get 6 tenders which is a lot, but I would rather pay $17 for quality over quantity. The waitress was nice but the food also took awhile to come. I have been here on several occasions. Some may be having a bad day so I always want to give the benefit of the doubt. I only sit at the bar since I'm alone. Suzi is extremely short, inattentive & rude. I've seen people get a drink & ask to put an order in but because she was to busy chatting with her regulars & 10 minutes later they immediately asked for the check & left. I understand having a relationship with the "regulars " is great but don't make an unfamiliar face feel so incredibly uncomfortable. Yes it's evident the "regulars" love her but at the end of the day my dollar is no different than theirs. I will simply choose to spend mine elsewhere. read more

I was going to a Milwaukee Milkmen game (if you haven't been to one yet, what are you waiting for?!?!) on a Friday night and wanted to stop for a fish fry beforehand. Conveniently, Point After is just a couple minutes from Franklin Field and I happened to have them bookmarked as a place to try. I ordered cheese curds and a three piece haddock fish fry with potato pancake for the side. I also ordered an additional piece of fish, but somehow received two pieces. I feel like cheese curds and haddock were cooked about 30 seconds too long. The breading on the cheese curds was getting close to the point of being burned, but thankfully wasn't, and the fish was a bit dry and hard to cut without using a knife. Taste wise the cheese curds were ok. There was much more breading than cheese, which was disappointing. Certainly not inedible or something I didn't like, but not worth getting again. I double checked my bill and I was only charged for one extra piece of haddock, so I guess I got lucky with a free extra piece too. I normally love haddock and flavor wise they were good, but they were too dry for me to want it again. The potato pancake was awesome. There was only one, but it was large and cooked perfectly. If I come again and try something else, I'd for sure want the potato pancake again. read more

Whether you're ordering their famous Friday Fish Fry (Perch, Walleye, or Haddock) or their full rack of ribs, the wraps to apps you will NOT be disappointed. We live in the area and really wish that this location would just simply be better. A few weeks ago we gave the place a chance (again) and stopped in for a Friday Fish Fry. Although the server was friendly and kind, she was very slow. As for the fish fry - the potato pancakes were frozen in the middle, and the fish was extremely dry- most likely overcooked in old oil. 2 dinners and 2 drinks + tip and the bill came out to just under $60. We are not a "cheap" couple, but the price tag didn't match the quality. Conversely, the following week we found a much better fish fry at Club Paragon just up the road; essentially same menu items ordered and including tip at 20% and we paid $38 - plus the quality of the food was outstanding. Bottom line, the Point After food quality is poor and the prices they charge are ridiculous. Disappointing. So, next time you are in a your in the mood for good pub fare locally, take the extra few minutes and get over to a place like Paragon or the Brass Tap. read more

My friends and I are huge fans of Point Afters taco Tuesdays, and when we heard they were offering breakfast on weekends we were excited to try it. We arrived and there were few people there, but still it took a long time to get any service. After finally getting our coffee, we ordered and waited. Twice we had to ask somebody other than our waitress for help. There was no offer of more coffee until we asked. Our food when it arrived was cool, toast barely toasted, hashbrowns undercooked. The bacon was very good. That was it. We had to ask another wait staff for our checks. So, we were very disappointed to say the least. Stopped here today after my sons baseball game at the Rock. We originally had 6 but increased our RSVP to 16. They were busy but truly did a great job bumping up our setting. Placed our order and everything came out within a reasonable time 30 min. Dry rub wings were delicious rather small but food costs are up, we get it. This place has been on my list for a while and it's in an area that I just don't get to that often so I made a point to get to a couple places while in the area and check them out. The place is on the coroner of a strip mall so parking is plenty. The place is just what you think a pub should look like as you walk up. As I walked in there is a hostess stand and you have to wait to be seated, as I looked a round I thought this place is a lot nicer than I was expecting for a coroner pub. There is a cool bar with under lighting and flat screen all around the top of the bar. There is nice furniture and high tables along wit low tables toward the back with raw sheet metal and nice color walls, this looks fresh and not very old. My server seemed new or nervous because he was kind of choppy explaining the draft beers and the menu didn't match what they actual had on hand. I had the Point Amber while looking the menu over and the menu had a nice balance of options but I would have one thing that I get once or twice a year, the patty melt, I originally walked in for a craft burger. Here we go again, how do I want it cooked and I never know what I will receive when ordering rare because it's all across the board and a 50% of being cooked right from all past experiences. Holy Cow Batman was that a good looking patty melt and it's cooked perfect rare, thank you. It smelled amazing and it looked like a monster on the plate with a pickle and seasoned frys. OMG the first bite was so good with the contrast of the toasted rye, the soft rare meat, melty cheese and the grilled onions just playing well with each other. The hearty marble rye was dryer than normal rye on purpose, the new bread they ordered and it toasted nicely and held up to juicy gooey patty melt, just brilliant who ever made that change. The half pound patty had a nice grill flavor and was very juicy, nice job and just the right amount of tasty grilled onions. The seasoned frys were frozen with the classic broken pieces but they were very passable because they were just hot out of the fryer with a crispy outer and soft hot center, no biggie. I must say that this was the best patty melt that I have ever had with great quality ingredients, Hot and fresh off the grill straight to my table also helped because if it sat under a heat lamp on a busy time it would have been different. My burger and beer lunch was way better than I expected so I would definitely recommend stopping by, great job. read more

Was a regular at Hanley's so I was anxious to check out The Point After and see what they did with the place. It looks great! I love that they added an extra wall/door entrance when you enter. It will help block out the cold in the winter. The bar is large and the rest of the place has an industrial feel with a sports paraphernalia on the walls. Clean, beautiful bathrooms. The food was good! For an appetizer we ordered the artichoke bites which were so good. After eating those we thought maybe should have ordered a bunch of appetizers to try since those were so good! But I was not disappointed with my Reuben sandwich. Super thick corn beef with Gouda cheese, 1,000 island dressing and kraut, loved it. My mom got the fish sandwich and said it was great. Service was great. Amy was our server and she did a great job. Definitely plan on going back. read more

We stopped in here after an event in Franklin and were pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. We ate lunch at the bar and had a spectacular bartender, Andy, who was the perfect host. He was pleasant and efficient and everything you would want representing a restaurant. The food was very good, I had a chicken roll up that had lots of chunk of chicken and a good sauce. My wife had a build it yourself burger that had a great bun and good juicy meat patty. We got a side of chips that were not my favorite because they were very thick but there were other choices had we know. They were serving enormous bloody Mary's with large pretzels around the top and all kind of other stuff that looked great. Maybe on another trip we could try one. I used to go to Hanley's often so I wasn't sure what to expect at Point After with the new sports bar vibe. I think they did a great job redecorating for the theme. I had the burger once and it was great! Thick bacon, juicy burger and yummy bun! Their French fries are thick but crispy too! Tonight I had cod fish fry! It is the Hanley's fish fry because as they say on the menu, "if it isn't broke, why fix it." It was just as good as I remembered! The fish was crunchy and fresh and it came with rye bread and Cole slaw. I had a baked potato on the side and it was the perfect side. The food was really good. The service was really really bad. So then you think,is it worth the hassle for the good food? My server was so bad. This place thought he should represent them -so you got to wonder. Explanation- I simply asked why I was charged $1.50 for my side item that I thought came with my ribs. He says " I tell everybody that It comes with fries, .... and I told you that Mac and cheese is $1.50 more. The problem is that he didn't tell me and that is that he is calling me a liar.
